Alright, last game for me. I had enough butt kicking for one night lol
You got better without all those excessive specials.
Anyone else up for some last minute 1v1s before I head to bed?

GGs, everyone. I had a lot of fun.
Barrel Baptism for stage of the year.
Welp, I guess that was you DCing Feltrol?![]()
Sorry, Vena. Thank you for taking your time with me...
For me, it's Megaman. His fsmash always hits me just at the wrong time. -_-Biggest all star assholes:
Bowser Jr.
Stage Selection
Fox duo
Lucario's Up B
No worries, fix your interwebs!
I guess Feltrol won. I'll play him first, then later if you're still around or if its not too late I'll play you Liquid.
Next time we play, I'll not use Robin as he's my main and I know him too well to be of any use in learning lol.
I'll stick with Palutena since I know next to nothing about her but enjoy her playstyle.![]()
I get that but on 3DS you just have to change it once and it becomes default. Why allow so many different controllers and then not be able to set a default control scheme. Seems silly.Make a profile. Change the controls on that profile and save it. Now its forever set as lonf as you choose the profile
Its exactly like Brawl
I'm on it! I want to beat your Robin.
lmao could've fooled me. I don't really know anything about the advanced stuff like invincibility frames, lag and proper blocking/dodging. I should probably practice that stuff on high level CPUs though that hasn't been working out too well for me so far. Landing lag is a lot more noticeable with human opponents.
Well the room is open if you want to try again, I'm just sitting around waiting for someone to show up.![]()
I would like to, but I turned off the console some time ago.
Besides, it would be too embarrassing for me to DC again!
Alrighty. Some other night, I should probably be heading to bed myself, anyway.
Move the CPU coin off of the Random square onto that of your desired opponent
wheres the best resource to start learning the smash systems? i used to be ok at melee in my circle of friends but online thats not gonna cut it. i need to learn good block/grab skills etc and the terminology some of you are tossing around![]()
i dont want to compete, just not get slaughtered online, so need to learn the systems a little betterWell, that depends. I like to play Smash, but I'm not into the very competitive side of it, so it's not all necessary - in my opinion.
Focus on the others you mentioned first, specially blocking.
Sure. I'll add you. I'm Cranzor.
What gear setup did you use, and how did you reliably take down the hands?![]()
Fucking FINALLY.
Glad I never have to do that again. AND that I didn't need to use a hammer!

For Falcon, if I remember, you have:
back aerial or bair - lagless
up air or uair - lagless
That means that using those moves allows you to immediately follow into another move when you touch the ground. Conversely, your down air (dair) and forward air (fair) are very laggy moves and end up with a lot of frames spent getting up or righting yourself when you hit the ground. So, usually, the idea is to use bair or uair whenever possible and if you think it will lead into something on the ground. dair and fair are only for when you know you will score a hit and have to weigh that chance accordingly since they are very strong moves but with a long lag time. Falcon's special are all very laggy but Raptor Boost is a very strong KO move, and I'd only recommend using it at high percents to avoid it getting stale. (Overusing a move weakens it with time until you lose a stock.)
If you saw, I kept jumping only slightly off the ground and using my fair and uair with Robin. That's because those moves, for him, are lagless and I can keep jumping at you with them and then lead into something else immediately (like the fire spell). That's called an approach, and its a big part of the game and learning how to do it safely is important since its basically what starts any encounter.
Throws are another approach but if you miss, obviously, you lagg a lot.

My Palutena is fairly competent in 1v1s but struggles a lot more when you add extra players.
Thanks, this is actually really helpful. I wish I could use throws more often during a match, my reflexes and timing are terrible and I almost always miss. I also have an issue with controlling my character's movement in general. I'm always missing aerial attacks and land facing the wrong way haha.
Mind if I ask, but where did you use your hammer?
Shoes that equipped me with a homerun bat, a badge that upped the power of the bat and the Vampire Brawn Badge, for health reasons. I spend the penultimate match letting myself get hit above 100% to start enough with a decent amount of health for the Hands.
I had no trouble with the hands as I've done Classic 8.0 countless times and I can pretty much read their attacks flawlessly by now. I went in with like 200HP or something and won the battle with 140 left, haha
Also, throwing the bat at a hand takes off quite some HP, IIRC.
Haha, is that the smash tour metroid block near the bottom?
Is it even possible to complete this challenge without the bat?
I can handle the two hands fine, but add in another two minions and I struggle. :/Shoes that equipped me with a homerun bat, a badge that upped the power of the bat, and the Vampire Brawn Badge, for health reasons. By upping the power of the bat, do you mean reduce its startup?
If you start Smash Tour, it autoplays if you leave it alone. I just pick up the controller when a boss appears to get the challenge done, etc.
lol, sure. I seem to be getting a lot of requests for Palutena battles recently XDYou'll have to fight my noob attempts at Palutena!
2 left for All Star Hard; Megaman seems like the hardest for me since his Fsmash lacks damage and killing power, his Upsmash hitbox sucks and his Downsmash has a huge amount of lag. Any tips?

Falcon is incredibly fast and slides a lot on grabs, so keep that in mind. You may not be messing up as much as Falcon is just really, really fast, lol.

I've used Link as my main ever since SB64 so yeah, Falcon is a teeny bit fast for me. Link always worked for me when I was facing my less-than-amazing friends in 64 and Brawl, but he just isn't cutting it this time aroundThough I realize now the problem is more to do with my skill rather than the character I'm using.
