Looks crazy fast paced and really different.

But now that Halo 1-3 (and 4) are on the xbone, I don't really care if it's different if it still feels like Halo at it's core. When I wanna play the older stuff, I'll just go do that.

I like the way you think. Also, I think it looks different but still gives the Halo gameplay vibe.
 
I'm actually... very impressed with the new abilities.

Thruster is refreshing if it means we lose jetpack. Armor lock is also out, so I'm happy enough. Looks like it's taking elements from various games while taking care to maintain the Halo formula... and I am okay with this.
 
Kiki Wolfkill is the greatest name of all time.

That match looked just like Halo. I think people are looking for something to complain about. Can't wait!

Midship looks huge. Thanks sprint! Seriously, why can't they just remove that shit and increase the base player speed? It's not rocket science...

ADS may be just a reskinned scope, but it looks horrible. If it's really just a reskinned scope, then they better give us the option to use the classic zoom. Having half your screen obscured by the weapon is horrible. Fuck that shit.

Ledge grabbing sucks too. Enough with the hand holding. If a player misses a jump, then he should fall, end of story.
 
This looks like a faster Halo, and to be honest I'm OK with that. We'll always have MCC for classic Halo multiplayer and I'm cautiously optimistic about Halo 5.

343 not fucking around with a 3 week beta either, which gives me more reason to believe.

Maps are designed so that really hard ledge grabs work like crouch jump spots for good players. Obviously loads of easy grabs too, for regular people.

And crouch jumping also still works. Third tier of that skill set.

Interesting. Alright then, as long as it isn't a get-out-of-jail-free-you-fucked-up-the-jump card.

Looks like a BIG step up from Halo 4 MP, but a bit intimidating knowing I will have to learn and master all these new abilities.

I like the fact that they seem to be bringing back skilled play to Halo MP.

Looked pretty amazing to me. A little too COD AW with the ground pounds but the mobility looks refreshing otherwise. Gameplay looked like Halo with more gameplay mechanics added. Will definitely play it next month :D

Also like the no shield recharge while sprinting. That should slow things down a bit.
 
Looked pretty promising IMO.

I'm not going to get too hyped cause Halo 4 was such a shit-show, but weapons on maps and the faster pace looks great.

They're saying all the right things about the abilities balance-wise too.

We shall see.

Now would Midnight please arrive so I can get some Halo:MCC inside me?

Getting more interested now. Please don't let me play as MC for only 10% of the time however.
 
It looks really promising. As close to halo as I can wish for while evolving the gameplay. As long as maps are all well designed, this could be fucking brilliant.
 
So, do we know the timeline for Nightfall Episode 2-5? Like, are they monthly or bi-monthly or something?

They got asked and werent clear about it on the stream

That's actually how it ended up working out. We were worried about not giving them enough scrimmage time. But that's a real game.

Very cool sir. You guys have done an amazing job so far. Looking forward to what you have in stored for us.

Other observation: loved the jumping animation match intro. Wonder if that's just for the simulation level, there for all maps, or different for each. Nice touch regardless.

Yeah, looks like they being smart about this. I do welcome it looks faster paced than traditional halo, a good way to modernize it IMO.

Only thing I'm particularly disappointed with is the kill-times. It seems like you lose shield way too fast. That is one thing I hate about call of duty, you die fast and the game takes no strategy.

Time to kill seems slightly fast but that could just be because the entire game is faster. BR is still 4 shot.

Get DMR out of the game please. As long as there's still a large skill component and ranked multiplayer I'm ok with some evolution to my Halo.

Kill times too low.

Also not a fan of the shrill beep after each hit landed.

Looks really bleh. TTK seems too low, and while not recharging while sprinting is an interesting concept, it looks to slow the pace of the game a lot.

I'm really not sure how people can say they hated Halo 4 but like 5 when 5 looks to go even further with stuff introduced in 4.

You guys did a good job on Halo 5 Frankie, I am genuinely excited for Halo 5. Looks so good visually, and to think it is about 10 - 11 months out from release.
 
Hoping to see some 60fps gameplay soon. My only complaints are that the sword is too damn bright, I couldn't see shit when the dude was running around with it. The ground pound looks like it could be really abused. The dmr sounds like it did in Halo 4...sounds like a big thump on a table, not a gun.

Other than that I'm pretty blown away. Love the speed/movement especially, seems like a natural progression of Halo to me. Thruster is fucking dope.
 
I am pleased. I like what I've seen. No AA, no loadouts, no ordnance. Map control, team play, solid movement suite. Graphics look pretty damn spiffy for a year out and they'll have lots of time to take in fan feedback.

Now I just need to play.

I feel like I'm going to hate ground pound. Aside from that Im not going to complain to much.

I just feel really indifferent about it. I feel like I'll never use it.

Like how many of you that have played COD: AW use the ground pound/know it even exists? You don't. You use double jump and lateral thrust pretty exclusively.

Weekly starting this week i believe. There's an armor set for the beta tied to watching all 5 episodes so it has to be done by the 29th of December.

That footage looked pretty outstanding, but I have one question that hopefully Frank or someone else could answer.

The Prophet's Bane isn't replacing the classic energy sword, is it? ;_;

Bravo, one of the casters, said that it was a legendary weapon when it was picked up so I'm guessing there are a set of those in the game that give buffs to the player.
