I'll buy it if they give us that lighting back.
Who am I kidding, I'll buy it anyway...

...after I beat Bloodborne.
i have the PC version with the season pass , all installed
but lost my save and want to start again,, this is good news for me
so now i can start the DX11 version ?
why its separated from the DX9 version ?
Are those screenshots in the OP supposed to be the new version?
Because they look worse than what I already played on PC.
I think that's a mistake. There's a lot of drummed up negativity, with people being far more critical of it than they allow themselves to be with Demon's and Dark Souls 1.I haven't heard a lot of good things about this so I think I'll skip it.
The main problem is that the game has no "soul".
It is extremely boring in every aspect in comparison to the previous two games. The level design is boring with no real shortcuts anymore. The graphical design is very boring aside from weapons and armour. The enemies in general are very boring with a huge emphasis on humanoid enemies. The change in the way enemies attacked brought about a false sense of difficulty which lead to frustration for many players.
The bosses are easily the worst offenders though. They are all average at best aside from the Darklurker (and even then, it's optional). Not a single boss is remotely comparable to the gravity and impact when you was facing the Flamelurker/Maneater/O+S/Kalameet and none of them made you care for them like you did with Maiden Astraea/Sif/Artorias. It was easily the most disappointing aspect of the game.
Ultimately, From's B team (if you can call it that) completely misunderstood the point of a Souls game. They focussed so much on creating difficulty for the sake of difficulty that all other aspects of the game suffered immensely imo. To the point where fighting bosses became a mundane task.
The next part is a very light spoiler for Dark Souls 2:
There's a section in Dark Souls 2 where you fight numerous "humanoid" enemies who seem to have infinite stamina causing massive problems in trying to negotiate them only to lead to the most unfair boss in any Souls game. It is easily the worst designed boss, the most uninspiring and that was the point where the disappointment just overwhelmed me.
Dark Souls 2 is a good game, don't get me wrong. But it isn't great like its predecessors.
Were there as many remakes from ps2->3 / xbox -> 360 as this generation?
Yeah but I guess this way Xbox One players can get their souls fix. Really strange to release so close to Bloodborne.Releasing a month after Bloodborne doesn't seem like a good idea.

Its still a good game.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I have these so-called "cherry picked" shots from pretty much every single area in the game, and they all look great. As pretty as these cherry picked areas look, the majority of the game still looks like total garbage no matter the amount of colour correction and ao you inject.
I think the glasses aren't just rose-colored. They are opaque.Yep. I've been critical of DS2 in the past, but a lot of the criticism in this thread reads like some are looking at past Souls games through rose-colored glasses, and then choosing to look at DS2 through the lens of GIFs showing messed up hitboxes and screenshots showing flat trees. Just incredibly hyperbolic stuff, considering the gameplay and aesthetics generally hold up just fine a great majority of the time (on PC, at least).

Did you play it on PC or console? Assuming it's solid 60 FPS like the PC version I'd guess the current-gen console version will control much better than the previous-gen version.I felt as if Dark a Souls 2 combat was slower than the others, as if it had input lag. Do you think the next gen version can correct that?

60 FPS, uprezzed DS1 please. Not really interested in DS2. Bought it day one on 360 and still haven't bothered to finish it. Graphics were appalling. Warping from the start was bs. Adaptability stat broke core principles for me.
Agreed, while DS2 was fun, I think DS1 was a much superior game and would rather dive into Lordran again.60 FPS, uprezzed DS1 please. Not really interested in DS2.
