A question for Edge and the other dude :

Ok this announce is a 8/10. And in your opinion the annouce of Rise of Tomb Raider exclusive on Xbox One was a ? 6/10 ? 5/10 ?

What good '3D jump and runs' even were there? Sly and that's it? Ratchet? There's not a lot of games that were really trying to be 3D platformers, there were a ton of games that were trying to have platforming elements. Did I just miss an entire generation of 3D platformers?

You not caring (if you don't) about Crash doesn't change the fact that it would be a huge megaton.

Where are TLG on the scale?
 
My guess is it's a revival of franchise that was big in the past (especially for Playstation?) but has been dormant for a while. Maybe Doom 4 as an exclusive.

That, or it's something nobody has even thought of, which would be great and far preferable IMO. Maybe something Project Morpheus related?
 
Any multiplat going exclusive is bad news if it didnt start on the console

The Last Guardian is not on the console war scale. That's a first party property. That's on the First Party Exclusive Scale.
 
I don't understand. Is Edge actually revealing the leak via PM? If so: what a terrible friend and impatient baby. If not: why the hell does everyone want one so bad?

GTA? What are you talking about?

Rockstar "owed" Sony an exclusive because they bought the rights to LA Noire, which Sony had already spent a good $20 million on by that point. So instead of paying out what they owed Sony (which 2K really couldn't afford at the time), they gave them an exclusive instead.

That said, it's been so long since then that I wouldn't be surprised if they changed the terms of the deal. It might be why they've had exclusive marketing/DLC deals for every Rockstar game post-GTA4 (RDR, LA Noire, Max Payne 3 and GTA5).
 
Has anyone said Siphon Filter yet? Sony Bend has not put out a game since Vita's launch (save for helping on that card game) and were hiring for a "AAA console game" so it fits. And they were the excellent PSP SF guys. That's where I put my money.

Hey Im going to leak this NDA'd information on the internet that could get my old friend into at some serious trouble with his job and post it on a forum, thus ruining a surprising millions of dollars in the making, just to get fake internet popularity.

They're rumored to be working on an open world horror game.

Rumors very strongly suggest they're making an open world horror game for PS4. New IP. Not zombies. That's practically confirmed at this point.

Who said I don't think it's one because I don't care about it personally? I understand that Fallout (EDIT: or a Sony-exclusive Skyrim successor, for example) would be a megaton, even though I never played or cared about the franchise(s). I just doubt that Crash would be one^^ But well, I can't know for sure, of course. We can all agree that FFVIIR would be the biggest megaton in the industry, though, I'm sure.

My Gaf stalking skills have failed me, I see. Thank you both^^ Open world horror... an open world Medievil may be the greatest thing ever, but keeping imagination in check for now^^ New IP? So I guess it's not Bend... I need to leave this thread before I get spoiled only a week out^^

For a lot of europeans especially between 18-30 (like me) Crash (and Mario) are what they've grown up with.

That's because it hasn't been exclusive since PS1. Why do some people seem to think that Sony would release a new Crash exactly as it was back then with the same graphics and dated gameplay??

Guys, I even said two posts ago that I played and loved Crash 1-3 as a kid and all my friends did, too (Europeans). It's not that I don't like it, just that I don't think it would be appropriate for the highlight of such a hyped (even officially!) event, IMO.

I guess we'll just have to disagree. I think a new ND made Crash game would be massive, massive news.

Not from the original developers, ever, that I know. Or even any developer in Japan.

But I'd really like to see any other developer pick up the genre left behind by Irem.

It must have really, really sucked, to be mid-way developing Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4, and for Tohoku to happen.

Why wouldn't it be? Crash was basically their mascott on PS1.
 
Crash will won't be "big" if it by any chances looks like and ends up being an amazing game.

Bringing back franchises like that will often result in disappointment, unless you really really deliver.

It's a big 3rd party full exclusive that will make people rage (according to tweets, teases, etc ...)


Imo, from the impressions of the guys that know what it is it seems it'll be similar to Bayonetta 2.
Megaton material but for a specific group.
Might be that Capcom game.
