Steam "Exploration Sale" -- i.e. Autumn Sale -- now live (November 26 - December 2)

I REALLLLY Wanna buy The Long Dark... But Early Access :(

Talk me up, GAF.

Going by Steam reviews, it seems to be one of the highest rated Early Access games, and just received a massive update.

I don't think you can go wrong with betting on the development of that game, though I haven't played it.

Is it worth buying Civilization V the whole complete set (already 75% off), Watch Dogs (already 50% off), and Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark (already 20%) now or should I wait?

CIV V Complete is a wonderful game and worth much more. But there were already times where it was cheaper, so if you don't want that great game no, you'll get it cheaper. But if you remotely want to play this great game. Take it.

There is no point in not buying a game just because it's in early access. Research the game for info at least before you buy it.

Games such as The Long Dark, Prison Architect, The Forrest, Kerbal Space Program are all in early access, but they all are getting frequent updates and the devs are really awesome.

It had bigger discounts than 75%?

CiV and Watch Dogs are safe to jump on; wait on Transformers.

Pretty much. Civ V complete is actually worth full price, but if you don't want to play it right now you could probably get it even cheaper.

Konami really hate whole Eastern and Southeastern Asia, don't they?

"Hey guys, I know you guys love to pirate. So instead of trying to sell you our games at a cheap discounted price, we are just going to block you off. "*starts pumping middle fingers up and down*
oh konami.

I felt the same way...before I broke and bought it.

It's one of those games where you'll probably know if you'll like it by watching a youtube video. The game is tense. Having to juggle temp, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, while dealing with the elements (and fucking wolves) is a lot more fun than I would have thought.

Almost bought Civ: Beyond Earth, but since it is already 30% off so soon, I'll wait for the GOTY edition, since I've seen more bad things than good things about the game.

Yes. I made a mistake and pre-ordered the game. You are better off with Civ V and some mods by now. Even with the fixes, it's just Civ V with some interesting gimmicks, but lack of soul. So better wait and hope for good add-ons.

Civ V with both expansions is an excellent strategy game, and IMHO the best of the Civ series by a good margin, even better than Civ 4:BTS. If you like Civ games at all then it is an awesome buy and WELL worth the full price of it, let alone 75% off. I have over 200 hours with it and am not even tired of it at all yet. Simply amazing game.

Watch Dogs is safe to jump on; you're looking at only a further 5-15% off CivV if it's selected to be a Daily, so it's up to you; wait on Transformers.

Is 75% off Civ V part of the daily Civ Beyond Earth? Don't franchises normally go on daily sales together, but they just advertise the most recent versions?

Edit: I'm right, it is a daily deal. On the Civ V store page it says daily deal ends in however much time.

This is actually MORE expensive than if you were to simply purchase via the GMG VIP section, at least in the UK

Vouchers only seem to work outside the VIP section but overall it seems the VIP section is cheaper as is

the VIP shows a $9.62 sale for the game

Holy cow, you're right! Going to edit my post fast.

In the UK it is £6.73 via VIP, but £7.00 using that voucher. On the other hand, Wolfenstein and Evil Within are more expensive in the UK - £9.40 via VIP or £9.52 using the voucher compared to $16 for both in the US I think while a total of £18.80 in the UK

Ah, I didn't think to check that since I assumed he had and it wasn't the case.
