Halo fans aren't saying the game won't be fun. They're saying it won't be Halo, and no one seems to be arguing that it will, just that it shouldn't, which is ridiculous.
He's a skilled player with good aim.Video makes it look like all you have to do is hip fire wildly to get kills
I'll just assume he was playing against first time halo players
If you play a good amount of game you'll automaticaly know where and when the power weapon spawn. No need to have the game hold your hand all the time.
Did you miss the part where the guy playing comments that it affects spread?Looks fine to me.
Now that we know ads is just zoom.

Seems like it's not "just a zoom" sadly. There was no comment on it making movement slower whilst aiming, does anyone know if this is the case?
I just feel like it's a non-issue. It doesn't negatively impact anything and gives newer players a better understanding of the game. It doesn't tell them how to set up and get prepped for the power weapon drop. There's a good chance it'll pad the K/D's of players with a better understanding of the game since people will blindly run to the new shiny without much map awareness.
The scope zoom is actually built into the helmet HUD, like CE pistol.Did we even see ADS in the video?

I had a ton of reservations about this when the leaks started coming out but seeing the game in motion I think it looks great. I see a lot of people talking about TTK but the hit amounts required per weapon don't seem like they've changed. Most of the kills that were fast were scenarios where the target was getting at least double teamed. You could see the tracer rounds from other players hitting the main player's target nearly ever encounter. The only gun that seems OP is the new SMG. That thing should be a close quarters weapon but it seems to have no issue taking people out at mid ranger (even more so that the AR which makes no sense).
I'm still not sold on the slide and ground pound but I'll hold out judgement until the beta comes around. The rest looks like Halo with some serious mobility upgrades (which in all honesty is something I've been wanting since reading the books and hearing about how agile the Spartans were supposed to be). If there is one thing that I feel like needs to be taken out immediately it's the stupid Spartan showboating at the end. Seriously... These are supposed to be stoic super soldiers, not football or basketball players show boating their success. I know with Halo 4 they tried to give the Spartans more personality but this cockiness seems completely out of place and is more annoying than anything.
It affects the spread of automatic weapons. Precision weapons are just as viable with hip fire as with scope fire. And no, it doesn't affect movement at all.

It looked like all he did was circle around the map and just hip fired, idkHe's a skilled player with good aim.
EVOLUTION.
Honestly, this is not Halo. The guns kill way too fast. Anyone that argues that it's still Halo is out of their mind. It's pretty much COD at this point.
yeah I noticed that dude. like nobody posted on your thread nobodySo I put up a thread with all this yesterday and no one cares, yet this one gets 6 pages in a few hours?
Looks decent to me.
While that's true for the most part, I think there is value in having implicit rulesets that aren't apparent to every player from the offset. By making them visible to the player, yeah ,it does make a more even playing field in the short term, but ultimately you're giving up another layer of depth that's the difference between high and low level play. At what point should they draw the arc of your grenades on screen or highlight every piece of geometry you can jump to in the name of accessibility?

oh sweet another shooter with fast time to kill
fuck this industry
HALO DOES NOT NEED ADS. HALO DOES NOT NEED SPRINT!
Many Halo fans have been saying this is a really good evolution of the franchise. It looks fast paced and really good fun.
Even the pros have been quite positive.

Notification IMO SHOULDNT be seen as its higher level of depth. At least not for the mass audience. I want newbie randoms on my team knowing how to play. We don't have coaches on the field telling people what's up or what to do
If they want to add a hardcore tournament playlist or mode that removes all chatter and demands communication than sure. It would probably be even better since people will learn what needs to be communicated by Playing the main modes

Just seems like the evolution of Halo if you completely forget about H4 or Reach.
+Even Starts
+ADS seems fine if it continues to work the same as older halos
+Descope
+Faster gameplay
+Shooting looks solid
+Most spartan abilities seem to work, others will hardly be used
+Arena Maps look to work here with the new movement speed
+Sprint having a trade off to shield recharge
+BR looks great
+Hipfire is great
-Spartan Chatter I can do without
-Weapon timers for everyone to see, idk about that one yet
-Too much beeping going on
-DMR is ugly looking
-Charge will be pointless in competitive play, so will slide
Probably more I could think of but so far I'm liking what I see. Seems Halo is going in the right direction, H3 evolved. Didn't like Reach or H4 at all. I was skeptical from the little blurry 3 second clips we got but after watching some gameplay, I'm looking forward to trying the beta.
Have you ever played Halo properly? With properly sized maps and fast movement speed, Sprint is utterly unnecessary (unfortunately the devs have insisted on slowing movement constantly for no reason). And the trade-off of Sprint, no shooting for faster movement, is very un-Halo feature. And it allows easy running away. In a good Halo, you're committed if you end up in a fight. In a good Halo, if you're good enough, you have a fighting chance even when your opponent forces your hand.It definitely needs sprint. MCC is kind of painful to play without it.
I agree with you on ADS, but H5 doesn't really have that. They changed the zoom animation to be more comfortable for people who play other shooters but hip fire is still just as effective. Perfect compromise IMO.
The fact of the matter is that hardcore "Halo fans" are not a large enough demographic to carry Microsoft's largest franchise. They want to expand the audience and that means faster-paced gameplay. IMO they seem to have achieved a good balance of taking the core Halo gameplay and speeding it up. The important aspect of Halo (to me) was that it was fair. Everybody starts with the same stuff and has access to the same stuff. That's still perfectly intact. Now you can just move faster.
Looks amazing.
I dont get the mass of complaints.
Did you expect them to not try and update the game at all?
What did you want? Just halo 2 remade with better graphics?
They literally did that already.
Heckfu's curse in full effect.
SLRP.
Halo 5 has new stuff. Thruster packs, slide. Those are not issues, IMO. The shoehorned Sprint and ADS are.
