Steam "Exploration Sale" -- i.e. Autumn Sale -- now live (November 26 - December 2)

Wow I might go ahead and buy Alien: Isolation... Heard nothing but good words from it and it's 50% off.

Or... I could way for Christmas sales and hope for a better discount. Decisions, decisions.

If anyone missed the Amazon deal, Shadows of Mordor is 45 BRL on Nuuvem, using Google currency conversion that's ~$19.50 / £12.50 / €15.50, though expect a little extra due to Nuuvem using Paypal's "generous" services.

I assume the game is in English and not region-locked.

And oh Mortal Kombat is like £1.

Is the Director's Cut much improved?

The Director's Cut is a standalone expansion based off the Dragonfall DLC that was released for the base game. It is significantly improved, both mechanics and story wise, but the base game does have quite a bit of information regarding the lore and is still pretty fun.

Also, once you play the DC, you'll find it hard to get into the base game, simply because of how much better it is in every respect. I'd suggest starting with the base game then going to the DC, you'll enjoy it a lot more.

I heeded GAF's advice on waiting and it paid off. Just got additional 10% discount (originally 50%) for Shadowrun Dragonfall. Tomorrow, I shall snag Baldur's Gate EE (let's see if that goes on a daily sale as well).

Thanks GAF, I didn't dun GooFed.

No more dailies. Buy everything today or wait for winter sale.

And I can't wait for the 'what, sale is over? but I thought....' posts tomorrow. :)

Wait, I thought that Dragon Fall was an expansion itself. I got the DC and presumably the base game (Dragon Fall) is included?

Thanks for the heads up

Is there a thread for hidden cheap gems that werent on dailies which are safe to purchase now?

I found some by looking manually through my wishlist....

Winter sale is fairly soon, there is a good chance Trails will have some discount then.
to be honest I think it's more than worth full price, though

Half the reason I was waiting for a sale is because I heard the game was hurting for some patches. How does it run now?

The DC is a DC of "Dragonfall", which in of itself is a dlc for Shadowrun Return. Basically, what they did with the DC is improved upon the dlc named Shadowrun: Dragonfall and made it a standalone expansion. The DC does not include the original base game, Shadowrun Returns.

Well I haven't bought a single game this sale but I'm *thinking* about Child of Light. Personally I can't say I've ever experienced an issue with UPlay but man do people bitch about it on the Steam forums as well as other places. I trust you guys here more than them... Is it really as bad as everyone says or just a minor nuisance? As far as I know, my UPlay account is active and works fine.

I didn't follow the game, what happened? Did it turn out bad?

It didn't turn out that bad. Some feel it was never feature complete (which may or may not bother you depending on what you are looking for.) I thought it was a decent RTS with a neat twist. Not top tear but it was worth the backing price I paid for it.

I made it through the sale without a single purchase. Nothing I wanted matched the price I was willing to pay.

That just means the summer sale next year is going to have significant wallet threatening potential...

Ah, thanks.

How is Tomb Raider? I have $4.06 and I'm looking for one last game to get before the sale ends. I never played a Tomb Raider game, by the way.

Depending on who you ask, it's one of the best games of the year it released or it was an offensively terrible experience that you wish you never bothered with.

I'm in camp 2. And it cost me less than this sale price.

Yea it's hot garbage, the community has already abandoned it. The reputation they got from that game crushed their follow up kickstarter as well and they ended up laying off a bunch of people.

Tomb Raider was the best Uncharted game not named Uncharted 2, and it's also has kind of a resident evil game tucked in there for good measure. I had no affinity for the older TR games, and the only TR game i had completed and enjoyed before TR2013 was Legend, but with TR2013 I was having so much fun with it i couldn't put it down. One of the best games easily for 2013, especially if you don't have any of the hang-ups that some of the older TR fans have regarding the direction the series went.

If you have no issues with uPlay, then it should work perfectly fine. I have almost 20 games on it.

Totally worth it if you want a fun, well-designed third-person shooter with high production values and plenty of cool setpieces. That said, it bears very little resemblance to previous TR games and is quite linear (there is an "open world," but there's little need to backtrack unless you're trying to 100% everything).

Once again the DLC for skyrim (aka dragonborn) is more expensive than the full game with all expansions (aka Legendary Edition). I dont want to buy the full game again just to purchase a single DLC that I do not have.

Also its been 1.5 years, and dragonborn still gets -33% off compared with dawnguard's 50%

It is absolutely great. Beautifully looking, more open than Uncharted, more survival based. One of the gotys 2013.
lol, not at all. It wants you to think that, but it's all pretend. The ability to backtrack is useless, and there is absolutely nothing "survival based" in the game at all. It's Uncharted without the charm, the wit and the writing, and less varied setpieces.

Do you like Uncharted?

It's a QTE infested corridor shooter.

I had my fun with Uncharted and I wouldn't mind having one similar to it, so I think that sets my decision to buy it. Thanks for the opinions, everyone!

I forgot they did a second kickstarter. Did it fail?

Don't give Uber Entertainment any money. They are terrible shit developers and have never made a good business decision. There are hundreds of other games on Steam you should buy instead.
