Best looking Wii U game out right now?

Windwaker HD looks incredible, like concept art.

Also controversial opinion, but i just got Mass Effect 3 and i think it's one of the best looking games on the system in terms of IQ, at least from the realistic games available on the system.

The game just flat out beautiful man

I agree, if WiiU can do that I will buy it immediately and so would every other gamer in existence.

Ps4 cannot do that (well maybe at 15 FPS)

Sorry mate, bullshots really get my back up from anybody, don't care whether its ubisoft, Sony, MS or Nintendo. Its just wrong.

The character models and great animations in Smash look very pretty, but I have to disagree with the backdrops. It may look good compared to previous Smash games; however, I think they look pretty mediocre. Cool stage design, and some fantastic artistic choices, but still kind of janky.

I'd nominate Mario Kart 8.

I played Mario Kart 8 for the first time in 3 months thanks to the DLC, my first impressions after seeing Wario's Gold Mine was "holy shit, I don't remember MK8 looking so ugly". Seriously, the aliasing is atrocious, even in motion. However once I turned my TV sharpness from 50% to 0% it looked a lot better.

So my vote goes to 3D World.

Guess you'll be buying a Wii U sometime next year then.

To me it's Mario Kart 8, easily. Great visuals, fluid framerate and aesthetically pleasing and impressive.

With that said, Super Mario 3D World, Bayonetta 2, Wind Waker HD and even Sonic Lost World look pretty great.

Mario Kart 8 is my favourite game on the system, but I can't comprehend how people putting it over 3D World or WW graphically. Maybe it's my 47", but those jaggies are really ugly.

You guys are sleeping on Captain Toad.

It uses a vastly improved SM3DW engine and is capable of producing a better graphic fidelity because of the much smaller levels; watch the trailers, it is almost Pixar-esque in terms of visual quality. Also, a lot of the character models look fantastic, the bird with its dozens of feathers or the huge lava dragon.

Uhhh, that scene is not as technically amazing as you seem to think it is. It LOOKS quite beautiful but it's all a mastery of the art and design. There's nothing going on there that is beyond what the WiiU can deliver.

Beyond 3D says its down sampled to 1080p from 1440p.

I enjoy so many Ps4 games open world 3D full camera control down sampled from 1440p on 1.8 TF....Oh wait...

What do you base your opinion on ?

Its going to be 720p30 and look nothing like that in game imo

Mario Kart 8 looks beautiful, but even in motion the jaggies can bring down the quality a lot. This mostly when the camera pans around at the start of matches. During the match when you're racing it looks much smoother. However it's the combination of the well designed tracks, the beautiful lighting, the shadows and reflections that makes it stand out.

Captain Toad probably takes the cake.

Ah, I didn't realize it was downsampled from 1440. I was talking about the scene itself (based on the GIF) - not the resolution. No way WiiU could render that at 1440p.

Looking at the original image posted I'm in agreement with you. Aside from image quality, however, there's nothing about that scene that seems out of reach for WiiU. It'll definitely be 720p30.

My vote would be MarioKart 8. A very nice looking game that runs super smooth at 60fps. It's awesome.

If it's still 720p then it has no chance to compete with Smash. That game looks so clean compared to the rest of Nintendo's Wii U games.

There's no way those blades of grass are not going to be jaggy as hell in the final game.

I may be decepted because it's the newes game I'm amazed by, but right now I'd say it's definitely Smash. It looks awesome in 1080p and 60fps.

I'll still go with Super Mario 3d World.

Yep. MK would look so amazing if it had some damn AA. It's got a great art style and nice models/stages. But that jaggy look just kills the IQ imo. Was honestly the big graphical disappointment I've had this year coming from all the bullshots with depth of field and super clean IQ.
Where are these bullshots you are talking about, the game, since the beginning, was a jaggie mess and Nintendo always showed it.

Mario Kart 8. The prettiest game on any next-gen console by a mile.

Edit: I agree that Bayonetta 2 is a bit of a sleeper. Its environments are inconsistent but the sheer amount of stuff going on during climactic battles, coupled with some beautiful art direction, really impressed me. It was difficult to go back to Bayonetta after playing the second. Those colors.

why? Xenoblade X has a bigger world and multiplayer and looks similar in terms of detail/complexity.

Because I've got a lot of hope for this title and I don't want to over hype myself for it. I want to see actual gameplay before I can relax on this title.

So far we've only got comments with screenshots from games with cartoony graphics. They look good, but it doesn't look like anyone is gambling for a game with realistic graphics, maybe because it could be topped by PC or the PS4 easily. However, what game has the most realistic graphics for the Wii U right now? I mean, even The Conduit 2 on the Wii had a nice sense of "realism" (of course it had a heavy dose of sci-fi included, but I hope you guys get the point).
