Do people still think the -a version of the word is a term of endearment and totally different from -er?

Can we deal with 12-year-old white boys dropping that shit on XBOX LIVE first?
If this thread lasts, he may have some company lol
No that's not their fault. If us negroes would stop using it, racism would end at that very moment. Can we deal with 12-year-old white boys dropping that shit on XBOX LIVE first?
yeah, if black people stopped using it, all of the racists would totally abandon it too...

Nigga is often used in the context of a good friend or brother from another mother. But if people get offended by it, they are in their right to do so.
similarly, if unarmed black people wanted to stop getting shot by police and wannabe authority figures then they should pull up their pants
this is yet another example of respectability politics
I do find it strange that black people use the word "nigger" or "nigga" against other black people.
That would be like me calling my friends "spicks", beaner or some other word deriving from it. (both of us being hispanics)
I think everyone should stop using it, IMO.

Basically this, but I don't mind when other people use it/someone refers to me by it.I used to see no problem with it and I used to use it as a sentence filler growing up. But as I got older I realized that it's still a word born from hate. I don't find enjoyment from co-opting a word that racists used to demean us for centuries.
I don't expect every black person to feel this way and I know my views could be considered extreme, but personally, for me it's disrespectful to my ancestors who were called this while going through centuries of slavery and physical abuse. For me it just feels wrong now to call another black person "nigga".
no. what they're supposed to do is be armed and shoot first.

For starters some black people use nigga as a term of endearment and it is not for you, some douchebag from the UK or anyone us to tell us what we should or shouldn't call each other.
People who understand context do

you're hispanic? Do you ever use the word "Ciao"?
Other black people or anyone?Basically this, but I don't mind when other people use it/someone refers to me by it.
k, Mr. Cranky
Other black people or anyone?
How am I cranky?
White dude upset that he can't have one thing, so no one can have that thing.
I would hope so.Im guessing other black people.
Pretty much, of all the racism to tackle he chooses a non issue that been well tread.
Watch he will be on some show talking about how black people are now mad at him for speaking the truth.

I'm Hispanic. Never had used it, is that like good buy in some language right? There's a bastardization of that word 'chau' that we rarely use.
I would hope so.
He can go on O'reilly and they can talk about all of the problems with the "black community" and what black people should or shouldn't being doing.
There's no real functional difference between "nigga" or "Nigger" like there's no real difference between "kinda" and "Kind of"
It's said/spelled differently as a means to more closely replicate how the word/phrase is said out loud in speech. It's not a conscious choice that denotes a subtle difference in intent. It's literally the exact same word, it's just a matter of pronunciation based on the regional dialect you're using - although there are some people who believe the definition of the word DOES change based on its pronunciation, and that seems to have come about based on the continued misunderstanding that what's important is the vowel sound at the end of the word, and not the race and intent of the person using it. That misunderstanding is often kept afloat by white boys hungry to find a loophole that allows them to say the word they know they shouldn't be saying, pass or no pass.
Piers Morgan is a fucking idiot, also.
in Italian it's goodbye and hello in Spanish i'm pretty sure it's only goodbye, it's slang and rarely used but it is considered a Spanish term. Originally it came from the term "schiavo" which is roughly Italian for "slave". often used by Italians when classifying slaves. Spaniards heard this term and thought the term was pronounced "ciao" (since the v is barely heard).
Anyways my point being is personal meanings of words change over time, when blacks use the N-word it's not in the same way a slave owner from the 1800's used it.
