The Millar/Murphy team was announced ages ago and they said they wouldn't unviel the book until it was finished. It's finished. Tokyo Ghost is still good to go.

meanwhile Grant Morrison has to turn his failed movie pitches into comics from some comic studio nobody heard of and never promotes anything

I'm not generally a Mark Millar fan, I don't like the themes he's gone with in some of his comics. BUT I do love me some Sean Murphy art, so I'll at least check it out :D

they also got Hawkeye's A-list craftspeople Matt Hollingsworth on colors and Chis Eliopoulos lettering

This is going to be a great writing exercise for me. Somebody give me a log line. I'll write one comic/outline a week. First person to pitch me a log line. I do.
 
Due to the talk about it, I reread the arc of Doom Patrol with Willoughby Kipling and the Cult. I'm so glad I did. It refreshed my mind on why Doom Patrol is basically my all-time favorite comic. So incredibly creative and amazing.
 
Speaking of Sean Murphy, did anyone back that Cafe Racer Anthology he kickstarted? Wish I paid more attention that that stuff :(
 
Ray Fawkes was on Twitter asking what people thought of Constantine 19 and he said it was probably the darkest story in the new52. So I bought issue 18-19 and they were really good!
 
Original Sin:

I finished issue 5 and I'm jumping into the Avengers tie-in issues now. I also read the Original Sins Young Avengers mini which was pretty fun, and the Secret Avengers tie-in that kinda felt pointless.

I love Fury's new "Secret Warriors"-esque team with Bucky, Moon Knight, Gamora, T'Challa, Strange, Punisher, Scott Lang, Emma Frost etc. but I have a feeling now that he's revealed himself, there's not much else that will be happening with them. Probably my biggest criticism of the book so far, and a typical criticism for Marvel events - it just feels rushed. I would have loved for these guys to do a real team up and get a big arc or something, but it appears to be over before it went anywhere. Also, wasn't She-Hulk involved at some point? She just disappeared after the first issue or two.

I'm guessing what they're about to establish is that Fury has been operating this space station for decades, maybe even from the very beginning, and whatever he was doing had to be kept silent and he killed Uatu, but didn't intend for the secrets to come out. If that's the case, I'm guessing Fury isn't going to come out of this thing alive and we'll be stuck with Fury Jr. from this point on.

Steve confronting Tony about the Illuminati was pretty chilling. I only read the first issue of the Avengers arc so far but it was a good one as usual. I was waiting for that Time Gem to show up again.

Sorry for the giant wall of black. Just wanted to spoiler in case anyone else is going through the trade like me.
 
Wow, all these artists getting thirsty for them Screenplay monies if they are desperate enough to collaborate with Mark Millar on garbage. Quitley, Parlov, Gibbons and now Murphy... for shame.

Don't think that's the case. Whatever you may think of Millar, plenty of artists would like to work with him. He also pays artists more and basically out of his pocket. I don't think these are true collabs where they would get money in case of a movie. Could be wrong though. He also tends to pick artists who are already quite established and have no trouble making money.
 
I still don't trust Millar enough to blind-buy any of his books, but Starlight was good enough for me to have hope he may poop out one or two more gems before he finally stops writing movie pitches, err comics.

It always reminds me of an old TMNT demo I played on PS2. One of the turtles said it every time you did a certain move.

Yeah, the TDKR Animated Movie is my favourite Batman Animated Movie^^
 
Read a bunch yesterday/this morning:

Drifter #1 -- Not as exciting as I would have hoped, but visuals are nice.
Wytches #2 -- The bump on her neck is disgusting. One of my favorite new reads.
All-New Cap #1-- I wasn't expecting asshole Falcon, so I was thrown for a loop.
Superior Iron Man #1 -- As above, I was surprised. Douchebag Tony was unexpected since I stopped reading AXIS.
Silver Surfer #7 -- One of my favorite reads for the solo Marvel series. Still fun!
Bucky Barnes #2 -- Love the visuals, but story a bit confusing to follow due to how it is laid out.
Hawkeye vs. Deadpool #2 --- Meh, not as good as the first issue.
Outcast #5 -- Narrow approach, but I'm still digging the series.
Alex + Ada #10 -- Finally is all I'll say to avoid spoilers.
Spider-Verse #1 -- I enjoyed the short stories.
Thor #2 -- Not fully on board yet. I miss the kickass series that was before this.
Wild's End #3 -- If it wasn't Abnett, I would have dropped it.

Still have to read Batman #36, Walking Dead #134, Fade Out #3, Guardians 3000 #2, Ultimate Spidey #7, and maybe one other. Opted not to buy October Faction #2 since I still haven't found #1 in stores.
