i am a 100% sure this is a Namco thing, any chance Namco will stop publishing From games in a near future?

Yeah, except that FROM publishes the game in Japan and is selling it separately there, too.

You sure are sure about a lot of things you obviously know nothing about it. I'll just end any attempt to talk about things rationally with you. You're not rational.

Someone needs to send Bamco a letter or start a petition on that.

I don't understand...

PC gamers already get to play the game at 1080p(or more) and 60 fps.

Why are people so pissed ? Did you guys get the Tomb Raider enhancements for free with the definitive edition ???

You'll probably get these enhancements if you buy the new DLC.

I doubt they go much farther than what the PC can offer anyway.

what? i just said that i was not sure if Namco published in japan, also i dont like Namco, i have that right, wth youre talking about? why are you so agressive and offensive? i simply did not think this would be something FROM would pull, stop with that agressive attitude.

Different from what? There was nothing stopping namco from picking miyazaki's new project

Maybe the fact that the project only got started because Sony approached Miyazaki about doing something new on the PS4?

There's only version of Tomb Raider on PC, and it already looked amazing. The definitive edition was for next gen console owners.

We already bought the Dark Souls II, and this isn't really a new version for PC owners. It's being ported to PS4 and Xbox One - that's a new version. Graphical enhancements are things developers typically offer for free on PC (see high-res texture packs). Gameplay enhancements are also things that should probably just be patched, not repacked into a different product.

It sets a bad precedent.

I see.

Nevermind me then.I didn't know that.

People played the beautiful pre-release demo of DS2 on PS3. It feels like the reason the graphics were stripped back was so they could resell people on the next gen version a year later.

"Illusory video ahead.
Beware of liar."
LOL
I'd pay full-price for a whole game with visuals like that but so far none of the footage or screens imply that sort of an upgrade.

WOW, i totally did not remenber that, was that demo really on the PS3? that lighting engine *-*

So it the pc version for console players huh?

Essentially the Definitive Edition of Tomb Raider took advantage of the greater power the new consoles had. A high-end PC will still look and run the game better. PC owners were already running the "definitive" edition. As they are with the PC version of Dark Souls (at least until this new version appears).

I still don't believe that was actually running on a PS3.

Better settings, higher resolution, and better performance than the retail release?

Meh... Would be a lot more exited for a Demons Souls remake. Plus, Bloodbourne is what im going to play to fix my Souls needs.

For those without a PS4, more Souls is always good news.

Anyone remember that interview with From where they said they were supporting DX11 with Dark Souls 2 on PC only for it to be non existent on release?

No, actually. Do you have a link?

yeah back then i was not a part of GAF lol, i also cant believe that was on the PS3 o_O, look at everything, the game was gutted o_O.

My biggest problem with Dark Souls II is that it continues the trend of play this way or else. All builds should be viable on all New Games...but past the first game you're stuck using whatever cheap tricks you have to scrape by. In particular Faith builds using lightning spears are pretty much useless. The builds that destroy the game without effort are, no surprise, dudes in giant armor with massive 2H weapons. Dark Souls I was better about this, but had fewer options. Dark Souls 2 has more options, but many of them aren't viable past a certain point.
Very true.

I got the PC version and have barely even booted it up, so the DLC will be new to me. Hopefully the pricing on the upgrade is reasonable. If they're expecting owners of the PC version to pay full retail for the new version then lolno.

Have you ever thought, that maybe in between now and it's release date (4 months), they will work further on the graphical improvements?

Expecting the graphics to improve out of blind faith is the most ridiculous thing you could possibly tell someone to do after the bait and switch these exact same people pulled with the same fucking game less than a year ago. Are you really that forgiving or does your memory just suck?

Maybe he's reserving judgment until the game is finished? Like you said, the graphical quality of the final version of the original game only became apparent right before its release. Seems like a good idea to wait before talking about the extent of the changes.

Eh no thanks. I'll just platinum DS2 on PS3 before moving on to Bloodborne. Good game but didn't grab me the same way DeS and DaS1 dis.

I don't mind rebuying the game on PS4, even though I bought all the DLC on PS3.

I just want my game saves to transfer. I've put in a ton of time on my characters.

at this point people only have faith in CD Projekt RED, and with reason.

If they off the game at a deep discount for those who already own the original on Steam I don't care. I never played or bought the DLC do this will be a lb opportunity for me to do it.

I can see how someone can get mad about this though.

they did not really say "PC version will have DX11", but it was kind implied that the new engine they build supported it, this all just points to the obvious that the game was gutted.

Another thing to note was that the entire game was playable from start to finish with the old lighting on PS3, according to A German Spy (he worked on the official game guide with ENB). But the frame rate was abysmal.

Just seems a bit weird how they were talking about DX11 and next gen shit about Dark Souls 2 when the game had none of that at release.

You don't need "faith" to wait and see. I guess if lamenting about unknowns is fun to you, then go ahead...

I do wonder if the next gen version will be what was shown during initial reveal. Or is the new generation HW still lacking power to do that at 1080p @ 30fps.

I am sure the new consoles could do that but I dont think what they showed early on exists as a full game.

They would basically have to remake the game if they wanted to look like that where as this looks like a bog standard HD remaster (if those ugly textures in the trailer are anything to go by)
