My biggest issue with stage creator is I do not like half of the themes given for ground and the lack of misc. items. Only barrels, lava, springs, and moving platforms does not make very exciting stages. My best stage is one with random ground formations.
I made a tourney stage whenever uploads are allowed.

Really? I created a few platforms but the cross never appeared.
I'll look into that tonight. Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I would use grid formations to make a ledge where you can grab. I notice without grids, more often than not, it will not give you options to make it able to grab.

Edit: As another poster stated, the game decides if a ledge can be able to be grabbed. It gives you an option to make it not able to grab.

So I wanted to get everyones opinon. I have not played a smash since the N64 days. I loved it then but also had a lot of friends who played.

Fast forward to now, most of my friends no longer play any games. However, I was looking into getting a Wii U, mainly for smash. Would I enjoy it even though I wouldn't be playing with people I know? It looks as though online is similar and still fun.

Shit like this is so sad. :(

I still really want to love suited Samus every time I play a new Smash game. She has all the tools from in-canon material to be a champion and an over the top highly mobile lightning bruiser but instead she has a tenured move set with some of the most hyper specific and janky attributes. I always try to play with her but my experiences can be summed up as such:

http://i.minus.com/ixHpwjv53oNY9.gif[IMG]

What's more, every time I see Mii Gunner's forward smash and up air, I wonder why that she couldn't get that as the the Ice-Plasma-Wave combo beam from Super/Fusion. Changing her nair to the falling screw attack would be a fun change too. It's also funny seeing her do a better looking jab combo in one of her win poses (the fast double punch - short range cannon explosion)
It's like every time I finish replaying a Metroid game I jump into one of the smash games, fling the cursor on Samus since i'm still in my Metroid mood and then a few minutes later I'm snapped back to Smash reality where I find her moveset pretty lacking.
At this point in the series I'm finding this to be the case with a few of the original characters, I think that some could really use a proper moveset overhaul more in line with the likes of Bowser next time around.
Samus, Link (or Toon Link) and DK being the main ones that leap to mind.

Still I figured that here at least Samus has some neat new customs drawing from the series that may satiate my appetite for new Samus stuff, alas in my time with the 3DS version I was constantly denied the shinespark and boost ball inspired moves, booooo.
Dark Samus could've helped fill this void.

And that gif captivated me for far longer than it should've.

You're a similar situation to myself, I loved 64 with friends and when I bought melee could not get into it because all of them had moved on. Brawl excited me for the online play but turned out to be a horrific turd in that sense, this game has definitely brought back the fun of smash. It's not QUITE as funny as playing with real life friends, but the addition of excellent competition makes up for it somewhat. Playing with Gaf is fun as well :)

I think you'll enjoy the game, it's like the mix of 64 and Melee, also you can play with GAFers, better than playing random folks on For Glory

I don't have freinds and it's fun.

Well, I guess the only disadvantage to doing group Classic/All Star with a bonus uncontrolled characters to double your trophy yield is that you don't get a proper partner for team battles. My Gendo Mii just sat there and was fine. Admittedly he didn't actually die fully until Master Hand though, who got him with the rising coasters. (Had it set to 2 to try out in case it did screw the run).

So, which characters have challenges that require you to do Classic/All Star solo? Because I'm thinking I may use this method for pretty much everyone else, since it doubles up the speed of getting those trophies...

You need to do All Star Hard Solo with everyone I think

I think peach's worst match-ups are like captain falcon, sonic, and funnily enough, Mario. That little dude has all the tools to deal with her.

Diddy is a bad match up for everyone.

What are the differences between Dark Pit and Pit? Playing with the former for the first time and he's pretty awesome.
Dark Pit's arrows travel faster, are stronger, but can't be curved as much.
Dark Pit's side-B sends the opponent more sideways instead of straight upwards.
Dark Pit has a weaker forward tilt.
Dark Pit has Zelda's Final Smash instead of the 3 Sacred Treasures.

That's literally it.

I figure I should also mention this in here, Robin is the most interesting/fun Fire Emblem character in this game. There is simply something about catching people with Nosferatu reads and the subsequent look of terror on their face as they realize "oh lord she's getting her health back". Robin also has some pretty neat up close stagger strings/combos. Jab - Jab 2 - dash up smash feels so good to land.

I need to get more used to throwing in more Thunder variations and creating Arcfire walls though. In the time I played, I just used a lot of Levin Sword/Bronze Sword normals (I got so fucking hype realizing that Levin Sword up air is essentially Melee Marth's up air with more hitstun) and Elwind to gimp/stage spike people.

Edit: Pit discussion? Character is fucking awesome in this game. Took me a while to come to this conclusion though. I guess I just really needed a GCN controller to do work with him. Still miss his Brawl fair though.

Seriously speaking, Samus only needs the following to automatically make her a Bowser level Jank to Excellence story:

- Faster running speed
- Jab series changed to the jab-jab-cannon blast animation from her victory poses
- F-Smash changed to be more like Mii Gunner+Megaman (a single hit piercing shot that can freeze opponents when fully charged. Missiles shot at frozen opponents do double knockback/damage.)
- Neutral B changed from Charge Shot to Speed Booster (Hold while running to accelerate, press down then a direction to do a short Shinespark in said direction)
- Shield roll animations changed to the "sense move" animation from Other M; Morph Ball becomes a crawl animation
- Morph Ball bombs explode on contact again.
- Nair becomes the descending screw attack/charge attack when you jump and trigger a somersault downward with the Screw Attack equipped or holding a charge shot in the early parts of the 2D Metroid games. Single hit.
- Bair gets reverted to the Smash 64 "Fuck You" Kick with the same kill potential

Amiibos are pretty nice. The figures are nicely detailed and high quality for their price. I got samus, link and kirby and I am very pleased. Letting my robot minions fight each other and flail around like they don't know what they're doing is pretty funny.

After dealing with Project M Mario and now Smash 4 Mario, I'm convinced that I really just hate that character lol. He just feels like a character who is totally unbound from any restrictions in this game's engine. Has fast normals, a good-great ground speed, has a decent projectile, forces you to respect him with cape (seriously cape alone puts the fear of God into me), has little to no noticeable lag on any air moves on top of good air movement and can generally play any role at any moment. Then there's the absurd combo game he has. A rush down Mario (aka my only IRL competiton right now) is pretty much enough to steal the light out of my eyes and whimsy out of my soul when playing this game.

Why Luigi can't be any better while Mario exists is just ugh. :lol

Samus being unable to shoot a beam in the air is incredibly out of character. I'm fine with the other ideas, but the Charge Beam is too integral to the character to drop for the Speed Booster.

You'd think he'd have been given more individuality in the latest patch

...shit you're right. :lol
I do like the idea of an Ice Beam forward smash though. That's the ability of hers that I think is most sorely missed in Smash Bros.

I'm almost convinced his weaker forward tilt was accidental. Like... they are literally the same move but Dark Pit's is just worse. And that's the only normal attack of theirs that differs.

I think for integrating Speed Booster, I'd make it more aesthetic than anything. Make it occur while she's dashing, and have shinespark be her dash attack. And make Samus's dash speed faster while we're at it. She moves at Prime speeds in Smash. :lol

GG Karsticles, i'm guessing you lagged out at the end there but you play a mean Bowser. Enjoyed finally fighting someone good with him as it gave me a solid beating :P Gonna take this time to go grab some supper, but if you ever wanna play more feel free, always up for some good matches.

Samus should be able to fire her charged shot while moving. Tap b to fire, hold it down to charge. Otherwise more of less exactly the same move. Metroid would be impossible of you couldn't fire while walking. Maybe even allow her to charge while walking, but make her move slower. Shielding would hold the charge.

How would you use her Side B, though?

You would have to get rid of her side B, then. Sort of like how Megaman has no tilts.

They are the best Smash partners. Such an improvement over normal CPU's.

The best thing about this game is that it really doesn't seem like any characters are shit. Even a good Ganondorf can put in the work when he needs to.
