I have been waiting for a Final Fantasy VII remake ever since the last generation consoles were announced. I would be EXTREMELY happy if it ever happened, and I'm SURE it will happen eventually (Square cannot miss that chance).
But I think people are going a little too crazy here.
If the remake is in development like Verendus said, Square won't announce it any time soon. That would be ridiculous. Square would be INSTANTLY killing any hype for Final Fantasy XV, a hype that they are just barely rebuilding with the latest trailers and info.
If the remake is truly in development, we may be hearing the first news and teases AFTER Final Fantasy XV is released and its hype starts to die out.
C'mon people. We won't be hearing of such remake any time soon.

The thread always goes back to unrealistic game reveals that has no evidence of existing. It's almost as if people want to be disappointed.
There's at least 10-15 possible announcements with sourced information (from developers & leaks) out there, but let's speculate on Crash, FFVII remake, Shenmue 3, etc.

Same here haha. Some would argue that it's already been remade (Twin Snakes) and therefore doesn't need it, and despite the fact that I liked Twin Snakes, a remake of the original with some expansions would be awesome. Fuck FF7, bring on MGS1 remake.
This is just speculation of course.
The only indication is that Ono has a lead spot at that new studio and that this new studio focuses on

Come on man, what are you even talking about? I never said anything of the sort. I want Square to be the amazing company it once was, but as things stand right now I seriously doubt they could do proper justice to a remake of VII. And all the spin-off stuff like Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core and Advent Children only convinces me of that further.
