Valkyria Chronicles for PC [Nov 11, £14/20/$20, has all DLC, 60fps/1080p+, $14 GMG]

I would too if it wasn't for them promising PSO2 in the west since early 2013 and, well, it's almost 2015 and we don't have it. It makes it hard for me to trust anything they do with the PC.

Plus there does seem to be an industry trend for shittier ports the longer it's separated from the initial release.

That statement was more in reference to the quality of ports they do release, not potential business decisions.

This must've been a bitch to bring over from the PS3, no?

It ran really well on the system too, many games didn't early on.

That is why this one is so puzzling.

It fits the demographic perfectly, yet it may be one of their more difficult titles to port.

I doubt Sega's going to fuck up this port. Would be a sizable loss of good will with their PC fanbase if they broke their pattern of good PC ports on the game which is considered to be their Magnum Opus of 7th gen by many, and one of the best if not the best game on the PS3.

Really? I get framerate issues in VC1 every time that the game just has to show off all that Nvidia (PhysX primarily) middleware packed in. Which reminds me - Hope this port preserves, if not improves on the PhysX integration the original game had. Ahem, pray to god with options for it of course so that this game doesn't run worse than SR2 on rigs with AMD cards.

Hmm maybe I should try that DLC that I never got around to play. I wish they would at least do an HD port of VC2 and especially VC3 if they don't make any more sequels. This franchise desperately needs another console sequel, c'mon Sega :(

Aw man, I'm gonna have to double on this one. Absolutely a favorite of mine on the PS3. The only thing that held back the amazing art style was a lack of AA and 720p. This is going to look glorious on PC.

Huhn, completely missed this on PS3, but it's looking pretty cool from reviews. I may pick this up on PC if they do a good job with the port.

Great! I'll buy it as soon as it's available for purchase.
hopefully it does well enough for 2 and 3 to get ports as well.

Oh, wow. Did not expect this at all.

Already own the original on PS3 (in fact, the original was the main reason I originally BOUGHT a PS3), but will buy in the hopes that this somehow leads to an official VC3 localization.

I won't be getting this port but for some reason I'm gonna use this news as an excuse for me to replay it on the PS3 again.

did any gaming site pick this up at all? I cant find the news anyware

The announcement DID come rather late in the day, and most of the PC gaming news sites are European based. Give it tomorrow once the journalists are actually awake.

Here, have a port-fear from me while we're here - Watch it not use the mouse in the tactical menu and force the existing virtual-mouse to the WASD keys.

So, for starters: SO EXCITED. I will buy this ASAP.

Part of me wants to believe that SEGA didn't just port the CANVAS engine over to PC for a single game. But then the other part of me says that's exactly what happened when they made CANVAS for PS3. I have no idea if SEGA will ever bother to re-release VC2 (and 3??!?) in CANVAS on PC, as both would be a lot more work for seemingly less payoff. But then I never thought we'd ever see Valkyria Chronicles on PC.

I'll buy it at the exact moment this one is available for prebuy.
Also, you guys better NOT let this one bomb.
If this one sell well, we're going to have the other games, then more SEGA games AND Atlus games.

pc support = mod support

Custom missions? Only if they come with new armored units you can pilot.

Wat. The game doesn't even have trophy support you liar.

Notice how "platinumed" was written in

The reason SEGA told the PS3 community that VC would never get trophies was because they didn't want to re-open the code. Obviously with the port that wasn't the case. As a huge VC fan, it just hurts...

Yeah, it stings, I guess they'll use it as a selling point to double dip.

Hey, I would absolutely LOVE to be wrong. If Sega can put out a great port then all the better for everyone.

VC1 doesn't have spectacular assets, it's stuff that would be more than maxed out at 1080p on 2008-9 rigs, it's the visual style that makes it look good. Barely, since aliasing kind of cripples the experience, and now that is gone since we're in the supersampling era.

Can't wait to downsample the shit out of this, after many years wanting to replay it and dreaming of better IQ.

IF BAYONETTA IS NEXT I DON'T EVEN

I've always wanted to play this... honestly, not sure why I never bought it on PS3, lol. Will buy. BTW, Vita owners, can the other Valkyria Chronicles games be played on Vita?

Sega, do Virtua Fighter next, I beg. Please. Virtua Fighter.

You mean Final Showdown?

As a PC only guy who has never heard of this game, tell me why I should be excited about this (not trolling, genuinely curious).

Genuinely my favorite game of last generation. Absolutely gorgeous, XCOM-esque combat, and engaging story. It's just a overall wonderful package.

Can anybody tell me how many of the articles they saw that mentioned the petition we organized here on NeoGAF? I'm a bit annoyed at how many are leaving it out because one of the most prominent attitudes we ran into was "Those never work" now we have another petition that has, alongside Dark Souls, worked. Then I see a lot of sites reporting on this that refused to give us coverage and none of them mention the campaign?

I'm admittedly a bit salty about it. The only site I saw even mention the petition in passing was Digital Spy.
