Np ggs. Yeah. I was standing there with link because he suppose to auto block projectiles but i guess you have to stand there for a certain amount of time or maybe it's not all.

I knew what you were doin and I was just laughing cause I was confused too, hahaha. I think it just might not work against certain energy things, like Falco's lasers I guess. Cause I've seen it block a ton of shit right off the bat

Good games, Trey! I'm pretty tired.

Man, to think you use the characters that give me a hard time. XD I really struggle against Peach and Pikachu. They're so awkward to fight.

I see, maybe only solids. It was hard to get range attacks through with that shield.

Went to my cousin's place today where we unlocked all stages/characters on his savefile, completed all co-op events, played some Smash Tour and goofed around with 2v2 online team battles VS anyone.

Smash Tour is a lot more fun than I expected at first. It's really like Mario Party, but more in the sense that you're constantly trying to screw each other over with items, boobytraps and by snatching that character from the board he wants so badly. It's going to be amazing with 4 actual human players.

And the 2vs2 online really took me back to the good days of Mario Strikers Charged online multiplayer. It's not so much about winning as it is about picking characters to fit a theme (and play like total idiots, yin-yang Samus duo rocket spam go!). Haven't laughed so much playing a game for a looong time, so far this game has delivered in spades for me.

If anyone ever wants to play with me on Wii U, my NNID is Geistbox (I play from Sweden on a wired connection and I feel it's reliable enough as I've played some good rounds with a friend in Texas).

I've had so many weird matches on For Glory where we just stop fighting and decide to just do dumb shit. I was fighting a Pac-Man player (I was Zelda) and for most of the last match we were just taunting eachother, trying Dash-dance, killing ourselves accidentally and spending a full minute just slowly walking into eachother.

It's times like this that I wish the game had full voice-chat.

So far what makes me appreciate the game the most is how much my girls and kids their age like it. It's pretty incredible how it instantly Smash hooks them. As someone new to the series, I found out it's a fantastic cross generation experience.

Just got this game, first time smash player and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Where should I start? doesn't seem to be a tutorial. Does anyone have a good beginner's guide?

My recommendation is to just pick one character and stick with it for now. I chose Lucina my bae and kept dying over and over in all star mode until I won. You learn better what each move does, get a feel for the physics, timings, etc. I'm still discovering a few new things about her even after probably 50 online matches :P

But otherwise all you need is to know how to execute every combination of move, which is neutral/side/up/down+attack, neutral/side/up/down+special, side/up/down SMASH, neutral/forward/back/up/down+attack in the air.

I have a question about controls - does anyone bind jump to the trigger? It makes so much sense. My hands have stopped cramping.

Villager is definitely my favorite character right now. It's just so fun to use him/her and that tree is so satisfying when it connects 🌳

I LOVE playing against Shulk with Kirby. I love the entire concept of the Monado Arts, and I get to practice using them. It's unfortunate that some people don't know how to use them.

It's also unfortunate that I'm garbage with Kirby in this game. Oh well!

I really really really (x10) hate the button combination for quitting a match.

Yeah, specially when using the Gamepad. 80% of the times I involuntarily action the Photo Button :(

By the way, I really need to get better at this game if I want to 100 % it ;__; any tips or something? I'll start watching professional tournaments to see if I can learn something from sheer attention only.

So it looks like 2 stocks is gonna be the standard in tourneys for this game. I like 3 stocks better.

Even with the improved kill times the Wii U brings, some characters are just too specifically designed to draw out matches into wars of attrition (Rosalina to an extent, Villager, Duck Hunt).
