Full match of Halo 5 mp

I for one really like the beepy boopy stuff. Especially when you get a kill; very reminiscent to Killzone: SF. The bro fives at the end also remind me of KZSF, in a less good way.

I also like the medals just fine.

I'm liking what I'm seeing, plus dat diagonal ground pounding... wonder if I can eject my ass from across the map if I'm on a high position.
Seems like there's a limit to the range in which you're allowed to Ground Pound. I can't see Ground Pound being all that effective against competent players; leaves you open too long.

And those were Pelicans flying by in the beginning.

Yeah, thought that was pretty sweet.

How come I've seen a single shot BR with 12 rounds, a single shot BR with 36 rounds, and a triple shot BR with 36 rounds?

Why are there like 3 Battle Rifles in the game

What are you talking about? There's a BR and a DMR. The BR has 36 rounds, fires in 3-shot bursts, kills in 4 bursts with a headshot and has a 2x smart scope. The DMR has 14 rounds, is single-shot, kills in 5 shots with a headshot and has a 3x smart scope (I assume based on previous DMRs).

I've seen a battle rifle that is only single shot with 36 rounds, and another battle rifle with only 12 rounds and is single shot, and a plain battle rifle like in past Halos.

Don't know how to make that more clear but that's what I've seen by watching like 3 different gameplay videos.

Not bad. Can't stand the sound design though. Everything is so high pitched and just bothers my ears. The constant chirp, the squishy sound of the BR, the announcer being higher pitched. I think they need more powerful bassy sounds.

This shows what I mean. I like the old BR sounds. It sounded more powerful back in the day.

Actually, I'm wrong. Halo 5 BR isn't so bad, nowhere near as bad as 4's.

You'll have to point me to these videos then because I've seen nothing like that.

just to pile on about the sound design so hopefully it gets some more work.. I also find the bleeps and bloops grating. Love the IDEA of a kill confirm sound.. just not this choice. Really poor selection.

Give us a few to choose from ala ringtones. Pioneer the kill chirp

i don't understand why they insist on changing the spartan shield sound. it's iconic and unique, but they're replacing it with generic beeps i can find by slapping my microwave.

they did the same thing with halo 4. can't tell the vehicles or weapons apart because they all sound the same, and the man cannon sounds like a big guy letting out a fart.

stop.

I think for this to work, they need to make it so the spartans sound serious instead of dudebro and only talk when they actually have something important to say. And then act dignified at the end of the match. They're not playing basketball, they're practicing murder for the purpose of defending the Earth.
Imagine them like Noble team, that'd be good.

In general I only want the Spartans talking when they have something important to say, and the announcer talking only when you've done something legitimately cool. Double kills and triple kills are fine, headshots and "comeback kills" aren't worth medals or announcements. Stop cluttering my screen and my ears.
Totally agree.

I swear I was thinking the same thing and also with the weapon designs. They ruined the sniper compared to how it is in 3 and the BR looks awful. The sounds always seemed amiss from Halo since 4.

The weapon announcements in that latest video is absolutely poor and not Halo. After watching more videos, still meh and a ton of red flags.

And way toooo mannyyyy medals. They're medals. They should only be given when you did something special like Halo 3, where it wasn't given with every kill.

I wonder who's losing faith in this after the MCC debacle.

How do they sound "Dudebro"?

The rest of your post is essentially part of the CoD formula: instead of peaks and valleys you provide a constant stream of rewarding sensory stimulations to promote that arcadey, addicting gameplay.

Halo's been going this route since Halo 2, though, so it boggles me that people are annoyed by this now.

Probably the best vid so far.

Top-notch sound effects.

Nice.

I think I've put my finger on why H4/5 looks unlike Halo to me, other than the environments. There is too much animation and focus on the hands. I only need to see the front of my weapon - otherwise it's distracting and gets in the way. I know 343 does this to show off graphics, but I don't need it.

I know what you're saying. It's too much distraction. But it's what the kids want.

I mean they are not dudebro, they are just cool dudes who love playing a game of shirtless volleyball together. And I am totally fine with this.

I actually really liked H4.
Playing it at 60fps without the loadouts in the MCC is great. Gorgeous game, too.
Looking forward to H5.

I think you might be getting confused like I did. The BR sounds like it shoots one shot, but if you listen closely it still is three shots. I believe they modified it to shoot quicker, but it is still three shots.

Are the cringe worthy spartan comments necessary? "slice and dice" "lets send them back to basic training" wtf 343. How do you not think this sounds dumb as fuck. I hate spartan 5's

Murican Space Marines! Ohh rah!

You guys are obviously just jealous of how overly manly they are. If you could get your chiseled bodies all sweaty and take a hot shower with your best bros, you would do it too.

That looked...very good. Starting weapons were more competent than we've seen since CE, its visually gorgeous, and the callouts are very appropriate.

The only thing I'd argue is that I'm not so sure that Midship goes well with this faster paced gameplay. Things felt "cramped" given the movement speed from what I saw.

Something like The Pitt with this sort of gameplay though....damn.
