I'm really liking the nameplates when important characters show up

The queue times are absurd right now. I'd imagine many people aren't logging because of it, and it's making it worse.

I'm a bit surprised at how bad this launch is. I wasn't there for MoP launch but Cata was almost flawless at least on my server.

Not to excuse them but I think they made a lot of under the hood changes with WoD that probably needed more testing. It also wasn't the best idea to give a much, much hyped expansion a single point of entry, especially with the garrison server.

I'm guessing they are figuring they will weather the storm for a few days until people get more spread out.

Ok so my night is ruined....

Just went to my Local Media Markt and bought the new expansion there after finding out that they sold it for 33 euros which is an amazing deal.

So i bought the game and immediately return home, turn on my computer and go to my battle net account.

I unpack the box and notice that there is no shrink wrap and that a cd is loose in the box which immediatly strikes me as odd... so anyways i continue on my battle net account to enter the Game Key.... and you've probably guessed it by now.. the key is already in use.............

Fuck that shit and fuck my luck because there were literally a ton of copies laying in the store. And to make matters worse, by the time i found out the shop was already closed.

Fuck my life.

Edit: And what makes this especially sour to me is the fact that they sell games in these big protected plastic boxes that only they can open at the counter.. so it probably was an employee that stole the code... T.T

I've had a smooth launch, but I'm playing in a medium population server (Hellscream) and I've just arrived into Shadowmoon so I probably should prepare for the worst now. Luckily I'm a slow leveler so I'll probably fall behind the general crowd.

I haven't played yet(will probably start tomorrow), but i'm surprised at all the launch issues.

I don't remember Cata and MoP launches being that bad(BC and WotLK are too far away for me to remember). Or is there THAT many players returning to the game since the Lich King expansion?

Not really, since 99.5% of the servers in EU are UNplayable.

Well i guess that softens the blow a little ^.^;

Although i'm more worried about returning it than i am about not being able to play right now.

They could just call me a liar or something, or say that i gave the code away or whatever excuse they can find.

Well, here's what awaits you once you get past the 4,000 person queue:
  1. Select character.
  2. Loads for a bit.
  3. Fails.
  4. Returns to character select screen with comment: Character not found.

If I make it through this queue just to not be able to select my character...I don't even...

maybe but if that happens, you can contact blizzard maybe they can give you the date on which the key was used.

Garrisons are killing their instance servers :(

My server is getting worse and worse overall, by 8pm it will probably be unplayable or just offline.

new update from blues

In attempts to pinpoint latency related issues we’ve temporarily lowered the maximum number of people allowed in each realm. This will result in higher queue times as realms who have populations above the cap will not allow any new players in until it decreases back down below the new player cap. We’re continuing work on this and other issues impacting game latency.

Those queues about to double in size lol

Fun stuff.. the bugged quest finally spawned after 4 hours. I finally accept the quest thinking I can finally play again only to find it is a quest to go back to my garrison which currently do not work.

Le sigh. I don't remember these issues for cataclysm and mists, but i guess something was bound to break with all the new in this xpac. What i maanaged to play was fun while it lasted, so i'm not overly bummed.

Argh I'm so mad. I logged in remotely over an hour ago while I waited the queue down...I get home and I get a disconnected message. I try to log back in, 2.8k queue for Kel'Thuzad. 90+ minutes. Arghh oh well time to do something else

This is why they should have stress tests/open betas.

Blizzard has a VERY good idea about the demand that is going to be put on the servers but their hesitance to just spend a ton of money on extra server space that is going to be obsolete once all these people start thinning in out in couple days or so is understandable.

They do have them. They also had tons of negative feedback about the pre-launch event.

They don't care.

They had an open beta for WoD?

I doubt they would have to buy new blades. I'm sure they have backup hardware on standby.

I haven't played WOW in several years, and I was totally casual when I did. I think my character only ever got to level 56.

Still, I think I want to come back. With the level 90 upgrade.... do I have to apply it to an existing character, or can I create a new one afterward? I'm probably not going to pick this up for a week or so, so I'll be behind the curve as usual, but this would be good to know because I was thinking that I might create a new character on my return.

How do you log in remotely?

Logged into Frostmourne this morning (it was 4am in Australia I think) and it had a 700 person queue lol.

Moved all my shit from there.

2.5k queue on Ravencrest EU. I'm fucking out, gonna sleep and wake up at like 3 am and see if Shadowmoon Valley might finally be semi playable...

Some of this could have caught then off guard. Last two expansion launches were the opposite of this. Totally smooth.

I'm wondering if there's a lot more people coming back for this than with Mists or if shit just broke last night.\
