Is that why he was made to put over all three of those guys? Was a victory over CM Punk just some meaningless distraction for them?
And my point is he was never good enough to be on those guy's levels and that's why he was never promoted as such.
I'm 99.9% positive H sabotaged Punks career post pipebomb.
- Punk buried at SS. no pay off with Nash (i know nash failed a supposed drug test even though he feuds with H a month later)
- H doesn't put Punk over at NOC.
- Year+ title reign playing 2nd fiddle to Cena including Wrestlemaia (twice)
- back to back to back jobs to part timers
- fucked over on money and movie deals
- dr, hayes, and vince acting VERY shady about his health. (isnt the first time we heard this about vince though)
- shady questionable ryback feuds.
They don't give a fuck about punk. They wanted to milk his name while torturing him the whole time. I love H, but the massive amount insecurity he has with talent fucking sucks. Termination papers on his wedding day? Withholding earned money? The fuck? Punk destoryed him on the mic 3 years ago and he's still butt hurt it seems. The staph infection/concussion story is scary as fuck. They literally learned nothing from Benoit. Damn shame.
oh, the "I'm dumb as fuck" quote is amazing. I don't get how he held back punching him in the face.
Which is the sort of self-serving garbage WWE tells itself. He absolutely was good enough, they didn't give him a chance because they didn't "choose him".
Their choice for "next top guy" is Roman Reigns. They will promote him as beingas good as Rock, Taker, Cena. Is he? Not even a bit. He's not even at midcard level talent wise. But because they have chosen him, they will pretend he is, just like they pretended Bryan or Punk weren't.
WWE is attempting to appeal to kids though, not middle-aged men on the internet.
And they're failing, given their actual real, demographics.

As far as I'm aware they were still profitable (until they launched the network at least). I think in the long term scrapping PPV's may come back to bite them in the ass though.
And they're doing a horrible job. There's no reason they can't appeal to both by using the talent in an intelligent fashion. Punk would have been capable of doing exactly that if they'd given him a proper chance. The summer of Punk proves that.WWE is attempting to appeal to kids though, not middle-aged men on the internet.
Yea D Bryan is legit loved
Personally I dont get it, but those YES chants are always there
Because I'm trying to have a debate on a message board? Find one instance where I resorted to insults.
Have you seen the way they have promoted reigns?Which is the sort of self-serving garbage WWE tells itself. He absolutely was good enough, they didn't give him a chance because they didn't "choose him".

He ain't gonna be over with anyone.
"Profitable", thanks to extensive corporate deals, sponsorships, inflation and high ticket prices.
Not thanks to WWE being mainstream or hot. They are decidedly NOT hot.
But CM Punk got them mainstream attention, for the first time in years. Something John Cena sure didn't do. Their response was not to foster it and push him, it was to put HHH over Punk and kill his momentum, then continuously book him as second to Cena.
Self-fulfilling prophecy. "I don't want this guy on top. So I don't push him. Look he isn't getting over, I was right to not push him!".
Fans buying into this rhetoric is just sad.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember the 'pipe bomb' gaining mainstream attention purely because it reminded people of the Attitude Era.
I understand your point, but Daniel Bryan proved that if you are over enough and have the talent to go with it, then you will headline WrestleMania regardless of whether they cotton onto your popularity at first or not. Bryan to me is a billion times more suited to being a WWE maineventer than Punk ever was.
You're deliberately ignoring the points made by other posters and attacking strawmen then acting like a victim when you're called on it.
Let's see if Bryan even has a main event career before we say that

If he never wrestles another match in his life, he's still done what CM Punk has been bitching about being held back from, namely headlining WrestleMania.
CM Punk = retired
Daniel Bryan = crippled
Beth Phoenix = being a mom for her and Edge's baby girl while he shoots Haven
Zack Ryder = getting injected with stem cells so he can work house shows again and the occasional episode of The JBL Show on WWE.com
Evan Bourne = back at Ring of Honor
Cody Rhodes = joke Goldust-spinoff character to pay homage to his brother
Kofi Kingston = new dancing black man faction to debut on Black Friday episode of Smackdown
So you missed the part where WWE had zero intention of putting Bryan in that spot, and that the plan was Orton vs Batista?
Punk leaving changed their plans forcibly.
Also, you're now just dismissing the mainstream attention (again, the first WWE had gotten in many years) as not mattering? He was all over news and websites, with a potentially huge, unique story, and all you can say is "meh, doesn't matter it just got attention for reminding them of the biggest drawing period in wrestling history".

Does the WWE not have a single fucking clue what to do with Kofi?

We all know this won't last a year.
Case in point, Fox Sports homepage:
Something funny, Fox International has a deal with WWE for their programming on Latin America, aka Fox Action for PPV and Fox Sports LA for RAW and SD.
This pill can be hard to swallow for WWE. And I like it.

Do we know why JR left?
I always thought that was weird
WWE has treated him like shit for years, both in the ring and behind the scenes. Hell Jerry Lawler is closer to Vince than JR was and Lawler has a bunch of skeezy shit attached to him.
The straw that broke the camels back is attributed to the WWE 2k14 press conference, where Ric Flair was shitfaced and JR was blamed for not reigning him in
I have a sudden interest to listen to austin/jericho/JRs podcast on this if they even touch on it
I thought that was damning. JR is so crucial to the company voice.WWE has treated him like shit for years, both in the ring and behind the scenes. Hell Jerry Lawler is closer to Vince than JR was and Lawler has a bunch of skeezy shit attached to him.

I've justified every point I've been called out on and what has being a victim got to do with anything? Just thought I'd give a different perspective as I wasn't really agreeing with what I was reading on here.
You guys really are overstating the importance of CM Punk to the WWE, he wasn't exactly a massive draw and for him to compare himself to The Rock, Undertaker and John Cena is a joke if you ask me.
He refused to cover for a drunk Ric Flair in front of an audience during an event for 2K14. He already wasn't announcing anymore or on TV.Do we know why JR left?

Really highlights the week to week to day of booking.
i personally thought he brought a loud crowd, but brought nothing else to the table. The attendance stayed the same when he won the title, and the ratings and buys decreased from the year previous again when he won the title. I don't blame him for that, thats more of a wwe relevance issue because their buys and ratings have been going down for a while. but I never thought he was the savior fans thought he wasBryan brings a energy that's lacking in the WWE right now.

This is an example of how over this man is...the crowd popped like it was 1998 all over again.
