I've noticed a buffering on the Pro Controller that I can't seem to replicate nearly as easily with the Gamecube controller and its really messing stuff up lol. I'll try using a Side-B only to find myself dodging because I buffered shield with the Pro controller still believing it being held.

That or I have sticky triggers. Anyone seen this happen to them with the Pro?

Just got a cool Dr. Crygor Trophy...nice to see some other WarioWare characters getting love bar the 3D Models, unlike in Brawl...

Anyway, it's a 2D Trophy, but when you rotate it, it has a different pose. BUT, the most interesting thing about it is a weird line at the end "rumor has it he's working on a time machine". I've looked, and no Wario game so far mentions Crygor creating a time machine...is this a hint towards a future WarioWare? One perhaps involving, like, retro-gaming?

Are we doing a tournament for this version? Don't want to miss the signup like I did last time.

Hey GAF,

I just received my LAN adapter, and I'm having some problems. When I go to play an online game (1 on 1 For Glory), everything runs smooth as butter, EXCEPT for that every 15 seconds or so, everything stops for about a second and a half. It's like someone walking up and pressing pause every 15 seconds.

Here's some things I've tried to fix it:
- Ensured I am using wired (deleted wifi connections)
- Restarted router
- Restarted Wii U
- Connected with multiple randoms, and not just one person. Happens EVERY game

Any advice would be amazing. Any settings I can tweak or anything?

Seriously, "GAF Smash Community"...I go away for hours to hang out with the family and drink more with my grandfather and roommates...and nobody in the community has ANY answer to this simple question... I expected some high experienced people constantly scouting posts for help out tips, but I get nothing.

So yeah, WTF, and can/how do you put Smash attacks on your Wiimote D-Pad like you could in Brawl?

Sorry, man. It seems like since release SmashGAF stopped talking to each other and just started talking at each other. Hardly any questions seem to get answered and lots of people's posts that aren't matchmaking attempts are self contained.

That said, if it's not plainly visible on the controller customization screen. It was probably removed. I would assume that, since it's a very counter-intuitive way to play the game, the option was phased out.

I'm sorry a scheme you like was removed.

nope, nothing like that here

I hope someone notices my question this time! Is there any way to remove the ingame gsp ranking on every game that tracks it? Like, the one that changes live at the top of the screen?

I'm not interested in seeing that every single time I play, and it makes me regret playing online since now I have this high score in the middle top of my screen.

That sounds like severe packet-loss, which shouldn't be an easy feat over wired. Have you checked the software side of your router to see if its simply experiencing packet-loss from the connection to wherever your internet hub is located? Try a packet-loss test online and see what it comes back with.

If anyone is up for 1 on 1 let me know my FC is Chaotic Strike.

I'll do some with you, NNID: TesVena.

Alright added you.

"Okay, my luck with winning will run out soon, I'll just play Ganondorf until I lose once then take a break."

*matches go on for another 20 minutes*

Which adapter did you get? I don't know about the really cheap generic adapters but the Trendnet adapter I bought works well. It also has the exact same chipset the official Nintendo adapter used and has been on the market for years.

Should I be concerned that I get told it is unable to test packet loss?

Which adapter did you get?

This one here!

that one has the same chipset, maybe it is a router issue?

You can test the adapter on your computer to rule out being defective.

I also forgot to mention I watched 3 episodes of an HD TV show on Netflix while using the adapter, and it was smooth. No hiccups, no loss in quality at all. Everything ran great there.

That means you need to enable Java. It should be at the top of the browser if you have it installed.

Fixing that now. Will rerun the test.

Man I gotta stop being a sore looser about things. (I got all upset a few days ago and said I was probably going to sell the game since I couldn't compete online at the time) but now in Smash Bros my win rate in For Glory 1vs1 is 55%, while on 3DS it was 20%. Either something is different about 3DS' online or I've just gotten better with practice. But yeah I seriously just need to learn to stop bitching whenever I loose a bunch of games in a row.

Maybe I'm still being a sore looser and the only reason I'm willing to say this is because I'm winning now.... Shit

GG Makai, but I am not really interested in playing on a half second of lag. I can't react to anything you are doing.

Anyone else up for matches?

Thanks, and yeah I unfortunately figured, which sucks cause you could pull off shit with that control scheme that was not as easy on other one's. So it's removal is yet another thing I'm starting to really not like this game as much as initially.

-Game is STILL not up to par with Project M as far as gameplay/technicality is concerned. Possibly more balanced at release? But nowhere near the precision/speed/technicality allowed for in Project M, which is sad Sakurai didn't take 90% of the overall gameplay pointers from that mod, would have made this truly god-tier.

-Ice Climbers and other Brawl chars missing, imo all mainline entries ought not drop chars but refine them and add new ones.

-I hate the stupid board game mentality of Classic Mode and that dumb Mii board game. Just give me back Melee's "long Adventure stages" or something like the Subspace Emissary with goals and a epic finality.

-8-Player Smash = Dumb idea, no reason why 4-player shouldn't have been kept in place, 8-player is mindless dumb/unfun imo chaos. Not a skill-based or fun battle, period.

-Fucking dumbass Mewtwo DLC, why not free update for both versions, it's just one fucking character!? Why not add Mew? Why not add Oni Link from Majora's Mask people have been asking for since forever (not a reskin of Link, but totally different move set, animations and everything) = DLC that's worth it. Also wouldn't be bad a idea to split to online player server a and add in the ability for people to use a SD Card to add the Project M movement and overall changes calibrations into the game for people who'd enjoy playing that way. = Nintendo listening to it's most rabid players and doing something "innovative" they keep chirping about.

-And now, lackluster button mapping for the Wiimote+Nunchuk combo even Brawl did better than this.

Seriously...cannot fucking wait until they finally release the Wii U/3DS hardware exploits (been 100% working and available through very "secret" private places aka underground hacking/cracking places for months) that allow for true undetectable and unfixable (on Nintendo's end) Homebrew support. So maybe someday this can all be alleviated. *sigh*

Anyway, I only accept 1v1 - Final Destination/Battlefield - No Items online battles (except possibly the Smash ball). Nick - Jintek

I would try power cycling your network equipment (router/modem/anything else) for a few monutes and the Wii U , then see if the issues persist. But it seems you already tried that so maybe try setting a static IP to your Wii U?

Man, I really hate Amazon UK. Just woke up to an email that my order is delayed to December 19th(!) after being told multiple times it was still coming today.

... Anyone know where I can get a Smash bundle still? :(

All-Star is such bullshit. The amount of times I've been killed by the F-Zero cars in Port Town is so infuriating.

I liked the old All-Star better, with battles per franchise. Going against 7 enemies every round is too much.

God I just had a absolutely traumatizing experience online D: I was doing For Glory 1v1's trying to practice Zero Suit Samus. Eventually I ended up fighting against a Pink Ribbon Jigglypuff named Spoon and we ended up playing for 40 minutes... His fighting style... all he ever used were aerial normal attacks and it was terrifying, I could often do nothing against it at all and caused 0% damage while I had 70%+ already... still it was a good training session and taught me quick evasions with rolls :P

The one single time I did beat him, was such a "YES!" moment that I complete dropped the ball afterwards but hey I felt good and think I'm a better player now :)

I'll look into what it takes to set a static IP to my Wii U in a moment.

I'm having some serious Java issues. I go to update it, and it tells me I have an old version installed. It then tried to remove one, and install the other. It works, I open my browser, and... "Install Java". So I look, and I now have both versions installed. I manually uninstall both, and then install the new one, and it works. I open the browser and... "Install Java". Wtf!

Which one is that?

Wii Fit trainer vs. 2 Giant Warios The two do not get off your case for even a second, and they tend to coordinate their smash attacks, so if you get hit at all, you're basically fucked. You can imagine how easy that is considering Wario has barely any move telegraphing.

I know I'm dumb. Would setting a static IP to my Wii U even do anything if it's wired?

Head's up for anyone interested, the collector's edition strategy guide is less than $15 at Amazon if you use promo code HOLIDAY30. Just bought it myself. Apparently has a foreword from Sakurai!
