Sorry I posted an image of a straight white man. I'll try to be better in the future.

This post is amazing.

Anyone already talk about this?

We have the art work of where she is going. Although if you put that one with this and a rumor about
Leia meeting with the Hutts. It would explain something in that artwork.

This is like the weird dream, ate something spicy before I went to bed and was thinking about Star Wars before I fell asleep trailer. Its a bunch of things I recognize in contexts that do not make sense. What the fuck was that R2 ball thing?

Are you serious with this comment? Casting a black actor (he's not African American) is insulting?

I admit that comment was alittle extreme. I was just somewhat disappointed with the teaser especially since the prequels all had exceptional ones (especially Phantom Menace) I should probably reserve judgement until I see the finished product.

I think it's clear you don't like the trailer, and that's fine. But from what we know about the cast, it's a little odd, if not completely wrong, to say that the studio is engaging in token diversity.

I wouldn't call this token diversity. For me token diversity is making Johnny Storm an African American in the new Fantastic Four movie. However in Star Wars we now have these new characters with new stories who have their own chance to shine on their own two feet. This is creativity and it's refreshing that they didn't get lazy with it. The creation of new characters who have their own lives.

Is the Clone Wars animated series worth watching?

It seems there are two. A CGI and another traditionally hand-drawn one. Which is first? Are they both canon?

A black make, a white female, and a hispanic male are the 3 key hero leads, that isn't diverse?

The issue I have with all Star Wars movies is there are hardly any non-white actors. You can count them on one hand. Maybe two. Sure, TFA has two non-white main characters and one female main character, but to me, it seems cheap because of how few non-white actors have been in the movies, traditionally.

That's not to say there should be anything taken away from those three. I'm sure their acting will be good.

Only one is canon, the CG one. It's a damn good series with a variety of different types of stories in Star Wars. The traditional one is a great mini series of animated star wars fights, you lose nothing from watching both.

CGI one is canon, the other one is no longer canon.

Many people here recommend the CGI one, personally I never got into it.

The hand-drawn one is extremely good, I recommend you watch it even if it isn't canon, as it isn't very long.

Only the cgi one is canon. Well worth watching. 2D one is good too despite not being actually part of the series technically.

CGI one is worth it, just gotta get past a few episodes. Can probably skip the movie.

Btw, are the stormtroopers people or clones in SW canon? Stopped caring after the prequels and never tried to think about it too hard.

If they're clones, can we go back to thinking they're people now? Any chance Abrams will address this in story?

They are no longer clones by the time of the OT

I believe George has confirmed there can only be one black man in the Star Wars universe at a time. Sort of like the Rule of Two.

If they wanted to really show diversity they would have picked a mixed race or middle eastern guy as the lead. It's frankly insulting that Hollywood still thinks throwing in an african american lead suddenly makes the movie "diverse". There is more to this world than white and black people.

Let me help you out here.

This guy?

That's Oscar Isaac. He's part of the main cast. He's not white. He's Guatemalan/Cuban.

So, uh... they already did.
