Yeah, no fuck this so much.
Tired of people trying to make criticisms invalid by ignoring context. If you don't have any issue with the show, that's great. But not everyone that has issues with it are doing it just to complain, or are being unreasonable in their criticisms. Jesus Christ. Always seems to be the same 2-3 posters that pull this shit too. Drive by posts complaining about people in this thread complaining.
I don't even care anymore, because I don't have the patience. Will be my last post in this thread. So yeah fuck this.
I've watched Kill La Kill, Gundam Build Fighters and just started Jojo's Bizarre Adventure during the airing of season four. I've enjoyed the first two immensely and I'm enjoying Jojo (Dat DIO!!) and those shows know what they are. They're not trying to be something they're not. And they're very rewarding from a narrative point, because they at least evolve their characters a bit. Aila in Build Fighters didn't stay a stoic bitch, Satsuki didn't stay a stoic bitch and she learned a lot and you realized that she does care about her friends. Matoi wasn't the best written character, but she grew up a bit. Dio's an ASSHOLE!! But the show was never afraid to portray him this way. He's an awesome villain. You hate the shit out of the guy, but you love hating him.Nah Azula I agree. It's like they're ignoring everything we've discussed and only come to the thread to make the equivalent of *rolls eyes*. It's fine if they enjoy the show but saying "fuck this Fandom it's a good show" is seriously irritating when people aren't hating because they want to. We just don't want to be spoon fed shit and call it soup.
And for the sake of argument saying sarcastically that we can write something better if we tried is extremely dismissive and very much a useless argument in anything. Can somebody not judge a poor crumbling bridge because they're not a civil engineer?

Noooo, you guys are just being way too critical, it's a good show, why don't you just enjoy it
you guys are such haters. I need to listen that Taylor Swift's Shake it off 24/7 just to deal with this thread, jeez
Their bad guys aren't even that bad. Kuvira's a bad guy just because the show says she is. I mean shit. FDR had the Japanese thrown in internment camps and nuked Japan twice and look how he's written in the history books. To be fair, I'm not being sarcastic in saying that most people here could probably write a 50+ episode series better if they tried. At least a more entertaining one if given the same budget and time.
Because Legend of Korra doesn't just fail as a successor to Atla, but also messes up basic plotting and story structure most of the time. Even if the messages weren't going to be as deep or impactful as ATLA, it should have still been fun. But it fails on both accounts.
My biggest gripe is that their is no themeing between season to season. No over arching lesson or even something it's trying to tell the vier.
Even series like Kill La Kill had some themes (Don't take the people around you for granted and never forget how amazing everyone around you is) Gurran? (Evolution, no matter what happens in your life you have to look forward,)
ATLA? (Balance, and perhaps staying through to your ideas even if perhaps they may not be the wisest, they are the one thing that are yours and yours alone.) This isn't even covering the whole slew of mini lessons or ideas form episode to episode.
Korra? Fuck all. Season 4 is the first season that even attempted this. Even the later sections of fucking Naruto still had themeing no matter how awful they were. (History repeats itself unless someone is brave enough to break the cycle. Understanding pain and why people do horrible things is just as important as stopping said horrible thing.)
I want to say Korra is more flare than substance, but it even fall shorts then. There are far too many lull periods for it to be just goofy fun and it feels like it's trying to tell a story that devolves into just beat the bad guy because they are bad.
I couldn't stand it and felt genuinely disappointed since I was hoping for more Gurren Lagann.I keep forgetting to start Kill La Kill. Or maybe my mind is intentionally stopping me.

I really wished they did more with Satsuki and Ryuko after they both learned the truth, but it never happened. All in all I still enjoyed the show though. I found it to be quite fun.It's...good not great, but I'm glad I looked at it.
Oddly I actually think if it was shorter it would have been better 12-16 EP instead of 24.
Since the story tends to drag around the middle.

Her arc did seem to come out of nowhere.Yes, shows pretty good, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone that's not used to watching anime.
Also,KLK has one thing I can't exactly put my finger on
It felt like the ending we got was not what was planned in early episodes, specially the
entire part Nui got in the story.

It needs a protein bar.Lmao the Air Bison
Many of the posters here have been posting in these thread for years and have been critical of Korra because the show keeps repeating the same mistakes. You're basically saying "let's see you do better" but you know that's a pretty silly response to criticism.Oh sure, everyone here can write a better plot in 15 minutes judging by all the comments.
Im just saying this terrible, horrible putrid excuse of a plot is pretty enjoyable the way it is. Despite its flaws.
The way you talk about it, this seems like a sequel on the level of Eureka Seven AO in a awfullness, when its actually a good show.

See, you're projecting this hyperbole when most people have just criticised the season's pacing. Take a step back.
In what way am I talking about Korra as if it's as bad as ESAO? Please elaborate.
Also another episode of Korra forgetting to tell Lin that her god damn mom is alive
Solid enough episode. I would have simplified the reason Korra needed to get into the Spirit World so that we got more time between Zaheer and Korra in the episode. Could have Bolin/Opal for another episode too but that tour group thing wasn't necessary so they should chop that one up.

He should watch it for Satsuki alone. I didn't need the show to renew my interest in anime, but it sure gave me a new woman to like. Once you get passed the Satsuki front half of the show she's pretty cool lady.it's a lot of fun. i credit it with renewing my interest in anime.
i just finished madoka magica about a month ago and thought it was amazing. at 12 episodes, it's a pretty short run, and well worth the ride (it's currently on netflix).
They made the mistake of severing his ties with Varrick.I hate to say it, but I think I've grown very tired of Bolin.![]()

Please tell me you at least watched Space Battleship Yamato 2199! To watch Kill la Kill before that...
Sometimes I think I'm the only person on GAF who doesn't think this show is garbage.
this is my anime timeline:
1997 - dragon ball z
1998 - pokemon
1999 - princess mononoke, dbz, pokemon, tenchi muyo (cartoon network stuff)
2000-2007: toonami, midnight run, adult swim (basically when i was watching anime the most. samurai champloo, the other tenchi shows, cowboy bebop, paranoia agent, gits, etc are all in here. it ends with eureka seven because holy balls what a shitty show)
2007-2013 - scattered stuff (the girl who leapt through time, ponyo, and katanagatari)
2014 - knights of sidonia - this was so boring i needed something a little looser and fun. on a whim i started kill la kill. since then, i've seen the trigun movie, fate/zero, madoka magica, psycho-pass, welcome to the nhk, the devil is a part-timer... but no battleship yamato.
where in the 00s i was at the mercy of cable networks, now i'm at the mercy of netflix and amazon prime (does that even have anime?)
I wonder how zaheers levitation thing works. Like, we got an explanation for the other sub bending abilities, but all we're told is zaheer let's go of his earthly tether. OK, but what does that actually do?
Again.
Had Nick orderers full seasons from the get go AND the writers swap the seasons villains around, this shit could've easily stood toe-to-toe with ATLA.
