Shopto? Mine's delayed cause apparently NoE didn't stock them GC controllers in time and apparently arrives at their warehouse on Friday, hope they use DPD or something and get it to me by Saturday ='(

If it is shopto I assume like with me it's the adapter bundle.. When I phoned they said it would be dispatched by hand tonight.

Cheers guys - yeah, that's the one. They sometimes do ship them late. I'm hoping it turns up tomorrow!

Last night, my friends and I just got done playing 4 human players vs 4 CPU's at level 8 on Hyrule Temple. It was amazing. Plus, we've determined we do indeed have enough hardware to play 8 human player Smash after the break...It's going to be freaking glorious. I haven't even touched the single player or character customization yet. Game of the decade.

Love this game.

it's sad to see that Nintendo loves Megaman WAY more than Capcom.

I don't understand the desire for the GameCube controller.

Pro controller is…
Wireless
Same or less cost than GC plus adapter
Able to be used in many other games
Very comfortable

Also, how did four-stock become the norm? Was Melee that much faster? Two stock feels perfect.

I agree 2 stock is PERFECT for this game, but indeed, Melee was indeed much, MUCH faster and less defense-oriented than this game. They feel completely different. Both are fun though. But two stock would be too short for Melee with its tighter controls and shorter recovery time between attacks.

Also, asking a veteran Smash player to play without GCN controller is like asking a Street Fighter II veteran to not use an arcade stick. Sure, it can be done, and some people might be far better with the unconventional control scheme (e.g. many grew up playing SF on a 6 button controller and aren't good with a real stick)... But the vast majority of us don't want to play Smash without a GCN controller. It's hard enough to play on 3DS (I still occasionally fight the controls).

It's not really "superior" to all.

But I'd argue that the octagonal gate and slightly wider dead zone of the GCN controller's left analogue stick makes it slightly more accurate for Smash's unique control scheme. There's absolutely no guesswork when it comes to hitting the corners which isn't really true for the Pro controller or the Gamepad.

I can't even look at it, knowing that it wasn't the best selling game of the year. My fingers burn when I try to play it, knowing what the sales were. :(

I don't know why Nintendo wastes their time with launching these broken games that get next to no sales. When will they learn.

They probably won't learn before they're dead. Which will probably be like... a month from now or something. :P

did a little six people tourney with my buddies yesterday, didn't notice the lack of tourney mode till then lol, had to do a bracket ourselves, at least we did it with double elimination that way huehue

I guess that's one of the things that will be added later to the game, now I see why some people felt this game was rushed, I mean no tourney mode or rotation sakurai? not even for local? :c

someone send help

Also I would like to point out how insanely out of date some of the online functionality is. I don't know if it's the game's fault entirely or the system, but the "messaging" you're capable of doing from the friends list ingame...wow. It doesn't notify you at all, and it posts to miiverse which makes you open the OS to get to. Except the online blocks this so you need to back out a few menus to even check if you possibly got a message.

The masterpiece section doesn't even have Super Mario Galaxy. Face it guys, the game deserves to sell like shit.

quick question about jumps. when you i get smashed i usually get a jump and recovery move to try and get back to the stage but sometimes i dont get the jump. now i'm tying to get 8 kos in cruel smash by dropping off the edge and attacking from underneath. I'm into the same problem where i drop off but randomly i wont get access to the jump and falling straight down and dying. What determines this inability to jump?

You might have accidentally used a jump but so short you didn't notice it get executed. Did you have tap up to jump enabled? It usually gets solved by turning it off.

If you've already jumped once in the air, you can't do it again until you touch the ground or grab the edge. So as mentioned, it's probably getting used by accident somewhere. In the case of getting smashed off, they probably hit you as you were double jumping so that you didn't even see the jump come out.

If you used your mid-air jump prior to getting hit in mid-air, you do not get another mid-air jump until you land again.

However, if you use your mid-air up+B prior to getting hit in mid-air, you DO get another mid-air up+B even if you haven't yet landed.

Think of it this way: The ability to use your Mid-air up+B move is restored by taking damage, yet mid-air jumps are not. Mid-air jumps can only be restored by landing once they are used.

(And by up+B move I mean up+"special"... I refer to it as an Up+B because "special" is mapped to the "B" button by default).

Does that help/make sense?

Also, once you use an up+B, you never get an additional mid-air jump until you land. So you must use your mid-air jump prior to an up+B recovery or else you'll forfeit the mid-air jump.

In Melee, air-dodges also cancelled your ability to jump. But I believe you can airdodge and then mid-air jump in this game (going off memory though).

yeah but did you know that if you have an sd card you can save screenshots and replays

I have been saving replays just fine without an SD

now, I need to see if I can watch the replay on other Wii U if I record it on the SD, does anyone know if this is possible?

That makes sense. i'm still not sure why i'm not getting it in the ledge scenario though

I'm so looking forward picking this up tomorrow or on friday...
The get 3 games pay 2 from Saturn in Germany comes at a very good time :D

I've been playing through Xenoblade and I won't be able to finish it before Smash releases, so I just want to ask this about Xenoblade trophies. Does it spoil anything past (Xenoblade spoilers)
finding out that Fiora is still alive and was Nemesis Face as well as the fact that Mumkhar was Metal Face?

Not that I have seen, the late-game mega-spoilers seem to be absent. But don't trust me, haven't gotten all the Xenoblade trophies yet.

This is just a guess, but you get a few frames of invincibility when you ledge grab. I think if you wait longer than that to let go of the ledge, then you may lose the ability to midair jump (but haven't tested this myself yet because I haven't really played much of the Wii U version yet).

I'm guessing here, but I assume they don't want you to be able to let go of the ledge then regrab it over and over to hog it.

I can't test it now, though.

Still no complete music rip of the game :(

Might see one popping up once it releases in Europe.

Thought so!
Fingers crossed for tomorrow, a shame about the controllers but oh well:(

Aye! If it doesn't, this will be the first game in two years that didn't show up a day before launch from there. I'd be surprised. It's coming to the office and I have Friday booked off, so fingers crossed!

so i tried the trick of snapping a picture of both the gamepad and my TV to determine its latency, and my TV was at a difference of two milliseconds with the time on the gamepad

so what exactly is my TV's latency? is it alright? :p
