Lemme guess, he talked shit about a fan?

No he brought up how the guy was a moron.

HEY PHIL
HEY PHIL

LET ME GET AN AUTOGRAPH

he was just telling his side of the story of some idiot on the internet calling him an asshole for not acknowledging him

As valid as all of Punk's complaints were in the podcast, he came off douchy big time here. I know he doesn't like to be called Phil but I don't expect everybody to know that. If I hadn't heard him complain about it before, I would assume he wouldn't want to be referred as CM Punk since he doesn't want anything to do with WWE anymore. He's introduced on Talking Dead as Phil Brooks.

If you know the guys real name, you know he likes to keep his privacy. I don't buy any casual fan calling him Phil.

I wouldn't call ANYONE famous who I don't know personally by their first name. It would always be Mr or Ms, or in this case CM Punk. I wouldn't shout his first name at him in public like we were long lost pals.

yeah it would always be a Mr. or Ms. Name

Like Mr. Punk or something, he'd probably chuckle but you leave the ball in their court if they want you to get familiar, don't go showing your smark the minute you open your mouth lol.

I don't even think his issue was him calling him Phil. I mean while it's stupid to call someone you don't know by their first name, it's the whole tone of it.

He wasn't really asking, he didn't introduce himself, he wasn't polite. Just a "yo bitch, give me a signature. I bought 4 of your shirts you owe me" vibe to it.

Dude just wants to enjoy a hockey game with his wife. If you're gonna bug him about it at least be respectful.

And he said he had taken pictures with four other fans that night, who had all asked politely.

Best thing I saw in that thread was a gif of Suzuki looking suave as fuck in his younger days.

Sounds like Punk didn't want to leave, but Vince/HHH/Steph made him leave by overworking him and underappreciating him.

If they gave him that time off he wanted, he probably would still be working even if his recommendations continued to be ignored and used without credit.

Anyone have a direct link that works? I wanna put this on my phone.

Its not the most convenient option, but i ripped the audio off the youtube link with one of those automated websites that do it, then transferred that to my phone.

Ryback on Twitter about CM Punk's rant on him, multiple tweets joined together for your viewing:

For the record if I quit for being fragile and insecure I would make up excuses too. Things didn't go my way for a long time and I kept going day in and out. Slander is a powerful thing and to state complete made up nonsense for no reason shows his insecurities. I will continue to bust my ass study matches every chance I get, cut promos when driving and push myself for hours on end even when hurt. Thank you.

I don't think that has anything to do with WWE, Punk owns his stage name, and that was actually a big sticking point in his contract negotiations with WWE who wanted to own it like they do John Cena's. LOL

Was listening to the WO podcast and Meltzer mentioned some sort of lump on Kane's back at the Survivor Series. Maybe he should get a 2nd opinion on that lol

Kane better get that checked. If CM Punk could have died from it then Kane should seriously get that checked out.

"Kane, you're pregnant."

Rregarding the "Hey Phil" guy, I always thought that approaching celebs when they are in their own element to be sort of dickish. I mean, what did guy expect? For Punk to take the time to take a picture with him or sign an autograph in a busy concession stand? So then other people can notice and ask for pics and autographs too? It's especially tacky when they are with their families. Off limits IMO. Just leave them alone.

Now comes the part where people take sides based on the wrestler they like the most.

Eh not really, while I am Punk mark but as a long time smark, Punk's story fits in with everything I've read and heard about over the years.

And them firing him on his wedding day fits in with their mo, like punishing Owen Hart for objecting on a lusting over Debra angle which led to another Blazer stint that led to his untimely and unfortunate death.

I just want Sting vs Taker double retirement next year at Mania and I'll be completely done with it.

Edit: Also staph infections are no joke, that wwe doctor should be stripped of his doctor's license.

In BJJ we're always told to maintain good hygiene and always clean our gear to help prevent staph infections. Well at my old gym anyway.

Just finished up the podcast.

I know there are two sides to every story, but hot damn none of this makes WWE look good. It also seems to echo a lot of things I've heard in the past regarding WWE. Mt mind kept drawing parallels to what I read in Bret Hart's book where it felt like Vince was too set in his own ways and sometimes ignored common sense and courtesy.

It really sucks that Punk and WWE had such a falling out because Punk was probably my favorite guy to see on TV and he's what made me a full time watcher again.

didn't he quit before hand?

Not to management until they decided to fire him on his wedding day.

Unless you're talking about the first time after he left, that was his old contract expiring.

Also lol @ Ryback, horrible Goldberg in RVD's gear retread.

Complaining about the incident if it had never come up publicly before would be douchey, but this fan is the one who made a huge deal out of it and got a lot of coverage on wrestling blogs as a result. It struck me as him just taking the chance to set the record straight (or at least, provide additional context).

Thought he said he was finished, said his goodbye's to HHH and Vince, then walked away? Was that not him quitting?

didn't he quit before hand?

He was willing to comeback and instead was fired on his wedding day.

What punk is saying should not surprise anyone. If you get over without the WWE backing you they try to bury you. When Bart Gun beat Doctor Death they punished him by throwing him in with a pro boxer who idiots wouldn't consider to be a real fighter and got his head knocked off. Gun offered to throw the fight, WWE said he didn't have to, then when he wins they make sure to embarrass him on the biggest stage in wrestling while putting him in a dangerous position. Bryan got over and they fed him to Sheamus at a big show and it back fired on them badly. And they still did all they could to not have to push Bryan into the ME. And the greatest example of WWE burying someone is Ryder. He was white hot when they did everything possible to make him look like a wimp, simp, and a chump.

And in regards to medical and injuries the WWE will never change. The wellness policy is bullshit. Sometimes they will bust guys to try and make it look legit. Meanwhile it obvious that Cena is roiding and nothing happens to him.

That's common for team doctors. They're often hired for their pliability.

If I were a WWE wrestler, I'd trust the company doctors to apply bandages and give stitches and that's about it. Anything beyond that pertaining to my health, I would go elsewhere.

Punk really touched on how damaging wrestling can be for the talent. And it seems the WWE is doing little, if anything, to address the damage caused by concussions. More and more we're seeing that repeated brain trauma has a long-term effect on a person's health.

We all knew that when this happened, and Miz passed the concussion "tests" with flying colors and wrestled and dropped the title the next day.

This is going to be great for business. Honestly.

I've not given a fuck about Wrestling for months but the fan-service the last PPV got and this new Punk angle has made me jump onto Hulu to watch this weeks Raw.

First time in months.

“WWE takes the health and wellness of its talent very seriously and has a comprehensive Talent Wellness Program that is led by one of the most well-respected physicians in the country, Dr. Joseph Maroon."
who could this possibly be reassuring to
