It could be announcing 20 million sold. It might not have to be a gaming uberton, but its something worth a lot to sony. Tbh what people know, i dont think is the big announcement. You give out a big deal so people get distracted and blind sided. I think, strategy wise, something significant will drop.

maybe because the game is too far away to talk about it now?? I asked him a month ago about the status of the game, and he said nothing to share yet
Vetted or not, I don't take anything that guy says as gospel. And I could have missed something, but I have yet to see Kagari acknowledge FFVIIR as some certain inevitably. Maybe then I would believe.

Maybe they're under the impression that, if there is a FF VII remake, Sony is helping in the development of it.
I don't believe there is a FF VII remake planned, but this could be how they get it produced.

When Verendus announced that Final Fantasy Versus would become Final Fantasy 15, Kagari and thuway didnt believe him and said it doesnt make sense.
While i trust Kagari, i think she doesnt know always everything
They just spent the last generation proving they're anything but that, haha.

There's something so iconic about FF7.....I don't exactly know why but its never going to leave the mind and every time I hear music from it I just want to begin the adventure again but its never the same after playing it for the first time. I just adore the world SE built with FF7.
She knows more than you and I. I trust her until I have a reason not to. And I've interacted with her for a while.
Verendus is just some dude I don't know from Adam that posts occasionally, obnoxiously, and drops a few hints.
Basing opinions on faith is a loathsome habit as far as I'm concerned, so I have my doubts when it comes to any insider. However, the point of the post was to show that there is some reason behind the assumptions and that they weren't - I hope - simply a matter of GAF opening up the dream factory one more time.
Edit: Maybe we can stop comparing insiders and mods. Seems an odd kind of list war and a pointless distraction to boot.

As much as ff7AC was visually neat. The story, the writing, just was really a let down. The only thing i enjoyed from that was remanded of the Turks.
who knows, maybe they would do a great job. i just wonder if it would kill the great nostalgia everyone has for the game.
other than that, the rest of the possibilities. I'd like to see DD sequel show up or a .hack mmo game

Of course it'll be bad. That ip was left behind for a reason, gaming moved on. That could only come back as a download game, not a big budget release.

Nothing/no one has ever suggested FFVIIR would be at this event, so that seems pretty dream factory to me. Someone mentioned it facetiously, folks latched on. It always happens and always ends the same way.
This will be no different. As Wmik pointed out, they have enough on their plate.

If someone at Sony is watching this thread and they are concerned about leaks, I wonder if they'd drop their own hints to kinda steer the hype so as to A) prevent the leaks or B) leak stuff out on their own terms.
You realize Versus becoming XV was a popular cold call, right? It made sense for years before SE did it. Than SE did it. You didn't have to be any sort of insider to figure that and no one was surprised when it happened.
If that's his claim to fame, it's a really bad one.
The most important thing is that he was not banned while making such statements. He confirmed many times about the remake on the PS4 Launch Thread, and he was not banned.
We might be in danger of going in circles here, but I'll say this one last time. The reason it makes sense to reveal it at PSX is the connection between FFVII and the Playstation brand, which will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. Maybe I'm remembering things incorrectly, but I thought FFVII was a very important part of Sony's plan and that it did give the system much more credibility than it would have had otherwise. It seems like this event would be a great way to acknowledge that history. But yes, this may just be an argument from a false premise, so I'm not terribly attached to the idea and won't argue about it to the bitter end. Agree to disagree.
