Fun fact about number notation: it confused the hell out of me for a brief moment as, at first, I always visualized a telephone number pad as opposed to a keyboard one...
As for QCF, et al; the problem is that is assumes a familiarity with not only English, but also Street Fighter, especially when you go beyond the circles and into DP/Z motions.
Just $.02 from a functioning Scrub...
The Numpad notation was made to actually DECREASE the number of characters in a combo or move... not increase it. And it succeeds in doing this if you replicate Marvel 3 or SF4 moves/combos into Numpad notations. The only exception is when you are putting down Half circle or 360 inputs as numpad... that's when things get nuts on a Numpad notation but for everything else it's more efficient to list as Numpad notation.Numpad notation is perhaps the stupidest thing of all things. I don't think for a second there is any pragmatic or legibility advantage as opposed to just using QCF etc. It really does sound to me like something someone made up just so they can make something seem more complicated for the sake of doing so, especially considering you can express the same still with the same number of meaningful letter characters as well.
But 3K is three kicksI find easier to grasp "3K" than "down forward kick".
But 3K is three kicks
I really wish Marvel was on PC.
But 3K is three kicks
heheFor Street Fighter you would use KKK for that instead because you don't have k, k, k strings in the game. Unless you're talking about SFxT but no one talks about SFxT!
how do you describe magnetic blast without numpad notation?
It's like DP, you just say MGBL because everyone obviously know the motion.
Absolutely nothing if you don't play Capcom games.the strength in numpad notation is that it actually tells you what vectors need to be accentuated in order to perform a move.
the hell is a dp motion
u, u/f, fhow do you describe magnetic blast without numpad notation?
"Up to forward".how do you describe magnetic blast without numpad notation?

I'm not going to lie, the first few times I heard Smash commentary with all of their fairs and bears I was sitting there going "WTF???"... but it didn't take that long to understand. There's some goofy terminology in Smash though (I always gomeanwhile in Smash

damn they recorded marz' inputs after doing a tiger knee on block
I wonder: what does the JP Smash community call nairs, fairs, etc?Try writing out combos for something like F/UC or HnK in written format. SRK A JCC SRK A JCC SRK A JCC SRK C JCC... fuck that.
