Especially because there are big-two comics on your non-big-two shelf. Vertigo and Wildstorm count as DC, bro.
At this point, I think getting rid of Morning Glories is a good move, period.
That shelf holds all of my TPBs/standard-sized hardcovers. The Marvel and DC stuff is to the left, but the photo doesn't show it. What I meant is that on the shelf, the Marvel and DC stuff is organized well, but all the non-big two comics on that shelf are pretty disorganized.

Issue to issue it reads badly, but in collected form, I think it's pretty addicting.

To be honest, I like the TPBs more. I bought the hardcover of volume one really cheap used, so I got that, but I went with a TPB for volume 2 because I didn't feel like paying $6 or something more literally just for the hard cover. The hardcover isn't oversized and both the hardcover and paperback have the exact same binding, paper, and content, so you might as well go with the paperbacks for Elephantmen.
And speaking of Elephantmen, I think the bonus content in volume one of Elephantmen with Richard Starkings giving a history lesson on sci-fi comics was my favorite part of the book. Haha. I absolutely loved that.

read wicked + divine, kind of a letdown but I like the concept. the first trade feels like all setup. kind of expecting minerva to be extra pivotal later on.

So I took about 70% of my single issues and 8 trades of mine I didn't really like to Half Price and sold them. I coupled the money they gave me with a $15 off coupon to buy some new comics without spending a dime.

Honestly, I wish I could keep my collections uniform like some of y'all, but I've bought most of my collections used/second hand so I didn't usually get much of a choice between HCs and softcovers. For example, my Cap collection is comprised of an Ultimate Collection, regular softcovers and premiere HCs. Similar deal with some of my other collections. It's only bad if I get an oversized HC or an Omnibus. There's no way I can place my Invincible Iron Man omni next to my regular Extremis trade. It just looks *absurd*/nerdproblems
In order to make sure I don't double dip on trades, I started making a spreadsheet of the ones I have and ones I need. This is gonna take me forever. This was a bad/good idea. Anybody else do this?

it really is, I read all the way up to issue 40 and was blowing me away how addicting the whole thing was with each issue ending on a cliffhanger. But I can definitely see how it would be a nightmare to read this issue by issue, it benefits more from binge reading.
I feel like this is missing something. Something which was integral to my enjoyment of issue #1.
Pretty sure this Alex Ross fella didn't get the memo about what fans of Tooth and Claw really enjoy.

Today, while organizing my collection a little, I became very perplexed when I realized that I read Fables deluxe edition vol 7 before I read vol 6. I flipped both books and I remember stuff from vol 7, but everything in vol 6 was all new to me...like I have no recollection of reading it. I can not figure out how that happened and I'm a bit ocd about reading stuff in order. This was just when I was about to get started on vol 8.

They're not going to plaster that on the cover. They put it on the inside so people need to buy the book to partake in tiger boobs. This serves to finance tiger boobs in future issues.

I just don't see Alex Ross painting tiger boobs. Now lion boobs, or Elephant balls is a whole other story, I could see him getting behind those.

DC is going bananas with the Batman B&W statues. They're re-releasing a ton of old ones in addition to the new ones. They're cool, but a bit pricey for the size. I'll definitely grab hipster Batgirl, and maybe the Mignola one:
Speaking of statues, I preordered Cover Girl Harley. I love the Cover Girl collection.

Finished the first arc of the fuse that was in the CMX sale. It was a solid murder mystery case. I enjoyed that they played it straight and didn't cheat to get a reveal that didn't make sense. That also meant I had it figured out midway through but that's fine. Mysteries need to leave clues to allow people to figure it out while also enjoying the roller coaster ride of numerous suspects. Again another book that benefits having the whole volume together and able to read in one shot.

Just read the Jonah Hex No Way Back OGN and it sure hit the spot on wanting to read a western. Tony DeZuniga's art was pretty rough but it fit the tone of the book really well, some really great spreads as well.
