Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare PC Performance Thread

Wow would have that there are more people playing this game on launch than 8k...

I'm confused though, is the game actually out out or out a week early for pre-orders ?

Has anyone found an config or .ini file to force 120-144fps for Multiplayer yet?

Also finding bad SLI performance.. Any ideas on what profile to use?

The COD IP is pretty much irrelevant on PC, I would be very surprised if Advanced Warfare turns things around. This is not an IP that caters to the PC MP crowd.
 
Where do I change the video options for multiplayer? You have to in-game to do it in single player but in multiplayer everything is grayed out......

And lol @ PS4 version feeling "smoother" What will be next!

Edit: You have to hit space in the multiplayer menu >_> Also, is there a way to remove the 90 FPS lock in multiplayer?

So played the first two single player missions to get a feel for things and to check performance and things are running great at max now playing on the right monitor and everything. Game looks damn good too.

I was starving for a good call of duty game because I missed the fast paced multiplayer. really liking what i played so far. If anyone wants to play tonight add me on steam. Steam id in profile.

Not always, sometimes they make sure their benchmark is really taxing.
From my experience their numbers are reliable enough.

I ofc haven't checked every benchmark, but aside from this i remember a few other instances were i checked like Mordor and Ryse.

anyone else have massive frame drops during the first 20 to 30 seconds of every match?

yeah, it's pretty rough. I'm trying to get this thing to run consistently on my laptop. i5 with dual 755m's SLI. I've seen frame rates as high as 90 and as low as 25... all in the same MP match. Back to the drawing board after work.

About the v-sync on borderless... well, I decided to test the game with SEF turned off, and it turns out the framerate skyrockets above 60. Appears to stay on the 70-110 range at all times, and it's not as smooth as locked in 60 with SEF on. So what does this mean? V-sync does affect borderless after all, or is SEF different than v-sync?

I've also experienced a few occasional stuttering moments on missions 4 and 5 that I felt shouldn't be there. Disappointing, but at least it's still way, WAY better than what I had with fullscreen.

Is it me or Nvidia getting worse with SLI support?

It isn't necessarily NVIDIA's fault. It seems many of these new games are built on engines that don't support alternate frame rendering, or don't support it easily or well.
A gaffer who works at NVIDIA has said a few times that if there's no SLI profile at launch, it's not from lack of trying. Developers have to be involved in AFR support.
AFR is kind of a hack tbh. I wish there were another way to utilise multiple GPUs in games.

Pleasantly surprised to see this kind of performance.

Seems like this is one of the better Call of Duty games in a while. I haven't played since Black Ops, but I'll probably end up checking this out either in December or early next year.

I sucked six dicks to get this tag.
Surprised at how well I'm able to run this on a r270x, i5 maxed at 1080p.

Campaign is better looking of course but more optimized than mp at least for me. If I look at certain things(like on that weird sky map) my fps just randomly drops a little bit no matter the settings or res for some reason

lol at a poster who should think more before posting. Unless you have both like me, don't comment. PS4 is smoother with a controller - I have both.

I do have some odd stuttering, like - a GTX 780 in MP and its not even maxed out I get drops to 45 occasionally - which really ruins the flow of the game lol.

Just out of curiosity, not saying it's the reason you prefer it's feel on PS4, but does the PC version add aim assist with the controller? That's fairly uncommon.
 
I came in here to complain about the crazy messed up load times and performance I am getting and every one seems to be positive about it. Must be something haywire on my end this time.
 
Look at Black Op 2 and ghosts DLC populations, HC populations or anything alike. Ghosts has more people in one playlist on PS4 then the entire pc population

You said "pc often has many dead playlists day one." Show me a screen shot of ONE dead playlist in the Call of Duty game that just came out or you are talking shit.

Theres no playlist numbers, you think im talking shit for no reason, I own every CoD on PC. Bought day 1. Ghosts was impossible to find certain playlists with populations in the hundreds on day 1.

Finally got my hands on it. Can't even use supersampling. I bumped it up to 8x and it runs at 20fps. Anything beyond that you can just imagine. Everything else is maxed out except the AA which is on smaa2. All caches are off. Please tell me this is a bug!
8350@4.8 dual 280x.

Same exact thing with me on a 970.

Hey bro, just saying I managed to alleviate the problem greatly by setting a 60fps lock using Nvidia Inspector and playing the game in Windowed (Borderless) AND turning V-sync (Sync Every Frame) on.

I'm not sure which one of these changes did the trick and I'm too lazy to experiment to find out, but I guess you could try what I did to see if it helps
