Full match of Halo 5 mp

Kills are too quick and movement is too quick with the thruster all the other changes are less fundamental. The biggest problem is how weak the Spartans are. That makes it far more CODesque. Kills shouldn't be that fast in halo. I wonder what vehicle play will be like. Its looks fun but at the same time this confirm that the halo I love will never return.

That looks like a total blast, and it basically confirms that what everyone thought was ADS is just a cosmetic change for R3 scoping in.

I love how fast it feels and how it puts so much emphasis on movement and postioning. I don't get people who are saying that spartans feel too weak or die too fast, you have always died fast in halo. Also just because you die fast doesnt make something like CoD. You die in 3 shots in counter strike but that doesnt make it like CoD at all.

My one gripe is that once again the motion sensor mini map is too fucking powerful.

Also the power weapon call is cool, it creates a dynamic every few minutes in the match, as people gravitate to the power weapon spawns you can set up an ambush or try and catch them off guard while they are picking up their rockets or whatever.

In the beta they should have playlists that have reduced damage, sprint/ADS removed etc. They need to test stuff.

The mid range fights with the BR look really nice. My only real concern is that the automatic weapons seem to be killing a bit too fast at close range for my taste. But then I can't really recall a game where the AR actually felt viable, so maybe that is actually a positive change overall, even if that isn't how I like to play.

Well, good thing Microsoft and 343 released Halo: MCC for your Halo love. It shall return! :)

"I want my Halo slow, the consistency of molasses and I want my Spartan to be made of 100% sponge! Just like dem gud ol' days!"

I've never enjoyed Halo MP. This looks enjoyable.

Call me a cynic but I don't think I will ever be hyped for a Halo game not created by Bungie. I would be surprised if Halo 5 turned out to be amazing. I hope MS stops milking this cash cow soon. Halo should of died as soon as Bungie was done with the series.

All the maps shown have been smaller, close quarter battles... They should have shown a bigger more open map in the unveil... Something where thrusting and running wouldn't be as effective and ttk takes longer at distance

I like what I see.

Oh shit that end screen seems so out of place and the announcer has gotten worse some how even though it's the same guy?

BR noise is just wrong as hell, hardly sounds like a burst fire gun.

I'm pretty sure you could shoot through the shield and get a kill with the final BR shot in Halo 4. DMR shouldn't be like that though.

Ah just another shit edition from Halo 4 then? They should scrap everything they added in 4 really.

It's because the last bullet in 4 bursts will actually hit the spartan instead of the shields, the damage is so that 4 bursts will strip a shield and kill if aimed at the head on the 4th burst.

It's not broken, just how they designed the BR to work, i'm not a fan of it personally.

Yeh don't like this new design then at all, should be all about getting the shields down then the kill not both at once.

What a straw-Halo. Proper Halo has never been that.

But what is Proper Halo?

Is proper Halo a game that was made for the times it lived in? The hardware (XBOX) it ran on? The controller it was fitted for? The Multiplayer competitive ecosystem it fought against?

Then yes, it isn't a Proper Halo because a Proper Halo is built around these constraints from 2001. 13 years ago.

I think people need to let the past be the past. You'll always have MCC. But lets take this game further now, please.

Low shields I think.

I don't like the fact that health also recharges when you already have recharging shields. Just seems redundant to me.

Health? Are you talking about what I believe is the jet pack meter under the shield? Players have limited boost/bull charge/ground pound capabilities before being stuck standing still. I don't mind that it will recharge at the same time as the shield.

I've said it for several years now. Sprint ruins Halo. It changes the core of the gameplay and I'm not interested in any Halo that has it. I really hope that there is a vocal segment of the Halo fan base that agrees with me and sprint gets removed before release.

People on GAF complain constantly. I never understood why elite soldiers couldn't run in the first place. I've no problem with this addition as long as the fundamental Halo elements are still there!

Sprint complaints are about how it affects balance and gameplay, not how it fits into the logic of the Halo world, which has no importance in MP.

TTK looks fine to me. Even though the guy is headshotting everyone there's still time to react if you aren't shit. People comparing it to COD and TF are way off base imo.

Wonder whether or not it was up to his perception that he said that the SMG has less spread when smart scoped. It did seem like the AR and the SMG were more accurate when used in smart scope, but I suppose I should take 343's word for it and it being purely cosmetic (though it being on LT suddenly does seem suspicious).

All in all, gameplay looks pretty solid and I am excited to give it a go. A lot can change due to a beta with a one year gap, so if something simply doesn't belong or work I will assume that they will respond to it.

One thing that I can be negative about out of the box is the constant chatter and the football team mentality. Dialogue or voice acting could/should be changed. But it does seem to be related to the context of the Spartan IVs not being the broken pieces of human that the Spartan IIs were.

Not Halo = Not a re-skinned Halo 2 correct?
No, but there are a couple things that make this game drift further from the the Halo formula. I think the most important one that some might not notice is the kill time. Not every weapon should be able to kill that quickly. That makes it less methodical and more twitchy in how you play and in my opinion makes kills potentially less satisfying. It also makes 1v2 and even 1v3 fights way more difficult for the one as there isnt time to react and skillfully be the hero. It makes things like that more difficult I think. It makes sense that kill times would be shorter given the new mobility options but I think we may be losing more than we are gaining. I'm not again the new mobility as long as those decisions are completely realized in their map design. I'm ok with Halo changing but people need to realize that its the subtle things in classic Halo whic make it so great and I honestly don't think I will ever see those things again in a new title again.

most of the fanbase isn't consciously aware of how it affects gameplay. it would take a majority vote to get 343 to remove something they've already spent time developing.

I am not a Halo CE fan exactly. It isn't my Halo. My Halo is, well, would be close to Halo 3... but with more speed, more agility (Halo 3's inertia is terrible), more consistent weapons, somewhat faster TTK (Halo 3 with 110% damage and speed is close but not ideal because of fundamental flaws in the game). Also would love to see something new, like what Halo 5 offers, beside Sprint and ADS.

MCC is not an option. It is apparently broken still. And it is old, with all the glitches and issues still there. It doesn't offer quite an ideal Halo, because each Halo has quite many issues. I want something new every now and then as well, i have played enough of the old Halos, i just don't want elements that are bad design and very un-Halo features, ADS and Sprint, in Halo.
EDIT Oh and Xbone is too expensive. Cut 50€ from its price and it is OK, considering its limited power next to PS4.

does the xbox one have mouse/keyboard support? Cause some of teh things the guy mentions such as maintaing aim while boosting etc. Mouse players would absolutely destroy everyone. Especially on a competitive level.

I'm gona guess they don't allow theose K/M adaptors in competitive play for that exact reason. Gotta keep a level playing field dude.

This looks amazing and so very much like Halo, faster, but the TTK seems dead on, just more mobile. After playing a nice chunk of Halo 2 Anniversary MP, this looks like that was their main jumping off point gameplay-wise. So glad they ditched the perks, ordnance, and penalty-free sprinting of Halo 4 and brought back weapon-spawn map control.

My opinions form the videos.

SMG OP.

The Spartans talking sounds dumb as hell and cringe worthy.

The "we won high five" at the end is dumb as hell and cringe worthy.

Sprint is to fast. should be a small bump from base speed or removed. Not needed with all the other movement options.

The sword is so damn ugly looks like a lobster claw and takes up half the screen. Also the new name is unnecessary.

The skyline looking map looks like it was built for cod game play. Random ramps and shit
in the way. Typical 343 map.

The pistol design is terrible. In style and the way it shoots.

Ground pound is a cheap kill. Needs to be removed. Add something that takes more skill in a clutch situation. Like a bxr.

Thrust pack is cool. Love it in Halo 4.

Hovering in mid air is dumb.

Thrust melee is redundant and sounds like a cheap kill. We now have front Melee, back melee, assassinations, and thrust melee.

that disabled chief picture is looking more and more suitable with each halo 5 thread

Why couldn't they just provide match options for the user to customize the parameters of the multiplayer match?

Want "no sprint" and/or "no announcer notifications" and/or "no Spartan abilities"? Then set "no sprint" and/or "no announcer notifications" and/or "no Spartan abilities" in the options and search for servers/matches that fit that criteria.

They should add these match customization options for people who want to play a more traditional Halo experience.

Yea the dudebro Spartan thing they've had going since 4 is pretty awful.

I'd honestly prefer it if these guys were just advanced ODST's or something. They are shitting all over what it means to be a Spartan.

I will preface this by saying Halo 5 MP looks good (aside from weapon tweaks etc which is what a Beta is for).

But for everyone who wants a "modernised" Halo and likes all those changes to the core game, how many of you would actually be playing the game for months or years after release?

Cause I always get the feeling that most people who want those changes would play it for a month or two and then move on to other things. And there isnt anything wrong with that. Most people dont stick with MP games for months or years. But then again, that is also what would happen if you got an archaic Halo. So most of you would be playing for a few weeks regardless of what the game is like.

So at the end of the day if casual fans are gonna leave in a month or two anyway, then they might as well remake Halo 2 with a new skin and keep the core happy.

Stop using H4's population drop for proof. it's stupid and lazy.

H4 sucked because the changes weren't implemented correctly not because change is bad.

Then what is the point of the beta then? A lot of feedback they will get will be to remove sprint

Or at least make a playlist without it

And remake all of the maps (as well as probably the campaign) that they built with sprint in mind?

The point of the beta is to improve balance and tweak features, not remove core gameplay mechanics. Also to network stress test probably.
