To be reasonable here, I think Sony is a very different company than when PS first started. They were like Apple back then, but now with so much expansion, the company is so very bloated, and cutting off that fat is resulting in losses every year. But even, a new nimble, profitable Sony is likely not trying to invest a whole lot going forward. An ideal show from a fan's perspective would be stupid IMO. As much as PS division is all about creativity and pushing boundaries, I think Kaz is mostly about profit for the next couple years. What would fans request? Stuff like Jet Moto, or twisted Metal? And forums would light up, Sony would get good media coverage and then what? Games debut to 9/10's and sell 300k a piece. That's not what Sony wants anymore. So the question we should be considering is what is both financially feasible, a sound investment, and will get great media coverage from fans.
The Crash thing I'm just not sure it will sell well unless they have a break-through in gameplay and market it to death. So I'm very 50/50 on that.
Final Fantasy attached to anything will get attention, so as long as Sony develops a good JRPG, they can remake, remaster, or sell it with great success I believe. A basic continuation of the story or a re-imaginng of the game would work IMO. I'm not sure it'll be here, but I do believe it's coming.
Shenmue doesn't make any sense to me unless Sony invest a ton of money into it to become like GTA, and if they are going to do that, might as well use The Getaway IP or Infamous or just make a new one. No need to even involve Sega here if they want a big open-world franchise.
The last Guardian, if ready, would be a perfect fit for celebrating PS.
A new Gran Torismo would also fit here.
The rest will be updates to stuff announced, but that won't be bad at all..Stuff announced is amazing varied.
See you guys later, too much hype for a Monday.
