Yeah, that looks great and all, but it's by no means REmake 2. The perspective alone changes so many things.
Haha Jill's bust bounces a little.
You needed the closet key to get the costumes in the REmake. This looks pretty good. In the statue room you can see that they applied a filter over original background, and it kinda stands out, but the main hall and the dining room looked OK. Even crushed backgrounds didn't look as bad as in the original screenshots.
Also, it's good to know that you will be able to choose a costume on character select screen - no need to fetch them from the dressing room (or was it always like that in REmake?).
My only nitpick about the HD version - and it's a huge one - is the font. Why are they using a generic sans-serif font that clashes with everything, especially on the inventory screen. :| I really hope modders will find a way to replace it with a serif one, preferably the one used in the original game.
Play-Asia has updated the release date to Nov 27th, 2014. I guess this means my copy will arrive in the UK after Christmas...

They changed the lighting schemes quite a bit, so the port loses out in some areas but gains in others. It's going to look quite different throughout.
I wonder if they're going to do what they did in the PSX REirectors Cut. In which if you chose hard the order of some items and puzzles weren't the same that if you played in Easy and Normal.
Not to be pedantic, but I hope at least the reflection on the tub's water will be fixed. It looks strange the way it is now. They changed the lighting schemes quite a bit, so the port loses out in some areas but gains in others. It's going to look quite different throughout.
I would love it so much if they did an arrange mode. Knowing where everything is like I do decreases the lost in a mansion feeling a lot so I'd love a mode to force me to explore again.I wonder if they're going to do what they did in the PSX REirectors Cut. Maybe modders will do something like this, if people can figure out items and enemies are defined.
This won't get a retail release in the West?

Some of those AGB shots looks like garbage.
Even that last mansion shot looks poop. These are PS360 gen shots though, so I guess there's hope that by the time the next gen version rolls out, they'll have the time to upgrade more stuff.
Will definately play this via Remote Play. The pre-rendered stuff will look much better on a small screen. Shame they couldn't afford to redraw everything but that is to be expected.
Enhancing Resident Evil - Producer Walkthrough 2
Talks about the backyard basement and how they redid the whole room for the lighting effects over using the original FMV while keeping it pure at the same time. How much love this game and that I'll be playing this game so many years later looking this great gives me hope in Capcom that people in there still care somewhere.
It'll pay to remember just how many screens this game has, and that they've been worked on by a case by case basis with a limited timeframe and budget. Some of them will (and do) look fantastic. Some of them won't. Getting the entire game up to an optimum standard would have taken forever, and compromises will have to be made. And that the game will look far more attractive in 4:3 mode.
It's also extremely unlikely that the PS4/Bone versions will allow any extra polish, short of the promised 1080p.
So are we back to coughing?
Hopefully things will end up great. I still need to buy it of course.Kind of. It's really uneven based on the most recent patch of shots. Remake deserves better.
