Anyone know why hitting people with little mac's ko punch sometimes does no damage? Like, the animation and the zoom in happen, but the opponent glances off? Doesn't happen very often, but often enough to where it makes me wonder if it's a mechanic.

So is there no way to just unlock stuff from the 3DS version? I just assumed that's what the linking stuff was for.

Nooooope. All you do with the linking is transfer custom characters, nothing unlocks whatsoever. You can't even edit the custom characters you transfer from the 3DS version.

God, this thread is moving way too fast for me now. I hope I haven't missed anything great, but I just don't have time to go through the last 70 or so pages that I missed!

I say that about good Mega Mans. It's just kind of boring the way I get caught in stuff perfectly. I don't know. Mega Man's the least offensive but the others' gimmicks get to me. Maybe I just need more practice against them so I can beat them more easily. I haven't really spent too much time with them to understand them. They're just very formulaic in a way that's not fun to play against.

Vena's Robin last night was annoying, but in a good way. It was fun fighting against him and just learning on-the-go, whereas with my list, there is no fun in it, really.

Ah, I hear you. As a Mega Man player, I'm fully aware of how obnoxious his constant projectile pressure can be. ;)

This will be my first Smash game (yes, those people exist...lol) so hopefully I can catch some of you all online to have some fun. I expect to get beaten badly but as long as it's all in good fun I don't mind.

Just did m first amiibo vs amiibo battle. My lvl 38 unfed unequiped pikachu amiibo just wrecked my lvl 42 equiped and slightly fed samus amiibo.

Heck, I don't even know how to approach a megaman with my Robin. My spacers are too slow to fight it that way, and my approach game needs some work and learning where I can get in on the projectile lags.

Just played some For Glory matches online. After 11 I'm 6-5, holding my own at above 50%. Played a few matches against a really good Greninja/ZSS and those were intense, beating his ZSS with my Sheik was totally a self-five moment, I thought I was done for.

Also played against a guy who in the first match it was Lucario vs. DeDeDe and I wiped the floor with him. So then I switched to Little Mac and he switched to Kirby. Right off the bat he pulled the swallow you and walk off the edge of the map thing to get a stock advantage (which is highly dangerous with Mac's stupidly sucky vertical recovery). I was so surprised he actually pulled a cheap move like that. But since that was basically his only strategy with Kirby, once I was aware that's what he was trying to do I cleaned his clock again and he wasn't able to pull it off a second time. It's little victories like that against clear griefer tactics that make me realize I'm not terrible at Smash. Not great, but not terrible.

I am starting to like Samus. Probably the 6th time I have played her between both versions, but once I figure her out more, I am sure she will be better.

I've started practicing my Link. I am now ready to face someone from GAF.

But for now, I need to do some god damn homework :(

I haven't even had a chance to play my copy because of finals coming soon :(. Also my friends are lamers without Wii Us and I can't find any gamecube adapaters.

so foxtrot dashdances are evidently a thing

I'm trying to get the timing down on Falcon's. Very specific and rhythmic input pattern of repeating Right -> Left -> Left -> Right or vice versa but already proving useful. Yay movement options!

So is there a way to drop a controller in Smash mode without having to back in and out? I tried to do a quick match after a shameful loss against Dark Pit for the unlock, and decided to tap my amiibo in as an opponent. However, this apparently triggered the gamepad too, and I couldn't figure out a way to turn it off so I could have a one on one without backing out. Not a huge deal, but annoying and something I have to imagine must be in there some way, because it would be silly if it wasn't.

Good games, Namikaze! Sorry I wasn't much of a match for you. Also, I apologize for the lagginess at the end there. Probably my end. The girlfriend started watching Netflix in the other room, eating our internet.

Gotta run for dinner! I'll buff up and play you another time! :)
