Game Awards announcing World Premieres on Twitter [Up2: NMS, MGO, BB, 1886, KQ]

people,

world premiere = something you did not know before

like how destiny at e3 2013 was a world premiere even though they showed a trailer of it on playstation meeting.

can we move on now?

It could literally mean anything. It could be a level of The Order that we've not seen before. It could be the premier of the second mission in Helldivers. I could post the world premier of me eating a bowl of Weetabix on YouTube, and it would truthfully be a world premier.

Context is everything, but that phrase in itself is pointless.

Keighley said a while ago that world premieres will be both unannounced games and games we already know about.

I get it and it's fine, but something in the veins of first gameplay for Rise of the Tomb Raider or Uncharted I'd consider it a world premiere even if we do know of the game. No Man's Sky...not so much, we already saw it, didn't we?

This is pretty much my gripe with it. Only in video games can so many terms be such a misnomer.

Give me Metal Gear Rising 2 and I'll be very happy.

Really enjoying MGR 1 at the moment, so certainly wouldn't say no. It is also the first platinum game I've played

So a world premier= a new trailer regardless of what game it is?

So today for example we had a world premier with the shitty Batman trailer as well? Nice definition there, hope to actually see some new reveals and not just new trailers or teasers for previously seen games.

With the PSX event the day after I keep forgetting about the VGA's. I really shouldn't as I imagine they'll show some great stuff.

Can't wait to see more of No Man's Sky and despite not having an XBO i'm also excited at the possibility of a 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' gameplay reveal.

16 more? They said it was 12. Now its 18? Kind of tells me "World premieres" is being used very liberally. Especially since No Man's Sky is one of them.

Geoff confirmed on twitch last night that no, not all 12 were going to be yet unrevealed AAA nuclear bombs of hype. A number of world premiers will be new footage and features of games already announced for next year.

Metal Gear Online already set the precedent for this, considering it's not its own game but rather included with MGSV.

That's why the MGO reveal could be attached to the end of a new MGSV story trailer. So there is still hope for a release date announcement.

Goddammit, we're going to get 11 trailers of games we know about and 1 teaser for a new one, aren't we? I knew it was too good to be true...

So are we expecting MS to have an announcement here? If they don't I feel bad for them with having this Playstation apparently megaton bonanza this weekend.

18 in all, so if you can find 17 games we already know about for them to feature, then you might be on to something.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely don't think it'll even be an even split. Probably 10 "world premieres" and 8 new games.

not sure. Phil Spencer said on twitter that he can't make the event. Maybe MS gives a smaller announcement like a Gears Collection.

I hope there's actually time for some awards at this awards show, not just promo after promo for games that aren't coming out any time soon. This isn't going to be another "Hey welcome to the show, here's an award you won" thing where people on the red carpet get surprised with an award before the show even starts so there's time for all the trailers, is it?

It's 2 hours long. Awards will be given on stage.

Oh, didn't know the number had changed again. 8 would be pretty good to me. I only need 1 of them to be Fallout 4 for me to be happy.

Their definition of World Premiere has always been sketchy.

So tell me something...

Does this No Man Sky trailer release somewhere prior to there reveal?

Because if it doesn't, then that sounds like a world premiere reveal to me... Who cares if we have heard about the game before? If they have a new trailer that has never been shown before with brand new footage, than isn't that a "World Premiere" seeing as, you know... ITS THE FIRST PLACE IT IS BEING PREMIERED?

I just have the feeling that most of these world premiers will be for games we already know exist, and barely any will be actual new unannounced games. He said there will be a combination. Didn't say what combination was. If there really were many great new unannounced titles being announced there, then he would be using that to create hype. He isn't doing that. He's focusing on games we already know are coming. He won't even mention how many of the premiers are unannounced titles.

Those games that do get announced here will probably not be "big deals" as such, since E3 is where publishers like to reveal their big dogs.

Not hyped to be honest.

Hopefully Nintendo throw out a little something and do some marketing to the thirsty demographic.

Itigaki's Devil's Third non-alpha trailer hamming up the absurd online play could be a fun showing.

Either he's wise keeping hype levels in check with already known games or he's keeping for surprises.

I know this is stupid blind hope but wish list:

Fallout 4
Either Halo 5 single player or Halo Wars 2
Gears of War 4
Red Dead 3
