After Lin's response to Korra the last time she got involved in a family matter, would you tell her anything? Also another episode of Korra forgetting to tell Lin that her god damn mom is alive
attempted to assassinate a dictator that puts people into re-education camps...
yes, attempted to assassinate a psychotic war criminal.
I wonder how zaheers levitation thing works. Like, we got an explanation for the other sub bending abilities, but all we're told is zaheer let's go of his earthly tether. OK, but what does that actually do?
AV ClubA great episode builds up anticipation for the next, and my excitement for Chapter 10 is piqued after what Beyond The Wilds sets up. Lin, Opal, and Bolin on a covert mission. Varrick and Asami teaming up to protect Republic City. Korra back at full power, power that Zaheer describes as limitless. The future sounds thrilling, and after an emotionally charged episode like Beyond The Wilds, I cant wait to see what this shows writers have in store for the final four episodes.
IGNThis week's Korra was a return to form for the animated series, after two good-not-great episodes. Between the spirit vine situation in Republic City and the President's decision to reinforce the city, it's clear we're in the home stretch of Book Four. "Beyond the Wilds" had tons of great character moments, including Varrick and Asami's reluctant team-up and Opal and Lin's secret mission plan. Of course, the standout sequence this week was Korra and Zaheer working together to get Korra back into the Spirit World, which led to a breakthrough for Korra.
ScreencrushPrime 'Legend of Korra' is the fusion of philosophy, meditation, and animated wonder. Beyond the Wild delivers on all three, a momentous blast of positive energy before Korra inevitably confronts Kuvira. A line to Mako on embracing the past, not trying to eradicate its darkest moments, is a lesson most adults can't learn, let along the kids who may be watching the show in their developmental years.

yeah that was cute.I was quite amused by the way Korra used earthbending to play with Naga. One of those things that seems so obvious but you never would have actually thought of it.
Her bending seems to be the most inventive while playing with Naga, like with last season where she used airbending to throw a ball.I was quite amused by the way Korra used earthbending to play with Naga. One of those things that seems so obvious but you never would have actually thought of it.
so.... toph gives a shit what happens in the swamp?
She's old and single. I'm sure those big thick vines can provide her with companionship
Does this mean spirit vines vibrate? She's old and single. I'm sure those big thick vines can provide her with companionship
Mannnnnnnnnn Toph is 100% correct. Korra is the worst Avatar ever.
Side note Meelo only gets better with age. They need more of him on the show.
Some people man...
Book 1 ends
"seriously? She just gets her power back? Bullshit, It wouldve been amazing to have book 2 focus on her road to recovery, a deep emotional, self discovering quest, that's what this stupid writers needed to do"
Book 4
"Fuck this Shit is slow, get over it already!"
This fandom man lol
That was all back before everybody realized how bad the writing and pacing for most of the series would be.Some people man...

Sometimes I think I'm the only person on GAF who doesn't think this show is garbage.
I get the arc, it does just seem really slow though and this would be all fine if they weren't pissing away whatever potential Kuvira had. Character recovery is fine as long as you balance it out with a likeable enough cast. Its just fine, this is pretty much what one should expected of a character arc like this, except for the clip show, all episodes have been a small step towards recovery, building up for a grand finale.
You recover little by little, sometimes you even go some steps back before advancing again.
The complaints feel ridiculous to me. I wonder when are we going to reach the point of whining because the shape of a sword is different than in TLA

It's above average for Season 4
Too little Kya, Bumi, and Kai so far this season.
Bryan said in an interviewthat Kya isn't showing up again this season. Still a chance we'll see a bit more of Kai and Bumi though.
Kya was briefly in episode two. They literally shipped her off on a boat. Just started watching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. They really should've written Kuvira like Dio. I mean if you're going to make a villain make him despicable as fuck within the first 15 minutes, because damn. Dio is an off the charts asshole and I haven't even finished the first episode yet.Not even once? That's cold.

Because at that point there was time for her to grow as a character. Leaving it to your last season to actually give your protagonist any actual character development and doing it in such poor way at the expense of the plot as well is mind boggling. Some people...

no please get that annoying brat away from korra forever
Link to the interview in question.Nope episode 2 will be her last ever appearance. They said she didn't make the cut as they already had too many characters for Book 4.
It's not like it's the first time they've wasted the potential of a good character. Not this shit again. Ugh, so much potential wasted.
The animation may have been a bit iffy in parts of today's episode but they sure did a great job with the hair in it.
