It wasn't even just proper combos. She wall teched, understood item toss/dropping, had good/great DI, amazing patience and reads and knew how to stay out of bad situations. It's just so wild knowing she's 10 doing even two of these things simultaneously. Having the whole kit is just whoa.

Fantastic. She's showing some genuine skill with Shiek in that first match that can't be denied. Probably not going to run a train on EVO right now, but if she starts training at the competitive level.. I'd love to see a 12 year old girl in the fold for main stage competitions.

FWIW, I would think that they also don't want the reputation of losing to a kid. They were clearly trying.

Smash 4 plays incredibly differently from Smash 64 or Melee. I'd argue it's more brainless in the sense that the game rewards the shit out of camping and not really doing anything over "button mashing".

Smash by design doesn't reward button mashing, it's just not how it works.
