i remember many months back when everybody was bashing flux he came into the thread and defended himself. this must have been at the beginning of the year. it could have been a troll user but why? he was a junior and i haven't seen this user since. although i checked his post history and he posted in other gaming threads.

Can't forget MarkMan, who has been a member of GAF longer than but a few FGC-GAFers.

EDIT: Also the mythical S-Kill account which may/may not be S-Kill.

Sweet Johnny Cage?

I'd be wary of playing anyone online named "TOOLASSISTED".

I have the Vita version of the last GG, is it worth spending time with it to learn basics?

Also, when I did that, I looked at the tutorials on Dustloop but couldn't really figure out the answer to the role that each of the five attack buttons serve in the game (e.g., what's Dust for?) other than as you slot them into combos.

I know they're stupid questions, but if I don't ask...

standing dust is an OH and crouching dust is a low. Hit someone with a standing dust and they get sent up high in the air where you can do followup combos

Yeah, Accent Core is a good place to get a feel for the game. Xrd has removed some of the more advanced game systems, and some characters have been changed a bit, but the basics will carry over fairly directly.

Attack-wise, Dust is really the odd man out. Standing Dust is an overhead attack which launches your opponent into a special flying state you can follow up with an air combo. Crouching Dust is your character's sweep, and since hard knockdown is really strong in this game, some characters will be using sweeps a lot.

As for the other buttons, think of them as (generally) four ascending strengths of attack. Punch and Kick tend to be about on the same "level" as each other, light attacks, while Slash and High Slash are closer to Medium and Heavy attacks in other games. Many characters have a Forward + Punch command normal, and this usually has some kind of upper-body invincibility, so you can use it as an anti-air, and most characters have a close standing Slash and a far standing Slash attack, like in Street Fighter. Be careful if you don't play much SF and aren't used to this.

Playing Eddie isn't that hard it just requires some dedication. But that's how I view most things in life.

If you've played a character like Zero in MVC3 that helps.

If you're referring to holding the button to charge, I used Vergil on point for quite a while and learned to always keep his charge going regardless of what I was doing. Doesn't Zato require inputs and releases, though? For example, hold A, qcf, release A? It's been ages since I played GG.

The execution of Eddie/Zato's combos and strings are similar in principle to button-switching to hold a button charge, you just have to rejigger your conception of what you're executing.

I'll let someone more knowledgable about the character go into more detail.
