Destiny The Dark Below opening cinematic

Also, yeah, sucks that we have a giant Knight with a few differences as the raid boss. We have already seen one of the mini-bosses and it's a giant Wizard.

On the plus side, this cinematic is more impactful than anything in the Story mode of the vanilla game, so maybe they're headed in the right direction. VoG raid is most fun I've had in Destiny.

Lets do this.

My thoughts exactly. My lvl 30s are ready.

First thing I noticed. I mean seriously? You make a whole DLC around this guy and don't even bother to make him unique looking?

Nope, Sean is right. That delivery was terrible, and so is the lame writing.

Meh. It's a teaser trailer and the line was delivered fine, imo. Not sure what else could have been said to make it any "better". It fit in with the context, I thought.
I have no reason to hate on Destiny.

I know some people are touchy about criticism against Destiny, so carry on.

Lol I'm one of the first ones to blast Bungie for Destiny's short comings and dissapointments so I definitely dont fall into the category of people you are referring to. But I don't see what's so bad about the line or the trailer. Overall, It's actually pretty solid imo.

I'm guessing this will be solar burn. Bodes well for me. Now if only I could get my gauntlets and boots from the raid instead of shards and energies I would be grateful.

Can't wait to hear the exciting Dinklebot lines of dialogue.

Are you sure about this guardian?

Oh no! It's the Dark Below!

I'm pumped, screw the haters. This is easily the most fun I've had all year. Over 300+ hours invested. My three level 30s are ready to go.

Well that's cool man. Glad you like it. :)

I want a mechanic for the Crota fight where he randomly chooses one target to run at and the only way to survive his sword swing is sliding between his legs.

SO let me get this straight, we are going to fight a giant hallow knight that we have already fought like 30 time.

No, it may share the model of the Knight. But as far as I know, the mechanics of this fight are still unknown. I'm looking forward to it. Hope it's longer/has more bosses than VoG.

Does the rest of Destiny's storytelling have this high fantasy tone? This trailer could easily be advertising Dragon Age DLC.

Hmmmmmm

Waiting to see what the impressions are like for this after the first days before I drop more money. Worried that it will jut be regurgitated content and no story.

Cool trailer though, very Mines of Moria..

6 of us went in, I came back with the loots, but you must grind to rank 3 to earn it!!!!! DO THESE BOUNTIES EVERYDAY

The story is just basic sci fi but the way they name everything in the game is very high fantasy.

Every boss literally is a giant something. Giant captain, servitor, Ogre, Minotaur, vex thing with rotating shield, etc. like you said, hopefully they match the Current raid style of adding other interesting team mechanics and not rely on a spongy giant like every other strike

It's sort of a mix between fantasy and technology. It definitely fits in line with how most characters speak and the story is portrayed.

He just seems like a giant knight, hope the final design is better then that.

Well, Crota is a knight. They established that in their Grimoire cards.

Looks menacing enough, though. Trailer kinda got me pumped, but then I remembered the grinding and frustration and now I'm okay again.

"What lurks in the dark below?"

"I could tell you, but the children are frightened, anyway."

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"

"I could tell you, but..."

3 story missions, 3...

This will be a bigger insult than the actual game.

"Eris is who you'll visit to begin the expansion's three new story "quests" - multi-part missions similar to some of the current exotic weapon bounties."

So it will be more than just 3 normal story missions. (Not defending, just clarifying)

It all shares the facade of fantasy, yes. Robot enemies that are called minotaurs/goblins/hydras, mecha soldiers call centurions/colussus/etc.

It is woefully undeveloped, though. You don't really know the relationships of these creatures to each other (aside from damage/defense/size, of course) and the "lore" is rich but hidden entirely behind lore cards (called Grimoire Cards) that aren't even accessible in-game.

There is little to no actual "story-telling" in Destiny.
