aha thx for the memory trip. Gonna watch Illegal Danish one more time because of you.

Oh man this never gets old. And people talking about MC yeah times have changed a lot also for raiding but back then..even today it feels massive. LFR though like i said on the last page no more now i got my mount a lot of people never played it like i did with a dedicated group of 40 man.

Okay I got a copy of Warlords of Draenor for Christmas and I'm kinda stuck on where to start. I knew I was getting it so I had installed the client already so I can jump in at any time now once I reactivate my subscription. The last time I played was during World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. I have MoP from a sale last year even when I wasn't played. Right now my highest characters looking at my account are a level 80 Human Paladin, a level 55 Worgen Druid, and a level 63 Human Death Knight. I can push either of these to 90 but rather not right away as I'm not sure how to play those classes anymore due to not playing for such a long time. I'm sure once I start messing around with them some tactics will come back unless things have changed that much.

Any suggestions on what should be done? Just push one of the characters? Start a new class and boost it? Does the game offer armor regardless to get people started at level 90s or is that on you?

Did Blizzard take into account old players returning and offer a tutorial of sorts if you boost a character to 90? A crash course on how to play the game for example?

Blizzard gave Mists of Pandaria to all accounts for free. If I were you I would honestly just boost something to 90. The game will dole abilities out back slowly, and you will get the armor that you need even if you just boost. The game is very forgiving. Most classes/specs will identify the core spells that you need to use inside the ability tab, but if you want there are very literal crash courses that Blizzard has uploaded to Youtube.

If you have a really strong attachment to an old character they might be worth sticking with, but with how things work now many vanity items like mounts, pets, and toys are shared between characters. Paladins are absurdly easy to play, so if you like that character you shouldn't be afraid to keep using him.
Personal bias indicates that Warriors are the most fun class to play though.

To answer the "Boost new vs old character" thing, when you boost an old character, all of your items and bags get removed, and you're given all 22s bags. You're also given 280% flying(if you don't have it), a unique fully blue set of class armor(only obtainable otherwise from salvage missions from a garrison building later), and any professions you have are boosted to the cap of last expansion(600).

A new character gets all of the same treatment, minus the profession boost. In other words, you save about 6k gold from not having to buy all of riding training that you will by leveling a new character(this is also a great way to start on a new server if you were so inclined). The profession thing isn't that big of a deal since in WoD all profession items can be made at lv1 of the profession(so you're not gated from making things). You will take much longer to make them, but you can still do it.

Regardless of which you boost, you lose all of the class's abilities and talents, and slowly get them back again as you quest at the beginning of the expansion. By the time you get your garrison, you'll have everything back(you can just get back everything instantly if you want by swapping specs/queing for an instance, though it only takes roughly an hour the regular way).

Thanks! So sound like I might be better just using my classes, store anything I want in the bank and then boost. I'm assuming I lose everything on the character at the time it happens not everything the character has stored right?

Thanks. These will be helpful!

It gets sent to you via an in-game mail.
