I did my part. The Halo collection plus the price drop was too much to ignore. It's taking some getting used to the console but having a blast playing Halo 2 in it's new found glory.

Why does there always have to be some type of spin in these statements?

So that:

- it reads more positively than it actually is
- misleads other 'journalist' who write about this stuff into misleading their audience

Well, it's probably not so far from the truth. The reality is that all companies want to talk about themselves in the most flattering light possible, and how far companies stretch the spin of that fact is up to their own discretion.

MS has shown to be really willing to stretch theirs.

I honestly don't see Bloodborne as a system seller.

Possibly a great game in a long line of exclusives, but not a game I'll think is a deciding factor in getting a PS4.

May want to check out any Bloodborne thread. Tons of comments about getting the PS4 with Bloodborne.

Considering every policy shift, various limited edition hardware bundles every free game promotion, and dropping the price to damn near Wii U level MS has done the past few months they ought to out sell the PS4 for at least a month.

Wait HOLD THE PHONES I just now realized something rereading the PR statement

Compared to the previous week, Xbox One sales in the US have more than tripled, which is exciting as more and more friends will be playing together this holiday.

Could this not also mean that the first two weeks of November = >3x the last week of October? The way it's worded "sales have more than tripled" implies a per week sales assumption but never actually says that. So instead of two weeks of 3x sales each it could technically be two weeks of 1.5x sales each. Now that's some epic spin. Holy shit.

so where them sunset overdrive bundles?

All on amazon and going for $500 at least, because for some reason Microsoft decided to make it limited edition. Last I checked, there were over 50 of them too, which is outrageous for someone like who wanted one. Really don't know why they did that.

I heard Aqua posted once after her banning before she requested the resuming of her ban.

I'm STILL holding on to the hope she's gonna do the same for the NPD thead. One post before she poofs again like a sales-age Mary Poppins.

BELIEVE.

Also, I remember when cream sugar said they lost their source and couldn't share NPD totals anymore, there was supposedly some hidden text in that post, that was only revealed if you quoted it, that hinted it could have been a joke. It was a "lol" or something..

Did anyone else remember that or was that ever confirmed...

Edit, it appears we don't know if this is true or not, not yet..

While it's easy to parse the PR and find caveats galore - nearing 10m shipped, leading for the past two weeks in the US - it's nice to get an update on shipments and the price cut had a marked effect. Now to see what it translates to in terms of end user sales and whether it's sustained over the holidays.

...actually that's a lot of caveats.

But shouldn't sold-in mean that MS already got paid for those shipments? Or will they not get paid until customer buys it?

Even though the second week sales are close, in the first week Xbone sold like gangbusters. PS4 will have to outsold Xbone with a great margin in BF to cover the sales difference of the first week, which I doubt it's gonna happen with all the crazy Xbone BF deals.
Ya, I agree. If for some reason Microsoft doesn't take November there's gonna be a hell of a lot of 'concern' threads to wade through here.

Yup. I am waiting to snag a bone on black Friday. To good a deal to pass up right now. Although if Halo was not out I would have waited.

They can spin as much as they'd like, but it doesn't change the fact that Xbox is irrelevant outside of US and UK. Even if they end up winning November and December it won't do much on a grand scale.

I see you're trying to find meaning in the Microsoft comma, but it is a dangerous path to go down.

You stare long enough at the Microsoft comma, the comma stares back at you.

MS better be able to take November from Sony with the Holiday bundle. If they do not... well that isn't good for anyone since Sony will have no reason to go crazy to make awesome bundles.

However, I do see the GTAV Bundle selling like hot cakes.

If you go by there monthly NA average of about 200 a month then that would be about 50k a week. So possilbly they made about 150 to 250 in that week. Give or take since my math is bad. Also that last week would also have people waiting for the new pricing too.

They had 2M Bones stuffed in the channel 3 weeks ago. Why they stuffing so much? 6M sold to customers and 4M in channel? That seems insane.

Is that really so insane for the holidays?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they are hoping/expecting to sell 3 million+ consoles in these two months.

Christ. It's like some loaded clause marker which initiates deceit. I stared too long.
