So how sure is it that these will be some kind of limited release only?
Many people make it out like figures like Marth or Pit will be way more limited than others, though what kind of limitation are we talking about?
That kind where it will be hard to find in a month?
Or the kind where it will be hard to find in half a year?
I really want all the amiibos, but not all at once, for the obvious reason of money.
I wanna buy them over time, say, 3 per month at the most.
Would I be able to get all of them this way or do I actually have to be prepared not to get any amiibos in a few months already?

I think they will continue selling pretty well during Holidays to the family target, that usually gives to Nintendo product a decent bump around Christmas, considering how they can appeal both parents and children

I'm sure you guys noticed but supposedly the swords and faces of Marth and Link could look reallll fucked up. Make sure to take a look at it before you buy it!
This is just a guess on my end, but I believe that would be a firmware update for the system. Otherwise, you just place the Amiibo on the touch screen while playing the proper software.

They had 10+ on display for the more popular ones (Mario, Link, etc) and only around 5 for the niche amiibos (Wii Fit trainer, donkey kong, etc.). For some reason there weren't any Marths available.
The thirst is real.

Jakks smaller line doesn't have many joints, just a few cuts for certain figures.
These are only $4
Pretty decent selection with Waluigi, Wario, Diddy, DK, Mario, Luigi so far.
Wind Waker Link and Ganondorf coming next.
Cranky, Tetra, Olimar and a red Pikmin after that.

That's what my guess is at least. I had a friend that bought *all* of them and was specifically checking the face and sword for those two.
Mine looks okay...definitely not as bad as some of those photos earlier.
I'm justified for Pre ordering DK and Wii Fit trainer from BestBuy. I knew Amiibo was going to be in short supply especially Wii Fit trainer, Marth, Villager those 3 are going to be tough to get because retailers only want the popular Nintendo IP Amiibo. People better preorder that Ike,Shulk, Capt Falcon, Diddy amiibo ASAP.

I'm from Guadalajara and can confirm that it was about the same here. Link wasn't selling THAT hot that they ran out of them by the time my turn came (which was like one of the last 1/8th) since I could get one without pre-ordering tho. Odd that you couldn't find a Marth tho, I got mine without an issue.
Still, they told me that they were almost sold out with only Samus and a couple of other remaining.

Well to throw a little fuel on the fire my preorder from toys r us that i made on the 16th for their 3 for 30 deal has been delayed. I ordered peach/link/lil mac and I just got an email saying Peach/Link will be "unexpectedly delayed". Went on their site to check my order and all 3 figures come up as backordered.
No dice.

Hmmm....what about Skylanders when they came out, Tamagochi and stuff.
Of there is one thing i learned is that toys are unpredicatable as hell.
And to be honest if Nintendo does this right, they have a good shot at becoming top dog for a while.

No, they really don't. It can and likely will be very successful, but it doesn't have a chance in competing with and becoming the most popular toys in the entire spectrum of toys. Hell, they arent even the best Nintendo figurines on the market in terms of quality.
Maybe this first edition bizarre Marths will be valuable in the future look out

Those are hit toys. They haven't sold a fraction of the kinds of numbers as the biggest selling toys of all time. Hell, Hasbro has sold 1 billion Barbie dolls. Think 1 billion Amiibos will be sold?

Lol...I'm sitting here, reading these comments, and I can't help but laugh. So many people are buying these things left and right out of pure compulsion and don't even know why they want them. At $12 a pop, you guys must have some decent amount of disposable cash.
As for me, I will not be buying them. I don't see the appeal in them, and they don't do enough in any game to warrant a purchase. On top of that, I'm 32 and got out of the collectables/swag game a long time ago, because it was just cluttering my house up.

Can you only level the character in Smash that matches your Amiibo? I'm a bit disappointed that the character I want won't be available for a while.
