Do they ever.

And Mads did it for real.

Funny this thread shows up today. I noticed the not eating thing in last nights episode, it was so obvious I thought there was some sort of in joke going on.

Corner gas was the worst offender. Strangely they eat at times on the show but the drinks are often fake. There's an episode with a picture of milk that has what appears to be white paper taped on the inside.

I notice this in most sitcoms. They do it for continuity, they don't want him taking a bite of a pizza and then having the pizza whole again when they edit cuts.

I read Nick Offerman's (Ron Swanson) autobiography, and he said that Chris Pratt (Andy Dwyer) would eat in every eating scene. There was one scene where they were in an ice cream shop and it took like 6 - 9 takes where they had ice cream in each scene. Everyone would eat just a smidge of ice cream for the take then get rid of it and get a new scoop for the next take. NOT CHRIS PRATT, NOOOOO. He ate the entire ice cream cone every take.

I would do the same thing.

No wonder he was fat.

Yeah I remember him telling a similar story about Chris eating a full rack of ribs each take.

Had to laugh-- I read this thread, and almost right after, caught an episode where they're eating. Raj was eating in the cafeteria (mouth full and talking), and later on, one of the other guys was as well.

Only the greatest show on earth that had a audience that was great not just for laughs but also there entrance and yelling YEAH AL or DON'T DO IT AL for example they where not a fake laughing track it really made married with childeren so damn good.

I always wondered if they managed to do a lot of the scenes in one take. Jokes are funny once or twice, but doing a scene 6-7+ times its hard for an audience to laugh without forcing it yet with married it always sounded real and there was so much radomness.

I wonder if any shows or movies have the actors actually eating Mexican or Indian food for however many takes they do, and then having to take 5 for the actors to have explosive diarrhea in their trailers. Good times.

Wait, nerds actually eat food?

I thought they just photosynthesized or something. Wow.

Sorry for the bump, but I've been marathoning this show and they actually have food in their mouths very often and even eat it in many scenes. I remembered this thread and felt like mentioning it.

Just like in most sitcoms/movies, when food is involved, they just use their utensils to poke and prod their food without putting anything in their mouths. The actor may be chewing a piece of gum to simulate chewing the food on their plate while they film 5-20 takes.
