Control Resonant Announced | The Game Awards 2025

totally expecting a nonsensical, convoluted mess of a narrative. sam lake lost his touch long ago.
but control at least has gameplay.
should be good after the glorified walking-sim alan wake2 was.

I like plenty of melee combat games. I even liked combat in KCD2!

But I want some guns and telekinesis from a sci-fi game that is Control sequel. This ain't Oblivion or KCD or Witcher. Look at Cyberpunk, there are plenty of melee options but also guns.
You make a good point, it doesn't play like any of those games and I'm glad. I have never liked Oblivion, Witcher and Cyberpunks melee combat, there was always something off about it.

No spin off. Full fledged game and a true sequel.

Looks intriguing but there are some orange / red flags:
- Dylan was a very boring character in the first game, and his new design is a big meh
- What made Control fantastic was that it felt grounded, and it used wonderfully the dichotomy between bureaucratic / admin instiutional environment, and wild paranormal stuff. This time it seems its only getting crazier without balance (like someone else said in the thread)

Irony is the fact there are some fans of control 1 on another forum that are avoiding this game cause the protagonist switched from a woman to a man. The hypocrisy and irony is off the charts and I love it. Ah unapologetic sexism.

I think it's more that Jesse was an interesting, no non sense character while on the other hand Dylan was very boring

Looks really cool. I liked the X files vibes of the first Control.
The music remember me Ghost in The Shell.
Probably Day One!

The good surprise of the Game awards with Pragmata for me.

I never finished Control, even though I got pretty far into it. I should actually complete it because I enjoyed it for the most part, and I'm always down for a sequel that takes a bit of a left turn.

Best trailer from the show imo! Looks really interesting, seems like they are going for more melee action(from what we saw atleast).

Really liked Control! It's not perfect, but the atmosphere is amazing.

Looking forward to this, hopefully it's good. Also was kinda surprised it's a 2026 title, but I'm not complaining!
