you guys just seemed so aimless it was hard to watch :(

Let me change the course

IF you were making a show to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sony PlayStation--

1. How many 'big' announcements do you think is sufficient to make it a memorable show?
2. How many new AAA titles should be revealed?
3. How many old AAA titles already announced w/ new trailers/gameplay should be shown?
4. What type of presence should indie games have?
5. If you could list three 'dream' games you could have to emphasize the memories of people's time with PS, what would they be? Like would you try to secure old IPs, would you try to announce new versions in old franchises (like Jet Moto, PLEASE Sony PLEASE)?
6. What type of information would you like to hear about games already announced (ex: features you'd like to see in uncharted 4 that maybe weren't in the series before)?
7. What type of shit would you like to hear announced for the PS4 itself, feature-wise?

Making it worse with every additional post. :lol

Expectations are through the roof.

Seriously. This is about the history of Playstation. I don't expect a plethora of game announcements. Just a few and talk about the Playstation brand.

If we get a Chrono announcement, I won't ask for anything else this gen. Nothing...and you can permaban me if I do.

1. 1 Megaton
2. 3 - 5 would do.
3. Many. Let's get some sizzle reel.
4. Huge, they are bringing better games than AAA these days.
5. Crash Bandicoot, Final Fantasy and a selfish (Destruction Derby)
6. Gameplay walkthrough. Not live. No canned sheningans.
7. PSN Name change, don't care about anything else.

1. 20
2. 20
3. 20
4. Almost none
5. Crash, Jak, Parappa.
6.?
7. Suspend/Resume

So I guess no PSN name change?

Edit: I may have read this wrong. Thought this was giving us hints lol.

At this rate were gonna need a bigger thread.

I just wanted to see everyone's baseline for what would constitute a good show, it's genuinely innocuous questions. One thing that always happens when a show comes along is that people have such insane expectations that no matter what is revealed they aren't happy. I loved Sony's Gamescom 2013 show, for example, but the common complaint was there were too many indies. But I loved that shit.

So I would like to see what people's "ideal show" would look like, if they were making it

1. 5
2. 2
3. 2
4. Plenty
5. Crash Bandicoot, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo
6. Gameplay trailers
7. Suspend/Resume, DLNA, Custom background music, mkv support.

I still remember booting up the PSOne for the first time . It seemed weird placing a CD into a games console and the stereo audio was so crisp and clear as the playstation logo faded up... Good memories.

Shenmue 1 and 2 HD have been finished and ready to be released for a while apparently, but Sega won't release them for some reason.

I've heard that before but never believed. Of course waiting for the ball to get rolling on a Shenmue 3 game might be the reason. Maybe they were waiting for a partnership to help fund it or something, and maybe Sony has stepped in. I don't know how much economic sense it might make for Sony but as a positive piece of PR it'd be worth the price for that alone. I mean I've just read they spent $222 million sponsoring FIFA tournaments for adverting/PR, a fraction of that would make a decent modern Shenmue game and engender a hell of a lot of goodwill with us gamer folk.

Let me change the course

IF you were making a show to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sony PlayStation--

1. How many 'big' announcements do you think is sufficient to make it a memorable show? Three is a pretty solid number, as far as "big" announcements go.
2. How many new AAA titles should be revealed? Three.
3. How many old AAA titles already announced w/ new trailers/gameplay should be shown? Depends on the show length. Minimum 5.
4. What type of presence should indie games have? 25-30% of the show
5. If you could list three 'dream' games you could have to emphasize the memories of people's time with PS, what would they be? Like would you try to secure old IPs, would you try to announce new versions in old franchises (like Jet Moto, PLEASE Sony PLEASE)? Totally the FF7 Remake, though I would also love a true FFT sequel. My other dream games (not SquareEnix related) wouldn't reasonably be part of this question.
6. What type of information would you like to hear about games already announced (ex: features you'd like to see in uncharted 4 that maybe weren't in the series before)? Release dates or windows.
7. What type of shit would you like to hear announced for the PS4 itself, feature-wise? Honestly don't care at this point.

Answers above.

Ok let's see now

1. 3-4 announcements

2. About 3

3. Uncharted 3, Order will both be there. Drawing a blank on what other announced AAAs are there. Is TLG considered to be AAA? :S

4. Big presence. Indies should get the spotlight as much as possible because they are important to gamers as well as the company due to them filling voids in game release schedule. Heck would be nice to see sony tasking them with bringing back not so popular Sony IP's. This is the ideal time for that

5. Crash/FF/Wipeout

6. Honestly not too much for games like UC4 since there's a lot of time still. But for games like Order as much as possible. Release date is nearby so tons of gameplay showcasing all aspects of the game.

7. Not a ps4 owner yet but I guess Suspend-Resume

Sigh, as excited as I am, I know that deep down, Dark Cloud 3 will never be announced :(

It's just too low on the totem pole for Sony/Level 5 to prioritize.

Everything else, even Crash, seems plausible.

But I don't think I'll ever see Dark Cloud 3.

1. A single major announcement like The Last of Us 2
2. 2-3, Fallout 4, Guerilla Games new IP, RE7
3. 3, TLG, Uncharted 4,
4. None
5. FF7, Crash, Syphon Filter
6. More details on The Order
7. PSN name change, Suspend/Resume

Amirox is killing the conference with too hype.
I already know I will be disappointed. :(

Ideally tho I would like to see some vita love. Use some indie devs to bring back some Old Sony IPs on the vita

but alas I know sony gives no fucks about their own system :( At least Japan is bringing some good games to it

Honestly at this point I would be SHOCKED if the show actually lives up to all these insane expectations

1. 3-5
2. See #1
3. 7-10 (TLG would fall in here)
4. Sizeable but not the focus
5. Crash is the main "get" and FF7 is clearly massive, but any gaggle and menagerie of PS1 stuff, TM, AE, Spyro
6. Basically summed it up already with "what's in the games that's different, what returns, what's been removed"
7. The big two that everyone has already asked for in this thread.

IF you were making a show to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sony PlayStation--

1. How many 'big' announcements do you think is sufficient to make it a memorable show?
5 because if you multiply it by 4(PS4) we get 20.
2. How many new AAA titles should be revealed?
3. Most people want information on already announced games.
3. How many old AAA titles already announced w/ new trailers/gameplay should be shown?
2. We have TLG and Agent
4. What type of presence should indie games have?
I'd say they should have a spotlight on them. A good section should be dedicated to indie devs and trailers for their games and maybe some demos.
5. If you could list three 'dream' games you could have to emphasize the memories of people's time with PS, what would they be? Like would you try to secure old IPs, would you try to announce new versions in old franchises (like Jet Moto, PLEASE Sony PLEASE)? Shit load of 989 sports titles, Crash, Kingdom Hearts
6. What type of information would you like to hear about games already announced (ex: features you'd like to see in uncharted 4 that maybe weren't in the series before)?
Don't know
7. What type of shit would you like to hear announced for the PS4 itself, feature-wise?
Name changing, custom themes, video chat, better focus on media (DLNA and that sort).

This will be good guys!!!!

This feels like the most chaotic hype thread ever lol. I don't recall even E3 being like this, maybe PS4 reveal.

Excited-Gif.gif

GAF won't ever recover from the fallout of this event will it?

A few bomb drops and then a Nuke hits - this thread will be ground zero and the rest of the Gaming Forum the radioactive wasteland. Off Topic boards may scrape by with mild radiation poisoning.

The one thing I've been told about is pretty crazy and will definitely have many users on here losing their shit, but it isn't the biggest announcement Sony has apparently. So I'm hyped through the roof for this coming weekend.

This is going to be the longest week ever. So glad to be a PS4 owner right now. I'll gladly take a place on the hype train with everyone else! Let the apocalypse commence.

You don't want to set the world on fire?

Edit: can't find your "bombs will drop" quote :p

2. 1 or 2.
3. 4 or 5.
4. Decent, but not enough to outshine the big games.
5. Crash, FF VII, Parappa.
6. No idea. Literally anything new about them I guess.
7. Suspend/Resume is the only feature I would probably use. So that.

I don't buy the suspend/resume feature being the "most requested" thing.

Nobody REQUESTED that, it was announced and shown to us and they have just taken their time finishing it.
