How do you play Ness? Strong focus on the grab game? Diddy plays similarly in that respect. If you use Ness to guard the ledges, Pikachu can feel quite natural.

Thank you kindly for the recommendations. I prioritize Ness's aerials and grabs more than anything else. I only really use D-Throw for early follow-up combos and B-Throw for the obvious kill tool it is. I love his ability to trade well with his strong N-Air and his ability to punish hard with either an early F-Smash kill or a spaced PK Fire that can lead to more damage. For edgeguarding, I mostly rely on a well timed D-Smash yo-yo, dash attack, or F-Smash if they completely whiffed the ledge grab.

How well do Diddy and Pikachu fair against Ness's hardest counters? When selecting my main trio, I'd like them to balance each other out in regards to their respective matchups. Heard really good things about Diddy, and to be honest I haven't given him much of a fair chance yet, so I'll look into his game throughout this week. I also remember Pikachu being comfortable to play but lacking much mixups or opportunities for hard punishes.

And to whoever complained about Ness's buffs: Melee and Brawl treated him so poorly. Just be happy for the guy. :'(

Good fucking games man, you should play romancedawn, your DK is superb

Awesome games....i hate how your able to lure me in with kirby...that damn sucking move....and your game&watch is deadly....it pains me to throw projectiles at him cause i know you always hit that damn bucket move...is that an instant kill?

My dk is alright....up b super armor and the platforms limiting your air game deserve more of the credit in that match....fun matches though...some tense moments with luigi and game&watch

We're you the one that had that great game and watch? I think we played on the 3DS version. We should play again sometime!

Yes I am the hard working game and watch, yea you had that crucial warrior, in actually off tonight so I'm hoping to smash with everyone I've missed later today. December is terrible for postal employees gaming

I can't speak for Pikachu but Diddy Kong will, much like Ness, go in for grabs due to that asinine DThrow and his UAir being an easy attack to combo into, as well as being able to combo into itself at times, for quick damage racking and early kills (it's the Melee Fox UAir of this game basically). His approach options are far more reliable than Ness', as banana throws and monkey flip mixups can disrupt Ness' ground game fairly easy. Ness stays comparatively safe in the air against him but he still needs to respect Diddy's aerial game and never stay straight above him.

Essentially there are some characters who are doomed when my bucket fills up. 3 fire balls kills Luigi at 0% as long as I grab you. Zss is another. But I won't tell all of em :D, and yea. Battlefield is my bane, but I gotta learn it. You punished my roll game with fsmashes though, I had to go with a whole different approach.

I do like the comment about Kirby luring in, most people assume I'm rushing em down, but its actually a odd defense read I like to do. I give thanks to shamrock for that, Kirby to squishy and slow for offense against most folks.

How do I fight Yoshi? I am at a loss pretty much every time unless the person is very bad. I should buy a Yoshi Amiibo just to practice.

Link is a lot of fun in this game, feels like he's not lacking in any area and has some tremendous killing power. One of the things this game got most right is having the playstyle of each character feel how you would expect it based on their combined history.

The use of all these items in combination with proper sword placement and knowing when to slash repeatedly, especially for killing blows, is so damn satisfying. Even his new rolls.

DK feels great too, Peach ain't quite Melee but I like her. Need to come to grips with her different style, I never played her much in Brawl.

But Legolas has got the stench of potench. When you've been playing a character that has ranged from ass to meh through all his FG appearances, RETRIBUTION IS SO SWEET T_T thx Namco.

yup, Link is pretty beast now, he still struggle against speedy characters like ZSS, Sonic, Sheik, etc. but he is pretty good now, so good mindgames and readings can earn him a victory even against those characters, also most of his ATs from brawl translated pretty good in Smash 4, that along with his buff, he is the first Link I think won't be low tier

Totally, my main was Toon Link in Brawl but Link became so good I prefer him now. His dash attack is perfect.

I have been so busy the last couple weeks that I actually have yet to 1v1 anyone here since the U version came out. Anyone up for 1v1? NNID is Falawful.

Same here...i only choose it because we are all probably getting too used to flat stages with no platforms with all the for glory we probably play....if we were to do tournaments....a stage like that could become an obstacle in itself
