Blizzard announces Overwatch. Team based MP Shooter [Up: Trailers, Screens, More]

And blizzard still has horrible content droughts for thier games when they develop new ones even after promising to put a stop to that.

Case in point: MoP -> WoD content drought is the longest one blizzard has done yet.

I'm not defending blizzard, I agree that their content updates are really spread too much apart from each other. Probably because they want to keep the expansion pack model alive despite market trends...not that they have a reason not to.

I had a ton of fun with TF2 but i feel like me, many people are getting bored of it and want something new. If blizzard is taking the initiative to make TF3 instead of valve I'm fine with that.

But can Blizzard make hats?

Hats? It's all about Ostrich costume these days.

This looks rad. Clearly influenced by TF2, but that's fine with me as I rather enjoy TF2 and there aren't many other games quite like it.

That cutesy cartoon trailer was an incredibly huge turn-off for me, but man, I can't lie, gameplay looks really cool.

You know, I gotta say I love like 80% of the art direction, including the environments and the actual character designs, but rewatching both trailers the actual character equipment aint really doing it for me. Its got this "Mass Effect meets Borderlands by way of Blizzard" look to it that I don't really like

*shrug*

Art work looks cool, but gameplay doesn't look fun... looks overly complicated (or maybe that's just from not being able to go hands on with it)

Looks fun, and I really wanna play it.

I'm looking forward to this future of PC gaming where Blizzard and Valve are consistently trying to one up each other. The heel turn begins when Warcraft 4 becomes a mod for Dota 2

Not particularly impressed with the gameplay, I hope there's more to it than what was shown.

Also, I expect a clusterfuck in terms of "balancing" this.

Could be interesting, can't really doubt blizzard when it comes to gameplay so it could be quite something if handled right.

Sorry was on my phone.

The map that I played was just a simple capture the objective points. Played two rounds - one as an attacker, one as a defender.

I played Bastion mostly. Being able to turn into a turret was fun. I tried the dude with the bow and arrow, but shooting the arrows didn't really feel like they had an impact. The other person was Pharah(?). Didn't like her at all, whatever her normal shot was didn't really go anywhere near where I was target so that was frustrating/annoying so I switched right after I got killed.

The game looks amazing. I didn't really experience any bugs or glaring issues with the game. Like they said, it's a lot further along than we would've thought.

Wow, this looks like so much fun! It's been a while since a gameplay trailer for a FPS made me this excited to try it out and I've not even played other Blizzard games. Just seems like an absolute blast to play (if its well balanced, that seems like its Achilles' heel currently).

Great to finally get a game that might rival Team Fortress 2, which still has somewhat of a monopoly on the Class-Based Shooter genre. Fantastic artstyle too; a good 3D cartoon-ish look like this is hard to get right but this looks more Pixar than Knack/Dreamworks (which is a good thing). Great animations, great character designs (not quite TF2 levels of originality, but still pretty awesome), tons of personality and beautiful graphics. If this is F2P I'm pretty sure it'll be among the most popular games in that category within a year, especially if it comes to consoles with proper updates. It just seems like a game that knows what its doing.

Oh, and if running up walls is as smooth in-game as in the trailer I'm gonna be Mirror's edgin with that Hanzo dude 24/7.

Say what?

There's two Blizzards really. There's the history and the tap into the esports world with SC/SC2. Then there's everything that came after WoW.

They're making this an FPS Hearthstone, looking at the tidbits from developers.

I find myself thinking the exact opposite: the gameplay looks interesting, while the artwork doesn't really grab me.

Then again, the only Blizzard art style I ever like was the one in Diablo 2.
