It's not like they ever officially broke up. They were having a fight. I'd like to bet that she's actually the one that goes to rescue him. And if not that it'll probably be a

Yeah, that's what I meant by my post. I mean, I originally thought they were going to be torn apart by Kuvira and Bolin being on her side. But they didn't break up (not that they had a chance). I originally assumed that plot would happen, but now...I'm just going to assume they'll make up as soon as he re-joins her.
EDIT: I just mean, prior to the season taking off, I thought that is where they were going with it. But I guess things are just going to back to how they were (I assume). That's kind of disappointing for Bolin's plot.

Probably I'm sure there may be a scene where she gloats over him saying I was right wasn't I to Bolin.
Unless it turns out she's the evil one hahah.

this was the same season with people cheating on each other, Asami wishing Mako the husband would take her back and Korra screaming and punching at everything that moved. Isn't exactly the best season for any of the krew.

Yeah, with some of the issues with jumpy behavior I'm not sure how much I can get on him.
Well, Bolin also was super douchey about Opal in Book 3. So I think they are being kind of consistent with Bolin being kind of a douche sometimes lol

you mean at the beginning? That was his douchey playboy persona that he put on with fangirls and girls interested in him that he wasn't in. The douchey persona didn't even last half an episode.
Yeah sure, but it still felt kind of scummy. The way he talked about Opal in the bathroom. Was super cringe to me (and kind of was a call back to his douchey persona as a mover in Book 2). But yeah, you are probably right that it wasn't mean to be taken that way.
EDIT: And yeah, it was only brief moments compared to his overall persona. Fair points.

This was at the beginning of book 3 so still pretty near book 2 diva Bolin. It was just meant to be taken as him putting on an act that worked with girls before and then Opal showing that unlike every other girl that was interested in him she liked his actual self vs just his fame/looks
I'm not saying Bolin's character is perfect, but I blame the writers now for wasting every opportunity they had with him. They already wasted the opportunity for morally grey bad guy where he fought his friends because they were actually doing good out there.
Now all we can hope for is for him to get rescued and then continue to kick the ass of the vehicles/mechs with lava bending.

I'm still expecting Kuvira to be overthrown. Her entire regime is pretty much based on fear, ignorance, and other people's stupidity. She removed the Earth King, so that takes care of the stupidity part, but the ignorance part is starting to unravel with Bolin, and you can't keep a large amount of subjects with fear alone, because they'll overthrow you once they realize that they can just team up against you.

I think that she'll be rivaled by those who recognize the bad things about her empire, but I don't see her being easily overthrown. Especially with that army. I'm sure it'll be an Alpha-Male/Female thing where Korra needs to kick her ass in battle.
But that will never happen.

Hurts you a lot more than it'll hurt me. With Kuvira I think they'll have to depose her and have to replace her with somebody that the people can rally behind. Earth Kingdom is pretty much a land without anything to cling to really so in order to keep them in check they'll have to give them somebody they can believe in. With Wu's current arc he'll wind up doing something I suppose to be able to sway the people. That or they just kick her ass into being able to compromise with Wu or something.

You say people can't be ruled by fear and force but it worked well enough for the fire kingdom when they captured an earth city.
I think we all know that Wu is going to come around and be the new ruler. But how they'll "dispose" (that's an ugly word, let's just say, "gently nudged from power") of Kuvira is what I'm interested in seeing.
As long as Wu doesn't fight Kuvira and win.

We all know she likes the guy, Varrick is just too caught up in science to realize it half the time. Who wouldn't date her, she's pretty cute if you like meganekko types
Kuvira will go the way of Amon. We will find out she's a fraud. She's secretly the disowned daughter of the old Earth Queen. Upset that her royal blood was denied, she decided to take back the thrown that was owed to her. All this talk about unity and her "system" bringing the earth kingdom out of a despair is a ruse, for her to get back at her mother issues and to reclaim her rightful throne.

I'm just being facetious. But they COULD have her be like a child from an affair (so she cast her out as a baby). Then Kuvira found out about it later, and got angry. So her anger isn't about the Monarch mistreating the people, but that she was disowned (ie. another daddy/mother issue plot like Amon).
lol, I don't think I could take that bet knowing how terrible Bryke is. Even though I'm just being tongue and cheek, tell me this awfulness wouldn't sound surprising coming from Bryke.
