Steam "Exploration Sale" -- i.e. Autumn Sale -- now live (November 26 - December 2)

Just wanted to point out that Red Faction: Guerrilla is $8, and has had GFWL removed and DX11 support added, in addition to numerous other things. I feel like Nordic deserves some sales for their effort.

Absolutely, they've done a stand up job with the patching to remove GFWL and making the game run and look better, it makes me really optimistic that the series is in their hands.

I'm really interested in The Evil Within - I ordered it on PS4 from Best Buy for ~$22 but now it's cheaper on steam.

With a 2GB GTX670 and a i7 2700k would I get an equal or superior experience with the game on PC? i can still return the PS4 copy, it doesn't arrive until Friday.

I played the demo a few weeks back, and I have a i5-3570k and a 2GB HD7870, and the game run perfectly fine. I never played around with the borders or 60fps, but the demo never dipped or had any issues. I'm buying it tomorrow, I think with your setup you'll be perfectly fine.

I hope Dragon Age Origins goes on sale for cheaper than it is now!

and maybe the Fallout games too!

I'd love to add those to my library and never play them!

*continues to not play Witcher 1 and 2*

I guess. From my experience, the deals aren't really ever any better then than they will be in this sale.

So winter sale gives better deals? Guess I should save up then.

Most of the deals now will be repeated in the winter sale.

That was deal for yesteryear, wasn't it? It could be (slightly) different for this year, and even when they indeed make it the same as yesteryear, there wouldn't be no harm in waiting since it's the same deal after all :p

And there will most assuredly be a meta-game involving purchases and/or badge crafting, so it's more economical to wait.

They're really, really good. You're missing out!

I was curious about this as well, Steam impressions seem good. Any gaffers have any opinion on it?
There's some impressions here:

I really like it. Here's what I said:

I backed it and it's pretty much what I was looking for in a winter-set singleplayer survival game.

It can be pretty brutal and you have to constantly balance your fatigue, cold, hunger and thirst levels. I almost feel like the pressure is a little too high, but without the constant threat, I think the game would lose some of its grasp on me.

It's interesting playing a game with so much focus on exploration where you really have to make some tough choices. I could climb that hill and see what's on the other side, but my body temperature is dropping fast and it's probably safer to just keep working through this valley in hopes of finding some shelter.

Also, wolves are jerks.

There is a demo up of the game on steam of the first three chapters (progress carries over if you buy the game). Playing on PS4, but I am going to try the demo out since I wouldn't mind playing the game through a second time without black bars and a better frame rate if my machine can do it. I got two 670s, but an i5-2500k oc'd to 4.5.

Wasn't Skyrim Legandary edition less during the summer sale? For some reason I thought it was $19.99 at some point...

Hope everybody has a great Thanksgiving!
