wow, great trailer!

franchise rebirth trailers almost always subtly mix in the classical music to the point that it's become cliche. this time they just went balls out with the old tune. i dig it.

Damn, I'm in the mood for a Star Wars game, just like how the JW trailer has me playing Operation Genesis.

Maybe KOTOR. Though I never beat KOTOR 2.

Just curious, what was the first film that the Sith were mentioned in? I don't really recall them being mentioned at all in the original trilogy. Were they a prequel trilogy creation?

Not to derail too much...

But I just want to say how fucking disgusted I am with "humanity" today. Racist fucks twitting that having a black storm trooper is some sort of "liberlul" Agenda. WHAT IN THE FLYING FUCK!?!?!

I hate people who don't know shit about a subject trying to interject political bullshit. Its fucking disgusting.(StormTroopers were later on not only Clones)

Ok *phew*

Back to the subject.. FUCKING HYPE!!!!!

If you've ever heard JJ talk about making Undercovers then the way he cast this film could very well be a "political" statement. At least one for mainstream Hollywood. One I fully endorse.

And I feel like the original trilogy was decades before his time.

Weird reaction.

That doesn't matter. He could have been introduced to them by a parent at an early age.

Trailer makes me almost tear up every time I watch it; I get that burning feeling in my nose and my eyes get a tiny bit teary. And I only watched SW as an adult.

The Sith were first mentioned in the novelization of A New Hope that came out six months before the movie. They've been a thing since the start.

I see the "crossguard" more as exhaust vents for shoddily made or dangerously overpowered lightsabre, especially as the thing's crackling as if it's about to burst apart. The fact it evokes medieval imagery is just a bonus that fits well with the science fantasy vibe of the original trilogy.

It was the x-wing and falcon that sold it for me. Chills down the spine moment. I'm hyping myself up like it's 1999 all over again. Don't burn me JJ!

The best thing about this movie other than new Star Wars is that it will introduce everyone who hasn't seen Attack the Block to the awesome John Boyega.

Daisy Ridley. The new waifu of the nerds.

oh wow

I'm incredibly excited for him that he got the role. Can't imagine how he feels, going from a unknown talent in Attack the Block to mutherfuckin Star Wars.

Kind of coming around to this idea, if I'm honest.

I still think it's a bit out there in terms of practicality, but he's a high ranking Sith so whatever.

Well that's that. Not the biggest Star Wars fan, so I wasn't exactly shocked to be wrong. Especially about Greivous, since I've only seen each prequel movie once.

I think in one of commentary DVDs you see George talk about the body guards and deliberately trying to get it across that they can stop light saber without having to stop and explain it.

That whole bit plays out in the movie just fine.

It'd be a cool visual if that's actually what they are, and the exhaust sputters haphazardly and dangerously. If they're just little light nubs like the trailer seems to present, it's just... whatever. lol

Those don't exist anymore.
Mandalorian iron sounds like pure Karen Traviss fanwank btw.

They could, with a few lines of dialog, or even a "show, don't tell" someone strikes the material, it doesn't break, surprised looks all around.

And like most things awesome about the EU, it's from Old Republic era, tales of the Jedi and up, and according to wookipedia, even mentioned/shown in the clone wars, which means it's Canon! :P

dammit am i the only one that double fist pumps when the millennium falcon buzz's by the two tie fighters and then the music hits???? GET HYPE

full trailer attached to AoU??

I watched it at work and when that Falcon swooped in and the music hit 5 of us watching cheered, it was spontaneous as fuck.

HYPE OVERLOAD.

Find me a metal that'll stop a lightsaber (beyond something that maybe exists in the EU that they'd have to stop the flow of the movie to explain). The cross guard had to be made of the same material.

Though I'm also coming around to the idea of the saber being too powerful and it's just stuff shooting out of the sides.

I can't stop watching the sith part, looks badass! And as stated before, I love the lightsaber!
I love it too, something tells me this Sith is unconventional, that pose when he lights his lightsabre is of someone who fights like Guts from berserk or Siegfried from soulcalibur, really looking forward to see his fight style

This trailer made me like Star Wars again.

I noticed how Disney started out their era with the brand with stories taking place in Tatooine involving Imperial presence there (both Rebels and this movie). They are taking Episode 4 as the gospel.
