Yeah, that three way fight scene was too... Flaily? Have we ever seen Oliver do a kick like he did in that scene? It just looked out of place and off...

Not liking Ras' actor, should have went with Liam Neesons.

They wouldn't have gotten him.

That said, Nable's voice kind of reminds me of something between Phil Collins and David Rappaport. O_o

Roy's scene had me in stitches. Otherwise the episode was pretty good. I didn't expect Ra's to show up this early tho. Fingers crossed for a Bats guest appearance.
lol

CW president said that they reached out to Neeson after he said he'd play Ra'as, but the timing and scheduling didn't allow them to proceed any further.

Nable was pretty great in Riddick and Manu Bennett has vouched for him, so he definitely gets the benefit of the doubt. Especially since we've seen all of 4 seconds of him.

Ra's looked alright to me and since both Malcom and Slade were pretty great, I have no doubt that they got someone competent to play the primary antagonist.

I'm not hating on Nable, I've been defending his casting against the onslaught of "WHY WASN'T IT NEESON?! HE SAID HE'D DO IT!" Stuff since the casting was announced. That was just the first time I've heard his voice. I doubt they would've used Neeson even if he somehow had several months open to do a TV show.

I can't say I believed Nyssa one bit, when she said she was grieving. It wasn't convincing at all. And I know it's superheroes and all, but I love how they infiltrate a temple to get one guy, all dressed up with hoods and masks (Roy looked ridiculous with his mask, btw) and Diggle just casually strolls along. Like he has no identity that needs to be protected, which is insane, because he has arguably the most to lose. At least give the man a hood!

I get the criticism of the stunt choreography, but didn't think it was that bad. The fight didn't last long enough to be "omg, so bad". It was good between Oliver and Nyssa (why do her boots have heels?) and only got a bit messy when Merlin joined the fight for like a minute or less. I agree with Roy's flip, though. It was hilarious.

Other than that it was a pretty good episode. Not incredible or amazing, but still good. It's obviously still too early to judge Ra's.

Oh, and I really hope the show lays low on the secrecy this season. Lance still doesn't know about his daughter, Thea doesn't know about Oliver. It's probably their way to create the necessary drama (it's CW!), but it would be nice not to have that subplot again.

e: Ohhh, so that's were Felicity was this episode. I can live with that!

Why is Speedy attractive now?
Why is Laurel so big? She's so big.

sorry for my bad spelling there above me.

I was on a mobile platform and the keys are very small.

Anyway, Roys flips doesn't bother me.

And is Nyssas actress british?

Oh god, I just accidentally saw half a season New Girl and then suddenly Amell appeared. Felt so weird. Of course mostly because I accidentally slide into this show on Netflix and didn't close the tab fast enough. But also because Oliver Queen felt misplaced.

edit - this is a good gif for adding Bish face and "Banned" sign

He's the flipping hero Starling deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll stun him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent flipping guardian. A watchful protector. A Flipping Knight.

Very enjoyable episode. So much feels for Nyssa.

Indeed. I had my doubts based on the casting, but he was quite competent in the episode.

What does Ra's say when he is talking about bringing Malcolm to justice? He says that "al sahir" (Malcolm I think) will face the league's justice, but for his crimes against "al (or el) kurd". So who or what is al or el kurd?

you know what would be pretty fucking sweet if The Flash and Arrow teams up in the season finale.

I could see that happening. It could be one big Finale for both shows.

You know what DC Villain I would LOVE see on Arrow?

Prometheus.

He's another Batman Villain.. but Whatever. It feels like Batman and Green Arrow Share a lot of Villains Together.

Our code.

Speaking of: Ra's casting seems fine, except he's not doing the best job masking his Australian accent...

Since we will probably never get a direct reference to Batman/Bruce Wayne, it will be cool if when Ra's fights Oliver for the first time, he says something along the lines of "such a disappointment compared to the detective".

Anyways, good episode.

That doesn't make sense since Talia has been in a relationship with Sarah for a long time. Technically they could just ignore that aspect of her character falling in love with Bruce but that would be offputting.

Ok episode, at least it's going somewhere after a slow season start.

Roy scene (flip and shit), seriously... how did someone approves that? This isn't fucking power rangers.
And the fight between the three archers was sloppy at best.
I feel like the action scenes really declined since last season.

i don't know, i feel like the show is parodying itself at this point.

You guys need to reserve your judgements. You can't guage an actor after like 30 seconds of footage

But that makes sense! Get outta 'ere with your logic.

That said though, they wouldn't have gotten Neeson anyways. They said it conflicted with his schedule or something.

Decided I had to keep the "end" there for maximum effect.[/QUOTE]

I came here for this gif of the greatest moment in TV history and GAF had it waiting for me. This shit killed me when I watched this morning.

Katrina Law is so hot, but Thea is giving her a run for her money now.

Excited to see more Ra's. Merlyn was awesome this episode too.
