No, they shouldn't have done a Smash Bros rip off. It should have used lifebars and supers should do damage and/or status elements.

As someone who learned PSABR over the last few months and is now currently playing Smash Bros Wii U, the neutral game alone is completely different from Smash Bros. And that's a good thing. You can have 2 games in the same sub-genre that plays completely different.

Ex. Street Fighter and Guilty Gear or Virtua Fighter and Tekken.

It's a game that should have never been made. You know why the staff ruined "solid" gameplay? It's because they realized how utterly unoriginal their game was and threw in arbitrary and gimmicky mechanics to differentiate themselves. It would be a travesty if they tried to rework an inherently putrid idea. I don't get the calls for millions of dollars to go into failed ideas and remakes of old games. You would think new IPs would still be a priority just a year into the lifecycle of these new consoles.
 
I wonder if we'll see anything Doom related. I mean, at QuakeCon (quite a while ago), they showed fof gameplay for the first time exclusively to attendants for the most part they seemed blown away. Isn't about time the general public gets to see it? Maybe announce PS4 exclusive content/co-marketing?
 
Just a week. Just one week. I'll propably take Edge's advice from earlier and not check this thread anymore or the usual outlets. Waited this long without any real spoilers so may as well go in blind and have some suprises for once. Entertaining thread though.
 
This Worthyedge stuff is getting ridiculous... I mean, what proofs that he even sended anything..? .He's all like, send me a PM! and then answers to only one... Sure whatever dude.

At this stage I think we need 2 threads, one where all the constant hints and innuendo can continue and another where we can speculate and hype to our hearts content without actually discovering anything.

I agree with Bum Rush, take it easy Worthy, you are going to invite some attention from the mods. I just feel like you're operating in some grey area that may be unfavorably looked upon.

I'm hyped though, definitely hyped.

This is getting crazy.

Anyway, I'm going to go with a random guess and say "Deus Ex 2 timed exclusive"

Square Enix is the only major third party IMO that has made it clear that they're willing to trade timed exclusivity for $$$.
