Kuvira is whatever. I think she had potential. I guess she still does. There are things I still like about her. But I can honestly say, she's not anywhere as interesting as Amon, or Zaheer. At least not yet. And that really kind of worries me given she's supposed to be THE final conflict of the series. BUT...just me though. Some seem to really like her already. So I hope I end up coming to your side by the back half. I really want to like her, since I actually did like the idea of her early on.

The recent arc is nice. Although the last chapter's revelation about the titans was a bit irritating. But the arc overall is nice.
I actually read up to the last chapter. So I agree it's starting to get interesting. But I just can't hang in there anymore. Eren is the worst protagonist ever. And the once a month format is fuckin terrible.
I know i know..welcome to Shonen. I only recently got heavily into Anime 3 years ago. Devoured film, and then worked my way to TV shows. Still not 100% into Manga. But I got hooked on Titan. Ripped through all the manga. And now I'm just over the story (at least for now).
I'll probably wait 2 years and then catch up.
I couldn't keep watching a show where the main character cries and has a monologue of self-pity every episode. It's a shame since the premise seemed pretty cool, but I couldn't take it anymore. I had enough of the crying-hero archetype after watching Eureka Seven.
I dunno, I find Titan to be one of the most frustrating stories I have ever read, largely because the author keeps digging himself deeper. Even with some of the most recent happenings, this genre shift that he took isn't exactly engaging me.
Yeah, I got into AoT recently (only the anime) and while I loved it at the beginning, it now kind of seems too frustrating to revisit. The story is fascinating and I want to know more about the Titans, but Eren is even more annoying than Korra from Book 1 and 2.
No wonder most people cosplay as Mikasa.
This fight had me more emotionally invested then the Sasuke Naruto fight I've been waiting for 8 years.
It was SO FUCKING GOOD. I really didn't expect both of them to survive then that Katara move? Godlike. Fucking godlike.
As for AoT I really don't like Eren. Mikasa who was boring as all shit actually had some personality when she wasn't with Eren and I felt that if expanded upon, she could have easily been protagonist after a certain even early on in the series but noooooo we just gotta keep up with boring ass, annoying and insufferable eren.
.....I really hate eren. At least I like Korra.
Honestly, I've seen worse. AoT is certainly not the second coming of Christ, no matter how hard some people hype it, but it's fairly entertaining for me. I am or was much more frustrated with the endless pandering of Claymore in the last arc, the way Detective Conan is keeping it's actually interesting main plot buried under literally hundreds of unrelated cases or the fact that good manga series like Double Arts and Asklepios get strangled in their craddle, while Bleach and Naruto kept on and on and on.

Fuck Eren, that show's all about Mikasa. Yusuke Urameshi is an example I'm going to use for my prior statement. He's punch heavy as well, but occasionally he'll come up with something interesting at least. Though I'll admit he lucked through most of his fights before the Saint Beast arc.

Too bad Korra doesn't have a long lasting nemesis that could really drive an emotional wedge. The fights will be good but I wish Kuvira was introduced early on in S3 and was more emotionally invested in the Avatar only to witness how broken she was and how she decides to take matters into her own hands.
Anything to make a fight thats both compelling and emotionally gripping, which is so rare. That said Korra vs Zaheer was so fucking god tier.

The main character is a bit like a less innocent Aang. This show handles it's locations and characters very well and although it's shounen and it's bright colours it get's really dark at times.

Adapted from a manga, there are two series. I recommend the second one, Brotherhood, since the first one was made before the amazing manga was finished and jumped the shark at some point. If your fantasy series in a fictional world of alchemy and supernatural beings somehow ends up in actual nazi germany something went wrong.
It has a wonderful story, amazing characters and really cool fights. They series never gets DBZ, characters strength is in logical reason and rifles are not useless, despite half immortal monsters, mutants and Alchemists running around. The latter are technically mages, but I don't want call them that, since their powers have much more internal logic than most mage powers in anything.

this show is dogshit. But it's strangely entertaining dogshit. If you're able to endure heavy fanservice and terrible lack of logic, this show is nice to watch. Especially the Spin-Off Toaru no Kagaku no Railgun is fairly ok. It's set in a futuristic city were Espers are grown. The city is full oc mad scientists, dark secrets in in constant conflict with the churches of the world, who fight science with magic. It's the kind of shit, were you scratch your ass and say "yep, that was kind of shitty", but with a smile on your face.

JoJo is weird, but it follows more of an anthology series.
Imagine if each Avatar had a single season and then they moved on to the next Avatar in the next one, and that's kind of the premise.
Part 1 follows a character and Part 2 follows that characters grandson and Part 3 Follows the Grandson Grandson, it's also weird and awesome at the same time and most of the characters are likable.
I think part 1 is the worst, but it's so short. (8EP) and you get to one of the greatest parts in the series (Part 2)

Maybe, I just recommended these because they fit with Korra - interesting fantasy worlds with young, but not childish characters as leads. And Index for shits and giggles.

JoJo is interesting because of how...bizzare it is. Even though in the beginning JoJo was basically a derivative Fist of the North Star (Johnathan is basically a dapper British Kenshiro), as the series progressed it definitely came into it's own. WIth each new Part, they also cycled the personalities not only the protagonists, but also the villains which creates fresh scenarios. It also has some of creative battles given the uniqueness of some of the powers in the series, which become more evident in later parts.
It also helps that I love classic rock, and this series has endless shoutouts to it.

The first 2 and a half parts are subbed. They are going to finish part 3 next year.
They finished part 7 in the manga. So if you are going the Manga route then you have a lot of content to go through. But Part 2, 4 and 7 are all really high parts in the series.

I'm an anime guy. It's just easier that way for me. Usually when I try a manga I eventually forget my place. I tried getting through the Guyver and Claymore mangas, never finished.
Well, you still have two entire seasons you can go through.
(Just a note, Part three is a lot longer than part 1 and 2. Like twice as long as both of them combined)

No. The flawed hero is one of the basic archetypes in writing. It's only when characters are really unlikable (personality wise) -- or how they tell their story which can sometimes make the flawed hero really grating. Korra is a pretty good example of them doing it wrong. The writers wanted Korra's redemption after Origin to be really big. So they purposely made her as unlikable as possible (the writers even said that they hated Korra with a passion in the first half of Book 2). This is pretty lazy writing.
Don't you ever have things you don't like? Story's you aren't a fan of? And it's not like, you can't still watch something if you have these issues. Because there can be other things in the story that you like. It also doesn't mean you flat out hate a genre, or a type of character. Sometimes you just don't think it's done right.
EDIT: Also, it's totally fine if not everyone agrees. Like I could say X character or x story isn't done well, and you could say it is. Doesn't make either of us wrong. Sa'll good.

Yeah it's a must see movie in theaters. No doubt. Kind of iffy on the script tbh. But I was able to walk away from the overall experience floored.
EDIT: I agree with Jaded, not his best movie (maybe visually). But I still think it was amazing to see.

That movie felt it's length. At least with his other movies there's enough interesting stuff on there going on to help with the pace. Interstellar had no lube.

Disagreed. I didn't feel the length at all. I think it just depends how immersed you get into it. I found everything so enthralling that time just passed by and the movie ended before I knew it. The performances, the camera work, the directing, and the soundtrack were pretty damn great. The science behind the film for the most part is structurally sound and even Neil deGrasse Tyson had little to mention in Twitter about nitpicks. Nolan got an expert on the subject who helped him all throughout the writing. Even Stephen Hawking seemed to have like the film. Of course they could nitpick issues if they felt like it but it seems like they appreciate that a hard sci-fi blockbuster film was even made in the first place. The writing has some plot holes, but there's a clear line between misunderstanding a concept and thinking it's a plothole vs actually finding one. We've had people in the spoilers thread spend pages arguing that shit like a laptop controlling the gates were immersion breaking.
As to the more surreal aspects of the plot, I guess it depends on the person on whether they were able to let it slide, hate it, or embrace it.
I felt the length with each of the dark knight films and with inception. Personally it's now my favorite Nolan film.

It's one of those different strokes for different folks movies. It looked and sounded nice and being scientifically sound helps. I just couldn't get attached to anybody in the movie. I liked Murphy but that's about it.

I'm also a big fan of Matthey McConaughey and his performance and character were great. Also the robots, especially TARS, are my dream robots now.
Amon's original-made up backstory about being an emissary of the spirits would've fitted perfectly with the Book 2 story arch and even carried over into the rest of the season.
I don't have time to look for it, but Amon being a plot by the Spirits (Koh, perhaps) or Vaatu was the subject of a great LoK fanart-fiction on DevianArt that would've even made Amon's true backstory as Noatak acceptable.
